Amyyy27 · 13/06/2015 21:32

Thanks everyone! Not long now for a lot of 20 week scan news to start rolling in :) Chasing I think you are first is that right?

Hope everyone I enjoying their weekend.

Still ill here and terrible heartburn, my mil is suggesting milk... is that a good idea with sickness?

Gr33dyeggs · 13/06/2015 22:10

Personally I wouldn't have milk if you're being sick - it seems to curdle and is very grim coming back up!

My 20 week scan is Monday afternoon. Eek.

Had a lovely day today visiting friends - weather fine but not as hot as recently unfortunately.

Amyy congrats, I have a little boy and I wouldn't mind if I had another boy.

Amyyy27 · 14/06/2015 07:20

Oh sorry greedy you must be first then, how exciting! :) I did avoid the milk lol I remembered the curdling!

Thanks onefoot! :)

Awww amyy a boy!!! Congratulations!! Lovely news.

greedy all the best for your scan tomorrow. Same to anyone else with scans next week. We are flying out very early tomorrow morning so will have to catch up when Im back - unless there's wifi then I'm sure I won't be able to resist popping in!

onefootinthebed · 14/06/2015 19:31

I went shopping today girls and got some maternity clothes. I'm sure most places think pregnant people lack any sort of need to look fashionable, I got bits from newlook and loads from H&m, only some of it was from the normal t shirt sort of section. I got an amazing "dress" to wear over leggings I'm sure the must think anyone who shops there is 5ft nothing. I put it on when I got home went out to prezzo (my fave) and got compliments about it. The only thing I didn't buy was maternity leggings because I just thought mine will do. I'm going to have to get some although I don't remember seeing any.

Oh h&m have a sale on too baby clothes from £1,although it's all abit to summery for what we need.

Amyyy27 · 14/06/2015 19:32

Thanks greedy, good luck for the scan tomorrow will be thinking of you!

Thank you genni! Hope you have a lovely holiday :)

chasingtherainbow · 14/06/2015 19:45

Good luck greedy! Sooo can't believe we're all heading towards 20weeks scans at last ? .. next stop real babies! !!

Onefoot..apparently all pregnant women have zero boobs and want to dress in tent like shapes also.

onefootinthebed · 14/06/2015 20:29

Arh Genni I didn't see your post, enjoy your holiday.

Greedy good luck for tomorrow I have weeks to go yet. Are you going to find out if it's a boy or a girl? I have been using Amyy as a talking point to get my dh to change his mind. Amyy on Mumsnet is so lucky she can be so organised now, just think Amyy from mumsnet only has to look at boys names. I need more things to say to change his mind. Although he did say I wish I didn't bloody tell you about mumsnet.

Chasing I think you are right I looked like I was trying tents on in some stores. Are you all buying maternity knickers I just bought some bigger ones of my faves, but I wanted to laugh abit at some of them.

chasingtherainbow · 14/06/2015 20:35

There's such a thing as maternity pants!?

Will just buy bigger for me. . I really need to get some mat leggings.

onefootinthebed · 14/06/2015 21:18

Yes chasing they are humongous as well, and aswell the patterns they are make your eyes go funny, maybe the are to put your other half off in the 3rd trimester lol.

And real babies aye, I cannot wait. Role on November.

Gr33dyeggs · 14/06/2015 21:28

No, I don't want to find out! I'm 95% certain it's a boy from feeling exactly like I did when pregnant with ds plus they brought my sate forward suggesting I conceived on day 9 so I don't think any 'girl sperm' would have made it! It's In the same pram, car seat, slings and clothes as ds anyway whatever the gender!

OP posts:
chasingtherainbow · 14/06/2015 21:45

Greedy did you find out with ds?

After all my desperation to know I'm starting to think actually I don't. don't tell dh

Gr33dyeggs · 14/06/2015 22:31

No. After a rather traumatic birth we didn't even think of the sex. He'd been on my chest a few minutes b4 the midwife asked if we wanted to know what we had!

OP posts:
chasingtherainbow · 15/06/2015 06:36

I think you do forget, I had a very simple birth and she was on my chest for what felt like an age before the midwife asked.. and we were like.. oh yeah! What is it? Lol!

Weirdly the thing that sticks in my mind most is my dh saying 'give her a kiss babe' .. I don't know why.. he didn't even say it the way thst I heard it but I suddenly felt like I should have kissed her when she first came out, but I was just in shock. . One minute I'm pregnant and pushing and the next there was this seemingly huge (she was actually only 7.8) naked wriggly crying baby on my chest. . . I still find myself thinking about it now and feeling weirdly guilty. . . DH was busy smooching me and baby and fussing and my sister was crying, I felt bad he had to remind me!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/06/2015 06:47

It is the oddest feeling. My dd shot out quite fast so was quite for a few seconds. When she started to cry, I just remember this feeling of 'Woah! There's a baby in the room! Where the fuck did that come from?"
