I thought the 2 week wait was bad, anyone else in first 12 weeks?

Hi all

I'm about 5 mins pregnant (4 weeks) very excited but also terrified. I'm not generally a worrier but I'm just so desperate to get to 12 weeks, I also can't wait to share the news.

I wondered if anyone else is in the same boat who would like to chat here until there 12 weeks is up? I found it quite comforting on the ttc board to keep returning to the same thread.

Also wondering who you have told and what your experience was like? My DH was over the moon but I've regretted telling my line manager, she's very sensible and said things like don't tell anyone else (I wasn't planning to) and that miscarriage rates are much higher than I think - this hasn't helped my worry! I only told her because I had some flights coming up that I wanted to change to train journeys and I thought I'd just be honest about needing time off for appointments.

Anyway I'm rambling, mostly it would be nice to ask those of you in the same position questions like how you are planning to cover non drinking at big events etc

It would be nice to 'meet' some fellow pregnant ladies Smile

Great news DrDonna and good luck Teaching, sure will be fine! Thinking of you! :)

I never thought I'd be so grateful to feel quite so crap. All day nausea now and terrible in the evenings particularly. No appetite but feel truly awful if I don't eat. Can only contemplate plain cars, cheddar ,fizzy sweets and tic tacs.

Just been to the loo and there was some pink when I wiped. I'm now freaking out and tearful.

Treaclepie19 · 06/02/2015 23:07

Oh pinkie try not too worry. I know that's impossible.
Sending hugs.

I've just had something odd. Just noticed a tiny dark red mark on the toilet roll on wiping... but (and this may sound silly) I don't think it was from me. I think it was on the toilet roll already.
Trying to keep calm. Honestly don't think it was from my body.

pinkie87 · 06/02/2015 23:12

Thank you treaclepie. It was only a little bit so I am trying to be rational. I have no pain at all.

It probably was already on the loo roll, I think you would know if it came from you. try not to over think it. :)

DoctorDonnaNoble · 07/02/2015 07:30

We're telling my mum today and PIL tomorrow. Starting to feel like I'm actually growing a person now!

Treaclepie19 · 07/02/2015 07:35

Thanks pinkies :)
Hope you're ok this morning?

Excited for you doctordonna :)

Kym134 · 07/02/2015 08:54

I told my mother last night (no way I could keep it from her as she normally buys me wine and I am being quite sick) but she is so so excited it is making me worry less and excited too. She has told most of the family though Hmm although my cousin had a couple of mc and the family would be supportive if anything happened, we are really close. Defiantly makes me feel more pregnant!

dotladotla · 07/02/2015 09:45

I'm 6 and a half weeks (according to my app) and only found out on Monday. Told my parents, the in-laws and my sister but already bursting to tell everyone else!

pinkie87 · 07/02/2015 11:34

Morning treaclepie, feeling much better this morning and no more pink. So fingers crossed!

Treaclepie19 · 07/02/2015 11:34

That's good to hear :)

Teaching123 · 07/02/2015 14:23

Great news teaching! Smile

CluelessDil · 07/02/2015 17:55

Kym that's lovely, I was saying to DH today I wonder if our family members will be hurt that we didn't confide in them until after the 12 week scan, we are not planning to say anything until then but now I'm wondering again if it's the right thing

I think it depends on your parents clueless because mine and dh's were apprehensive when we told them.
Obviously after miscarrying last time that's understandable but we told them so they'd support us. They're coming round now but I did wonder if we made a mistake telling them.

dotladotla · 08/02/2015 11:22

I think my parents are now worried that they have to keep it quiet for 6 weeks!

MrsEvansAlmost · 09/02/2015 00:33

my mother in law has told all her friends Im pg!! I'm only 6+3 I'd hate to have to see them all (I live next door to mil currently) if this bean doesn't stick! its not her place to say!! also fil has told all his rellies too!! what happened to waiting until I've said anything?!/Sad Sad

Fizzy13 · 10/02/2015 10:20

How is everyone getting on with morning sickness?
I'm having to move really slowly when I get up and my walk to work is taking forever! I feel like I'm causing my own motion sickness if I walk too fast.

cremeeggboycotter · 10/02/2015 15:34

I'm getting motion sickness, makes me dizzy. I had a small bleed today so I'm going for a scan to check everything is ok. I'm hopefull, the doc reassured me by telling me that nothing I did could have caused it and if the worst happens the again nothing I did caused that and nothing I do can stop it- made me feel better in a way to know it's all out of my control.

Teaching123 · 10/02/2015 15:54

Hope it's ok cremeegg.

I feel awful, I keep googling things like "HOW DO I STOP THIS MORNING SICKNESS" .... All in caps so google really knows I'm serious.

It is. So. So. Bad.

scarednoob · 10/02/2015 16:00

and here i am, feeling terribly worried that i don't have any MS at all. no wonder men say women are never happy!!

SummerGrace · 10/02/2015 16:08

Many of the early pregnancy units in most hospitals will give you reassurance scans if you ask. Talk to your gp but be warned.that you'll have to convince them that you have a reason to be concerned. If you have symptoms of something not quite right even if it's just a vague feeling something's up, you can generally walk in to an early pregnancy unit and ask to be seen tho I would probably call first...

cremeeggboycotter · 10/02/2015 17:07

Teaching123, thank you.

My friend swore by lemongrss and ginger tea, mint tea and those cracker crisp things that you get from Tesco/sainsbury, the salted kind. Don't know if any of those may help?
