I thought the 2 week wait was bad, anyone else in first 12 weeks?

Hi all

I'm about 5 mins pregnant (4 weeks) very excited but also terrified. I'm not generally a worrier but I'm just so desperate to get to 12 weeks, I also can't wait to share the news.

I wondered if anyone else is in the same boat who would like to chat here until there 12 weeks is up? I found it quite comforting on the ttc board to keep returning to the same thread.

Also wondering who you have told and what your experience was like? My DH was over the moon but I've regretted telling my line manager, she's very sensible and said things like don't tell anyone else (I wasn't planning to) and that miscarriage rates are much higher than I think - this hasn't helped my worry! I only told her because I had some flights coming up that I wanted to change to train journeys and I thought I'd just be honest about needing time off for appointments.

Anyway I'm rambling, mostly it would be nice to ask those of you in the same position questions like how you are planning to cover non drinking at big events etc

It would be nice to 'meet' some fellow pregnant ladies Smile

Hi ladies! Glad to see you all still being nutty like me!

Seriouslynonames - (and abyone else considering it) move away from the Clearblue with conception indicator. I fell into that trap and have yet to get a 3+ weeks and really panicked, but did loads of googling and apparently they aren't very accurate at going up once you're actually pregnant. Given I (sort of) feel it and haven't had pain or bleeding am just assuming is all ok (hard as that is) but rather than reassure me, just made me worse.

Cremeeggboycotter - you're a couple more weeks than you think as dates from first day of last period, not conception Smile

Still can't compute it, very distracted at work and in need of a duvet day! :)

Kym134 · 02/02/2015 13:44

Hi all can I jump on this thread as the CB conception indicator confirmed 1-2 week (which apparently is 3 weeks clinically) and dates match so seems ok. Must stop googling as it is difficult reading some sad stories but how will I manage to wait till 12 weeks, struggling not to tell anyone already.

Hi girls

SO, SO glad to have found this thread and am still chucking at hello fellow knicker checkers as that is all I am doing at the moment along with the incessant googling!

First time paid for ICSI for us and last Monday (26th) got a BFP which I think I am still is disbelief about so maybe some of you can confirm this but today makes me 3 weeks pregnant (if you are counting from egg collection) but have read it is 14 days before egg collection you start counting from Confused!

Anyway I have my first scan to check for a heartbeat (or heatbeats we had two put back!) on 19/2.

As you all say I do not know how I am going to last until then and then last until the 12 weeks. The worrying is never over!

Love the girl who decanted the non alcoholic wine into a wine bottle, great forward planning!

Talking about wine I would kill at the moment for a large glass of pinot grigio!!!! xxx

anroga · 02/02/2015 16:01

Ps - Forgot to mention to add to this nightmare I developed mild OHSS after transfer so at the moment with all the fluid on my tummy look like I am about 4 months pregnant!

cremeeggboycotter · 02/02/2015 17:55

WasWebb81 I had no idea they counted the first two weeks, awesome closer to 12 week scan then I thought before.

CluelessDill Oh that sounds hard. I've been avoiding people but I'm out this weekend and I do love my wine normally (gone off it big time). I'm going to tell my best friends, if anythign went wrong I'd want them to know anyway but I don't want to tell anyone else.

CluelessDil · 02/02/2015 18:39

Well my hormones are raging, DH brought me in some dinner that I didn't like the look of and tears started welling up? Then I started laughing because I was acting like a spoiled child. Poor DH, not often I'll say that. He meanwhile thought my outburst was hilarious and is sorting out my unreasonable request for something else to eat!

WasWebb81 - thanks, you are no doubt right about the CB digital tests, I haven't bought any more of them so will restrain myself!

Seeing my GP tomorrow so will hopefully get the ball rolling with appointments.

Have got no symptoms at all today, but will try to be grateful for that rather than worry! Could murder a glass of wine though, that would definitely relax me! Grin

Thanks for the invite Gooroo

We had our first icsi over Xmas and new year and last Monday got a BFP which means now I am three weeks since egg collection.

I have my first scan for a heartbeat (or heartbeats had 2 put back!) on the 19th.

Apart from having mild hyperstimulation which makes me look like I am 4 months pregnant already I keep worrying about going and there being no heartbeat.

Any advice in how you got through the waiting would be helpful!

GoooRooo · 03/02/2015 12:02

Ooo you already posted on here Anroga - yesterday! Grin But welcome again!

Pinks22 · 03/02/2015 12:28

Hi! So I got a clear blue and it was positive +3 - thank god. Now to stop worrying for a few days until my next panic...I don't know how I'm going to get through the next 5 weeks!

alien11 · 03/02/2015 12:38

That's great pinks super news!
I'm going to do a clearblue Digi Monday...

Mumwannabe82 · 03/02/2015 17:06

yay got my 3+ on the digi so feel confident in it not being a cp, just onto the next worry haha
book in appointment with the midwife not till I'm 10 weeks so 4 and a half weeks to wait Shock

worriedmum100 · 04/02/2015 16:47

Had a scan. There's a baby in there! Good strong heartbeat. In perfect place womb-wise. Measuring 6+5 ( I thought I was 6+6). So relieved but still a long way to go.

GoooRooo · 04/02/2015 16:55

Hurrah, WorriedMum! That's fabulous news!

alien11 · 05/02/2015 07:00

mumwannabe I have 3 weeks until my booking appt & will also be 10 weeks! Guessing they re book scan from then?
I'm getting a clearblue Digi on Monday to see what it comes up with.

anroga · 05/02/2015 08:57

Congratulations worriedmum another positive post! X

pinkie87 · 05/02/2015 10:48

I'm now 10+1 and it's 11 days until my dating scan! So close and yet still so far. Symptoms seem to have lessened past two days so obviously I'm panicking. It's so difficult waiting!

GoooRooo · 05/02/2015 10:50

I've moved my private scan to the 18th, so I'll be 8 + 3 which means I can go to my booking in appointment with the midwife the next day knowing if things are okay, or not. It's still two bloody weeks away though and I'm driving myself mental.

Fizzy13 · 05/02/2015 14:54

Newbie here, around 5 and a half weeks.
There was me thinking how lucky I was that I was just a bit tired (which could be put down to new job) when it all hit me this morning like a brick wall!
I have never been so tired in my life and just being vertical was enough to make me feel terrible.
Luckily I have a lovely husband who brought me a box of crackers and a large bowl before he had to leave for work.
Trying (and failing) to see it as a good thing suggesting that something really is in there!

Allstoppedup · 05/02/2015 16:24

Not having many symptoms after having lots with my first so I'm feeling a bit worried now. Think I'm at about 6 weeks after the last clear blue digital test and working out our ahem, potential dates.

Feeling very anxious but can't really afford an early scan and know that it won't affect the outcome anyway. Confused

Bleh, can't help feeling excited and have told my family as the live far away and I'm visiting and now I'm just feeling nervous!

Sad
Abillewis8 · 05/02/2015 16:48

Hi CluelessDil,

I am 5 weeks pregnant too, so really only 5 minutes in scheme of things. Absolutely petrified at the moment, constantly reading into every twinge and feeling. Hubby and I want to scream from the tree tops our news, we're very happy but I am consistently worrying about the what if's! We've agreed that we'll speak with parents soon but unsure of anyone else at the mo.

I had to make excuses last night and turn down drinks with work friends, very unlike me and seemed to have developed paranoia that someone will read in to my constant decline of initiations! I'm usually really outgoing! Would love to help each other on this journey! Smile

DoctorDonnaNoble · 05/02/2015 16:52

Got a scan at the EPU tomorrow at 3pm. Now nervous and feeling sick. What if it's a blighted ovum like last time.Hmm
