Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

I hear ya girlfriend...the 'I reckon today could be the day' comments. Don't....just don't!! Angry

I thought my nighttime worries were irrational, so glad so many others feel the same!

I think we must be due on the same day hazel. I'm 38 +1 today with Dc1. No sign of anything happening, but I had a successful ECV last Wednesday as baby was breech so baby has a bit of catching up with regard to getting engaged. I am certain nothing is going to happen until the end of next week anyway so I guess I am not impatient atm. Just glad I may be able to have a normal birth now.

Btw there is a really good February 2015 antenatal thread at httpwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2292904-February-2015-Thread-8-The-babies-are-arriving?pg=25 We already have a good number of babies born and everyone is really supportive.

hazel88 · 08/02/2015 09:32

grinningcat it sounds great, thanks Smile

Just realised the link doesn't work so I'll try again, but you should be able to find it in the antenatal topic section if it still doesn't work.

Hello :)

I'm 37+3 with DC2 and it 's much harder than I remember! I didn't get Braxton Hicks with DC1, or PGP but have both this time Confused. I am disabled anyway but usually use crutches, and now need my wheelchair all the time. One more week of work, will be so pleased to finish!

bambi I know what you mean about waters breaking - DC1 was induced but consultant ideally wants spontaneous labour this time, and I'm really worried about waters breaking somewhere public! I do have an induction booked for 40 weeks exactly, really hope I hold out until them!

MrsCorr · 08/02/2015 11:26

My husband keeps freaking me out about my waters breaking! He doesn't want me to leave the house for any length of time incase it happens, but I am climbing the walls! Convinced him to take me out for dinner last night & we had the quickest meal ever then straight home. This is our first so his concern is quite cute (but getting less cute by the day).
We've got a new mattress coming on Wednesday so have bought a waterproof mattress protector just in case Wink
I'm having a boy ??

bambi07 · 08/02/2015 11:46

Well iv just managed a walk around sports direct, every step hurt and a constant need to pee, probably because I know there aren't any toilets! I lasted about 10 minutes then went to wait in the car but birthing ball purchased! I have never been so desperate for my waters not to break, got told off for sitting down in the shoe department, because it's for people buying shoes! Thought if my waters do break there may be some public flogging, for the awkward fat pregnant lady, if I'm not even allowed to sit down! Almost had the urge to deliberately pee myself, just to give the awkward sods something to do! Angry

bambi07 · 08/02/2015 12:34

And ball is deflating faster than it was inflated, sodding great hole in it! Angry

Cherryblossom200 · 08/02/2015 13:07

Did the shop assistant in sports direct tell you off? That's not nice if they did!

I just walked around the park and got lots of stares Confused I'm used to it now. People seem to think heavily pregnant women should be locked up at home I think! But also had lots of nice comments too, very sweet! x

Zsazsabinks · 08/02/2015 13:56

I think waters breaking first is relatively unlikely isn't it? Off to Dr Google to try to put your mind at rest!

www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/symptoms-and-solutions/water-breaking-during-pregnancy.aspx

There, it only happens in 15% of cases. So you'll probably be OK. I got a ball from John Lewis yesterday, just their own brand and it's OK. Been sat on it so much I feel a bit sea sick. lol.

DH has taken it upon himself to wind me up no end today. "oooh, just read that pregnant women need to be super active, would you go and get me a tea?" followed by "You were so chilled out before the other two, what's up now" followed by "Oh, look a study that says I shouldn't be at the delivery with you, apparently partners put women off". He's doing it on purpose to wind me up the bugger!!!!!!

You should do the school run with all of the sympathetic looks from the other Mums! The look that says "Still doing the school run? Still no baby? You must be so fed up!" YES YES YES and I know it's not long in the grand scheme of things but YES I'm REALLY fed up! Comes from a nice place though, at least they understand.

Even the community midwife phoned this morning to see if anything was happening. I'm booked for a home birth and she lives around the corner from me! Told her she may as well as go to the pub to watch the rugby, nothing doing here!

EmilyCHN · 08/02/2015 14:06

41+1.. Hoping for VBAC but being admitted for induction tomorrow so times running out to bring on natural labour.. Have been having contractions on and off for a month now, and Braxton Hicks, most of which I don't notice until I touch my tummy and it's rock hard! Had 5 sweeps, last of which yesterday.. In hope that things will kick off but no. Oh well Smile Thank goodness for DGPs who have 3 y.o. DS, a husband who last night went to Sainsbury's and brought me flowers, chocolate and a Big Mac Meal without being asked to! My theory is if you don't ask for a Mcds then the calories and the guilt don't exist! Also watched a terrific film called About Time which was just what my hormonally challenged person needed! Wishing all you ladies safe and comfortable deliveries. Wish me luck for tomorrow!

fishcake84 · 08/02/2015 15:00

Oh emilychn, I totally have to have a McDonald's now. I don't think I've ever wanted anything so much in my life!

bambi07 · 08/02/2015 16:26

Good luck for tomorrow Emily and I'm very jealous of your lovely DH! X

hazel88 · 08/02/2015 16:37

Good luck Emily! Cherry I keep noticing stares too, was in Morrisons last week and 2 of the young male staff who were busy chatting actually stopped mid - conversation to take notice of me. I was fuming!!

EmilyCHN · 08/02/2015 17:29

Thanks cherry, fish and hazel..
Am in a cleaning frenzy.. Physically have to stop myself hauling all towels out if airing cupboard to re-reorganise them!! Right-oh! I'm off to hoover!

Cherryblossom200 · 08/02/2015 18:01

Poor you Emily, I would be thoroughly p*ssed off by your stage! I'm 40 weeks on Tues and the thought of having to wait possibly 2 more weeks on top of that makes me want to cry!!

hazel88 · 08/02/2015 23:02

For those who are already a Mum...when pregnant have you ever found that DTD has ever bought labour on?! Everyone says how great it is to encourage labour!

OP posts:
Zsazsabinks · 09/02/2015 00:58

Hasn't ever worked for me. Can't hurt to try though!

hazel88 · 09/02/2015 05:28

May have to resort to it if baby doesn't budge soon! Don't you just love the lack of dignity pregnancy brings...I've just managed to wake myself and DP up with loudest rip - roaring fart and now I can't get back to sleep Blush

OP posts:
Jodie1982 · 09/02/2015 05:57

Lmao Hazel!! I'm always farting n burping lately, pregnancy is just Gross! I've never found DTD helpful at all to bring on Labour, and I'm on my 5th baby, they only come when they feel like it I'm afraid.
DP snoring n grinding teeth beside me, been laying awake since 4.30am listening to it, tellin him to bloody turn over etc isn't working, I feel like slapping his face Angry
Gotta be up in half hr to get kiddies ready for school. Sad

hazel88 · 09/02/2015 06:14

Oh no Jodie!! And there wasn't a spare pillow to hand which you could have smothered him with?! I don't know what's worse...the snoring or the grinding teeth arghhh! Hope you're able to have a sleep once DCs are at school.

I've been having infrequent sharp stabbing pains down there yesterday afternoon, hope this is some of progress?? Hmm
