I have been wondering that too Sunbathing, it doesn't seem right just to leave once baby shows up.

Hey all - sorry I've been a bit quiet lately. Felt the need to take a bit of time away from the anxiety and such.

Can't remember where I was when I left off... had I just had the dodgy scan? Had another with a lovely, lovely consultant in Foetal Medicine who found that the original scan wasn't really that far off and Erwin did have little legs and a much bigger head but he thought that there wasn't anything really to worry about especially as DH was there, who has a long torso and little weeble legs... and a big head Grin he booked me in for a uterine doppler scan for 23 weeks but was very clear that that wasn't to do with any problems this time - I had pre-eclampsia with DD so my consultant would probably want to book one anyway, so he was being helpful.

And I had my 20 week scan on Saturday, with a - how shall we say - very forthright sonographer who was most put out that they'd been scanning the long bones before 20 weeks as apparently it's the best way to frighten parents - mmm, tell me about it! Anyway the good news is that Erwin has been doing lots of growing and everything is measuring normally, if on the little side. The long bones have jumped up the centile chart, which is a great reassurance. Still a very badly behaved baby who wasn't at all cooperative for the scan... but it looks very much like she's a girl! So big smiles all round. Feeling much more reassured now I'm getting movement.

Consultant appointment tomorrow - have made a list of things I want to talk about and made sure DH knows too. I've heard nothing but good things about her so I hope it goes well (and that I actually get to see her - I know people who were under her care but only got to see her registrars before being discharged to midwifery, but they were less high-risk than I am)

mrsdiddlydoo · 06/05/2015 13:54

Had my private scan today. Was measuring ahead at 7+6 and HB seen. Haven't felt the tiniest bit sick yet today cue major freak out. Feeling brave enough to add my Stats:

Hi ladies, I'm a long time lurker of this thread from the other mmc one. Hadn't dared allow myself to believe this pregnancy would progress but had my dating scan today and baby is perfect! So finally plucked up the courage to join :)

Thepurplegiraffe · 06/05/2015 16:00

Great news on the scans Commander and Mrs and welcome Amy, great to see you here!

Just had a doctor appointment and have to take the dreaded iron tablets. I tried to suggest I only take them every other day but she wasn't having any of it.

Treaclepie19 · 06/05/2015 16:09

I'd be up for the fb group too :)

Great news on the scans commander and Mrs :)

Odd about that thread purple. It's very weird behaviour to come on a board like this and make a load of stuff like that up Hmm

Glad everything is going well Commander.

Welcome Amy. Would you like to be added to the stats?

kep1979 · 06/05/2015 16:45

Hi all, found out today I am pg again, after a mc on 15 March. Am trying to be positive hence adding myself to this thread! Bit worried as we are flying to Miami on 22 May, so really want to get a reassurance scan as soon as I can. But will have weeks to wait as not even 4 weeks yet!

Stats: kep1979 36, 2xds from previous marriage, mc 15/3/15 at 6+2 edd 19/1/16 (I think)

Gr33dyeggs · 06/05/2015 16:57

Welcome kep & amyyy Smile

Glad the scan went well mrsdiddlydoo!

My day off tomorrow and I think I'll spend it in bed to try and get over my cold!

Thanks treacle for the new thread. Tori I posted on our other thread but more hugs this side. I can't believe how close we are to the top now! I finish for maternity leave on Friday. CANNOT WAIT. Should have finished last week really as sickness has returned with a vengeance and so tired but at the time waiting till the election (it's relevant to my work) seemed like a good idea.

Metalhead · 06/05/2015 18:24

Welcome kep and amy, and great news on your scans commander and mrsdiddly!

Managed 15 minutes on my exercise bike earlier, which is the first time in about two weeks I've done anything remotely energetic! I've also been trying to eat a little bit more healthily again as I don't think stuffing myself with crap was actually helping with my nausea.

pizzakat · 06/05/2015 18:33

So lovely to read so many positive posts today, glad everyone is doing ok Smile

Metal you have suddenly made me feel very guilty about lying in bed watching Mr Selfridge all day eating sausage rolls and chips... I may need to have some more now to console myself!

Littlelady33 · 06/05/2015 18:52

Metal it's so hard to eat healthily when you feel sick isnt it? I had great plans for superfood salads and tons of protein in the first trimester and I could barely keep vegetables down, it was very disappointing! At the 12wk scan I was amazed to see a baby had developed fine nourished only by brown toast, plain yoghurt and Pregnacare!

happygojo · 06/05/2015 19:28

envious I TOTALLY get where you come from. I had a blighted ovum too and my main emotion was anger. I gained a stone in weight, I had felt like crap (morning sickness etc) I then had to go into hospital to painfully miscarry and it was all for nothing. There was no baby, so nothing to mourn. I was mourning the idea of pregnancy rather than a baby that had passed like you said. I know this may make me seem heartless. Anyway you are not alone in how you feel. Maybe it is a blighted ovum thing

longestlurkerever · 06/05/2015 19:34

envious Thanks for sharing how you feel. I am glad you feel good. Don't feel guilty for being happy. There is no right or wrong way to feel. Fwiw i have always been sadder about the barrier rmc seemed to be to having a healthy baby, rather than the loss of the babies themselves but I know and respect that others feel differently. It's not quite so straightforward as that as I did feel sad around my last due date even though my pregnancy was progressing well, but I think when this baby is safely here I will maybe stop thinking about what might have been too, though I have been permanently and deeply affected by the struggle to get here - hopefully in positive as well as negative ways.

Littlelady33 · 06/05/2015 19:37

Envious I totally understand. I feel sad when I remember how sad I was but there being an overlap between when that pregnancy would have come to term and the beginning of this one changed my perspective. I couldn't be carrying this baby if that pregnancy had continued and that takes so much of the pain away. But I was lucky really to never have a due date and I know that for everyone it isn't like this - I also feel guilty for posting this! I certainly do not belittle even slightly hoe upset others still are or how upset until very recently I was about the MC. These are recent developments !
