I thought the 2 week wait was bad, anyone else in first 12 weeks?

Hi all

I'm about 5 mins pregnant (4 weeks) very excited but also terrified. I'm not generally a worrier but I'm just so desperate to get to 12 weeks, I also can't wait to share the news.

I wondered if anyone else is in the same boat who would like to chat here until there 12 weeks is up? I found it quite comforting on the ttc board to keep returning to the same thread.

Also wondering who you have told and what your experience was like? My DH was over the moon but I've regretted telling my line manager, she's very sensible and said things like don't tell anyone else (I wasn't planning to) and that miscarriage rates are much higher than I think - this hasn't helped my worry! I only told her because I had some flights coming up that I wanted to change to train journeys and I thought I'd just be honest about needing time off for appointments.

Anyway I'm rambling, mostly it would be nice to ask those of you in the same position questions like how you are planning to cover non drinking at big events etc

It would be nice to 'meet' some fellow pregnant ladies Smile

The worst thing for me has been the tiredness. At the weekend I was in bed and sleeping by 10pm both nights and last night I was in bed just after 9. I work in an office so not exactly too tiring and I was thinking how do people in retail/nursing/jobs on your feet all day cope at this stage?!

Boobs have also been in agony so dr google has recommended a cotton maternity bra for sleeping because even rolling over woke me up, they do seem to have eased up today though.

My morning sickness is more just like mild nausea that seems to be worse as soon as I've woken up and makes me feel a bit dizzy but thankfully nothing more.

I was really tempted to tell a friend at work yesterday but I'm only 6+2 and thought its a long time for her to keep quiet too plus we have mutual friends so they might be a bit put out.

Makes me thankful that I can at least come on here and chat to all of you. I'm on the phone so can't see who said their mil and fil have told lots of people at an early stage- hope you are ok, it's a small comfort but I suppose it just means they are so excited but I'd be upset too.

I'm around 4 weeks and 5 days. My knickers are the least of my problems I've been testing everyday Blush I wasn't this bad the first time round!!

crazycatlady82 · 10/02/2015 19:22

Hi

Can I join?

Delighted to hear about everyone's experiences so far Smile

I am 4 weeks and 2 days pregnant. We had been trying for 2 years and nothing so I had pretty much given up. I took my test as I do every month, then fed the cats, did the dishes and wend back to look and OMG!!! It was POSITIVE!!!!

Then I did 6 more, just to be sure... Husband was out for a run so i had to wait for him to come back.

We are both in shock but getting used to it. I still think it's happe to someone else and want a glass of wine to get over the shock... But alas no wine for another 8 months.

I had some spotting on the day my period was due and now cramping but still no blood.

Any thoughts would be great. It's my first pregnancy and so early I am a bit nervous about miscarriage Confused

Xx

hello again...

good to catch up on what's been happening!

after feeling that all symptoms had gone we booked an early scan - after 2.5 years of trying I still don't believe it's happening and need to know I'm not imagining it all!

Scan is tomorrow, I'll be 6+6. And the same as everyone else, I'm convinced there will be nothing there...

However, since booking the scan my boobs have been painful again, and now I think I may be hitting the wall of tiredness... and a fair bit of nausea and indigestion. So I'm hoping those are all good signs, despite the fact that they make me feel rubbish!

HotPot - congrats! I tested way more this time than 5 years ago with our first... it's like an addiction, but have managed to stop now!
CatLady - congrats! I had cramps right around 4-5 weeks too, but then they tailed off, hope yours are just part of the delights of early bean-carrying.

MrsEvansAlmost · 10/02/2015 20:58

had any one had like severe pain whilst DTD? dp was rather energetic tonight and we reckon it's just because everything is moving (and Google!) rust out happened but my Christ I thought I was losing the bean! I've never felt passion like it

MrsEvansAlmost · 10/02/2015 20:59

error not Passion I meant pain!

I don't think I'd worry if it was passion I felt! this was more like someone had their hand up my grumble sand were trying to pull my insides out!

pinkie87 · 10/02/2015 22:20

Haha mrsevans what a great typo!!

Cremeegg I am sure everything will be fine with your scan. Glad you are in a positive frame of mind.

Nice to hear how everyone is getting on. It's now only 6 days until my 12 week scan. I'm itching to tell a friend at work but I've waited this long I may just hang on til the scan. Current unwelcome symptom is bloating and wind. Joy. No sickness though so of course that's worrying me. Ah well. Each day is one step closer! :)

3cupsoftea · 10/02/2015 23:17

Signing in to chat...
6 weeks today.
First pregnancy ended in mc, second resulted in beautiful DS now three. I feel really positive about this pregnancy but also keen to get to the scan.
Keep poking my boobs to make sure they are still sore!

Fizzy13 · 11/02/2015 14:04

I'm impressed you're making it to 10pm Clueless I've been tucked up by 8:30 for the last two weeks!
MS if FAR worse when I'm tired and sleeping more seems to be working and letting me get to work on time.

first time mummy here too!! good luck for a long and boring 7 months of pregnancy!

aries92 · 12/02/2015 13:59

MrsEvansAlmost Good luck to you too! It's nice to have a first timer who's the same age. Were you ttc or was it a scary lovely surprise?

MelB2014 · 12/02/2015 14:54

Hi everyone - congratulations to you all!

I'm joining in if I may. I am 5 + 5 at the moment. Bit worried due to having a miscarriage at 8w in early December (wasn't expecting to get pregnant again immediately after!).

I have been spotting a bit so my GP has referred me to the EPU for an early scan tomorrow which is hopefully just for reassurance (fingers crossed).

Other than that I have lots more symptoms than last time, my boobs are really hurting, I feel nauseous and I could sleep face down at my desk even 2 hours after getting to work each morning. Never felt so exhausted!

MrsEvansAlmost · 12/02/2015 15:54

Aries um neither we weren't trying but weren't being overly cautious! both of us were sick when we found out!!/whoops!!!!

Teaching123 · 12/02/2015 20:13

Ugh. I've been having stomach cramps today. After having my scan go so well Saturday I'm so worried now :( trying not to think about it & "what will be will be" but I'm so worried.

Teaching123 · 12/02/2015 20:14

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow MelB

MelB2014 · 13/02/2015 08:40

Thanks Teaching. Try not to worry about the cramps (although I know that is much easier said than done!). I get them every so often and I can't help but worry however I keep getting assured that it can be quite normal.

I feel really nauseous today and I am quietly hopeful that this is a really good thing, I didn't really get any MS last time but at the moment I am right off food that isn't carbs or cheese and can't stand strong smells. I am told this is a good sign...

dancewiththetreedoug · 13/02/2015 20:47

Hi ladies, can I join in please?
I did a clearblue today which said 1 -2 weeks, am I right in thinking that I'll be dated at 3 - 4 weeks? Trying to work out when to book my midwife appt for! I have a DS already who's nearly 3, I feel like I've forgotten EVERYTHING! Hmm

pinkie87 · 13/02/2015 21:18

Congratulations! Yes until your dating scan your pregnancy will be dated from your last period.

Mrswire123 · 13/02/2015 21:53

Hello. Can I join in please? I'm 4 weeks 5 days. This is my 2nd but I've got a big age gap so forgotten how worrying the wait to the first scan is. I'm also googling everything and stressing about the cramping I'm getting which I can't remember having with my first born.

dancewiththetreedoug · 13/02/2015 23:01

Thanks pinkie Smile

albazavi · 14/02/2015 15:12

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm 6 weeks today, surprise pregnancy a few years earlier than we thought. I'm very excited and OH is coming around and starting to get excited now.

2- when are you due?- 10th October
3 -how long were you ttc? - we weren't...
4-where are you?- at home chilling out
5 who is at home- hubby and two naughty kitty cats
6- what kind of birth do you want? water I think but a bit scared to start thinking
7- have you thought of names?- Yes! Me and OH do not agree, he'll end up getting his way...
8- will you find out the sex?- definitely, I'm too impatient
9- what's your current occupation?- English teacher, HOD
10- what symptoms do you have?- I had sore boobs for the last two weeks but this is going now, moving into nausea stage but not sick...

Desperately trying to keep it a secret and not get too excited at this stage. ...did buy some too cute booties today though (they were on sale!)

dillydollydarling · 14/02/2015 16:39

Exactly 12 weeks today Grin got my first scan on Monday so will see if dates are right. Still doesn't feel real though!

Isithappening · 14/02/2015 17:56

Can I join. I got a positive HPT yesterday after more than four years TTC. It's going to be a very anxious wait until the 12 week mark. I think I am around 5 weeks. DH is delighted.
I wasn't this anxious with my other babies (more than a decade ago) but they were both conceived within 4 months and I was a lot younger.

pinkie87 · 14/02/2015 22:20

Having an emotional day, just getting teary at everything! 2 days until the scan. Can't work out if excitement or nervousness is winning right now...
