Awww congratulations :-) x

Amyyy27 · 18/06/2015 13:12

Yay chasing congrats!! A fellow team blue member :) Is he cooking well in there? x

Romeolovesjuliet · 18/06/2015 13:27

Congratulations chasing!
I am obviously biased but I love having one of each :-)
A colleague just told me she's 14 wks with her first after 2 previous mcs. I'm so happy for her, it made me well up. I really had to bite my tongue not to say 'me too' but too scared of tempting fate.

chasingtherainbow · 18/06/2015 14:43

Thanks guys! Baby is doing really well. Very active!

Basically I decided not to find out and became excited for another surprise. She was doing all the measurements and went down to his kidneys and then.. bam. I saw it. She quickly moved the scanner back up but I must have made a noise because she looked straight at me and started "oh and here's the kidneys" and nervously waffling. DH completely oblivious. At the end she started wrapping it up and I knew I couldn't leave .. I was sure I'd seen but knew I'd spend the next 20 weeks wondering.. so I just turned to dh and said "I'm sorry but I need to know, step out if you want to" .. he stayed and I asked her. She checked and her words were "I never say 100% but.."

DH swinging between freaking out over the pressure of raising a boy (was unaware there was any!?) And complete excitement.

I am just Shock Grin Shock

I'll post pix on the fb group xxx

onefootinthebed · 18/06/2015 15:50

Oh just a quick one to say I just got 6 Tommee yippie close to nature bottles for £6.99 in Aldi, I am planning on breast feeding but I have them just in case I need them. I only lasted 6 weeks last time x

chasingtherainbow · 18/06/2015 15:53

Oh you've just reminded me.. aveeno and bio oil is half price in morrisons x

Bristolian1 · 18/06/2015 16:28

Argh... Just managed to spill cyclosporin all over my hands. Stupid dangerous job Sad now having massive panic.....

Romeolovesjuliet · 18/06/2015 16:38

Bristolian - hope you're ok.
Chasing - I only have 20 months experience of raising a boy but as far as I can see the main thing you need is lots of energy to chase them around! My DS is a complete nutter and has no fear (polar opposite to my DD) Grin

chasingtherainbow · 18/06/2015 16:49

Bristolian I have no idea what that is but I hope you're ok!

I think I'm still in shock. Knowing is weird. I guess there's no time for gender shock when you find out at birth because you're distracted by a real life baby Grin I had really thought it was a boy but had thought the same about dd so guessed I was probably wrong again.

It all feels a bit weird still! Maybe I need to go spend money on blue stuff Grin

Amyyy27 · 18/06/2015 16:55

Ahh bristolian hope you're ok! Not sure what that is but doesn't sound nice!

chasing still feels really weird here! It's such a strange feeling going from thinking 'baby' to 'him/her'

chasingtherainbow · 18/06/2015 16:56

We aren't telling anyone else so I can only use him at home!!

Gr33dyeggs · 18/06/2015 18:49

bristolian can u get advice re the Immunosuppressive?

OP posts:
Bristolian1 · 18/06/2015 19:20

Thanks guys. GP says not to worry so I'm going to try and take his advice. Was only a little bit and I washed it straight off. Just cross with myself for being so clumsy Angry Today I have burnt my finger on straighteners, trapped (the same) finger in a cupboard and spilled immunosuppressive drugs on myself. Can I lock myself in a padded room for the next 25 weeks please?

Tootle10 · 18/06/2015 19:23

Lovely news chasing! How fab Smile

Hope you're ok bristolian, contact your midwife or doctor if you're worried.

I told my boss today - I've got my booking in appt tomorrow, scan at the epu on Wednesday, dating scan on 6 July and dentist on 8 July (gums seem to be falling apart) so felt I needed to say something. I was worried he'd either think I was going for interviews or that I was really ill! Anyway, he was great. I was worried about it, but he seemed genuinely chuffed for me and said having kids is the best thing I'll ever do (he's got a family himself). I figured that even if something went wrong, I'd need to say something as I'd need time off work etc.

We've nearly filled this thread!

Barbiedoll79 · 19/06/2015 12:54

Hiya

I've made a new thread- hopefully done it right
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2406294-best-shit-place-grass-4-Still-pregnant-and-scans-ahoy-End-of-the-year-cant-come-soon-enough I just used the name above and have changed to #4
I def wanna keep updated on everyone's progress :-)
Are there any scans today? If so best of luck x

Romeolovesjuliet · 19/06/2015 13:18

We're off on holiday tomorrow and doubt I will be on much so just checking in to say good luck to everyone having scans while I am away.
When I get back I have booking appt and private scan - might relax a bit if all is ok at scan (probably for the first couple of hours following the scan). Trying not to irrationally worry about things going wrong while we are away - ideally I wouldn't fly in the first tri though I do know really it wouldn't cause anything.
Take care everyone.

Amyyy27 · 19/06/2015 13:33
