Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

Babiecakes welcome! The more the merrier Smile I too can't believe your waters went so early, hope you are doing ok?

Zsazsabinks, how are you feeling after your sweep?

Zsazsabinks · 10/02/2015 13:55

Fine, it was honestly OK. I mean, I'm not going to ask for one for my birthday but it wasn't all that bad. Quite interesting to hear what was going on down there actually! lol.

Cherryblossom200 · 10/02/2015 14:06

Ok! I have mine tomorrow AM, hoping it's not too bad either.

MrsCorr · 10/02/2015 14:21

Yeah, this is my first. Midwife doesn't seem too concerned as some babies don't engage until labour starts. Not sure how that works for an induction though, will need to ask tomorrow. She told me I would be able to tell if he had engaged because I'd feel more pressure but I don't feel any differently! Don't know if that's a good thing or not lol, have had a great pregnancy though so can't complain too much Grin

Cherryblossom200 · 10/02/2015 14:27

I was 3/5th engaged a few weeks ago (this is my first baby) and found out yesterday I'm now fully engaged. I feel absolutely no difference at all! No more pressure then usual, no more frequent toilet trips, no waddling. Sometimes you can be fully engaged and not even realise it!

hazel88 · 10/02/2015 16:04

Hoping to hear of some babies soon! Thanks

Thanks cherry, that makes me feel better Smile hopefully find out tomorrow that he's in the right position. Only see the midwife every 2 weeks & the last time it was a different midwife covering for my usual one so would like to see her & ask a few things. Wish things would just get going now, we're just waiting every day for a sign & time is dragging by!

Hello all.
I've just come across this looking for old threads on diarrhoea at 37 weeks.
I'm 37+2 I've had diarrhoea today (sorry TMI) and yesterday I cleaned my windows randomly.
Could I be near labour??

okeydonkey · 10/02/2015 16:31

Oh and head is 3/5ths and I've had pains and niggles for a few days

Zsazsabinks · 10/02/2015 16:32

All signs of things pottering along! Join the thread. :D x

okeydonkey · 10/02/2015 17:03

Thanks, feeling real now!

blondie1001 · 10/02/2015 17:42

I'm due next Sunday so 38+2. Was at the docs today - baby is head down (relief - he was breech) but not engaged. I could do with a couple more weeks to get ready to be honest so I'm hoping he hangs in a bit longer (but not too long!!!). He's my first!

Phantom, Im not sure why he offered me an early sweep to be honest. He says that from 37 weeks babies are fully cooked. I'm back to the hospital today so we'll see what he has to say!

hazel88 · 11/02/2015 06:36

Is anybody having sharp stinging stabbing pains in their nooni?! I'm getting them more frequently recently and I would almost describe it as the feeling you get with a UTI- although I know it's not. Seeing the Midwife today so will ask, but I've read it could be lightning. Baby was 1/5 engaged last week, hoping she's further down today!

Yes Hazel...I like to call them 'fanny daggers'! They are quite something when they strike. I'm going to ask about them also today. I presume it's the baby turning itself into position.

hazel88 · 11/02/2015 08:55

'fanny daggers'...exactly haha Grin

Grrr, my post disappeared!

Thanks blank, I ask because thought they'd only give you a sweep if overdue but good you've been offered. I'd be tempted if it were me, anything to get things moving! Hazel, yep the 'fanny daggers' can get really painful, I've found they've got worse with each pregnancy. I think it's something to do with your cervix preparing, could be wrong though, all normal though -annoyingly !

I've got mw tomorrow and going to request a sweep as sciatica is horrendous and would rather be kept awake by a baby than excruciating back pain! Good luck today all Smile

hazel88 · 11/02/2015 10:23

Glad my stabbing fanny is normal haha Grin does anyone know when you're induced and are on the ward when you're moved to labour ward? Had the induction conversation with MW today who said if I'm induced I'll be on my own until I go to labour ward when I can phone for my birthing partners, but when are you taken to labour ward?!

Bearsinmotion · 11/02/2015 10:41

I think it's when you're ready hazel! With DD they tried sweeps, pessaries etc and nothing happened. They only took me down once they had decided I needed the drip, and the drip was put in in the delivery suite ( with the epidural and other drugs Grin)

hazel88 · 11/02/2015 10:48

Bears do you mean as in 10 cm and ready to push?!

With regards to the sweep conversation...After discussing it today with my MW I'd much rather a sweep than induction!! Find out tomorrow if I'll need to be induced, if so I'm trying every trick in the book to get labour going naturally (including sex which MW prescribed today and lots of it haha).

Morning ladies!

Well I'm 1 day over due now and back from my midwife appointment. I'm already 1cm dilated which explains why I felt so grotty yesterday. She felt my cervix to see if I was ready for a sweep and did it, I was pretty scared tbh but nothing to worry about at all! She said if my cervix wasn't open or not over due then she wouldn't offer me one.

Anyway just playing the waiting game now! Was a surprise to find I am 1cm Smile

Starting to get excited but still could be a loooong wait!

xx

hazel88 · 11/02/2015 10:58

I thought maybe they took you to labour ward once you start having contractions...hope this is the case!

Exciting Cherry!! Hope it's not long for you now Grin
