Hi all

I'm about 5 mins pregnant (4 weeks) very excited but also terrified. I'm not generally a worrier but I'm just so desperate to get to 12 weeks, I also can't wait to share the news.

I wondered if anyone else is in the same boat who would like to chat here until there 12 weeks is up? I found it quite comforting on the ttc board to keep returning to the same thread.

Also wondering who you have told and what your experience was like? My DH was over the moon but I've regretted telling my line manager, she's very sensible and said things like don't tell anyone else (I wasn't planning to) and that miscarriage rates are much higher than I think - this hasn't helped my worry! I only told her because I had some flights coming up that I wanted to change to train journeys and I thought I'd just be honest about needing time off for appointments.

Anyway I'm rambling, mostly it would be nice to ask those of you in the same position questions like how you are planning to cover non drinking at big events etc

It would be nice to 'meet' some fellow pregnant ladies Smile

I already feel so much better for reading all the posts - well most of them.......pretty hard to keep track - but good to know how many paranoid sisters I have (grin). Second concern of the hour no sickness yet and 2 days off 7 weeks. Anyone else been there in the past and still had a healthy full term baby?

TakingTheStairs · 28/01/2015 18:15

Phenomum. Brown discharge is okay, I believe. Brown/red indicates that its older blood not fresh bleeding.
Congratulations btw!

DefinitelyNotElsa · 28/01/2015 18:46

Can I join you all too? Am 5+2 today and cannot bloody wait for the first 12 weeks to be over already. Manic knicker checking, googling and questioning of symptoms have increasingly become normal behaviour.

I'm a teacher and had to tell one of the TAs I work with as I felt so thoroughly grim this morning. It felt weird to tell someone - it sone how makes it all seem real!

Crystal049 · 28/01/2015 20:01

Hi guys

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and got my scan next week, counting down the days. Does anyone else imagine that nothing is going to be in there? I'm terrified that will be the case with me ha! I have been so lucky and I haven't got any nausea so not really felt that difference except for tired and boobs hurting. X

Teaching123 · 28/01/2015 20:04

Evening ladies. Might need some reminding why I'm so excited about a baby and doing all this again with a 4yo and being on my own!! 8pm and just sat down! At least I've had a day free from symptom worrying - oh, and I think I have piles again! All the things my rosé tinted memory had blocked out from last time!

Definitelynotelsa - as a fellow teacher I feel you - I've been running out to the toilet fairly frequently - my bladder can no longer go 100mins it seems!

pinkie87 · 28/01/2015 21:13

I'm totally with you here! 9 weeks today and it is going so achingly slowly. Had a scan at 5+6 and saw a little heartbeat but that was so long ago now it feels! my symptoms aren't TOO bad either so I'm constantly panicking about MMC. :( 2 weeks 5 days til my dating scan.

hestialou · 28/01/2015 21:38

Hello 5+5 today and so happy to read this thread and realise I am normal and googling every symptom is fine Smile I would just like to be able to tell people why constantly cancelling or refusing nights out..have had horrid sickness and one night I stayed out til 9 am suffered awfully from it all night and the next day at work (who assumed I was hungover lol)

CluelessDil · 28/01/2015 22:28

Evening all, checking in a bit late as we were visiting family tonight. I was so paranoid I was going to say something I shouldn't. At least that's another day down! Letters came through for my appointments (midwife and scan) so that makes it all feel more real. Had a panicked moment when I thought I saw spotting but it turns out it was a teeny bit of pee Blush black underwear is no longer my friend!!

I've compiled a wee list of questions for us to pass the time to get to know each other better! Just if you fancy it. It's so lovely that there is so many of us.

Feel free to tell outrageous lies to protect your identity, mine are all true apart from one, I'm not telling which one, you'll have to work it out for yourself Grin

  1. How old are now/on your due date 31/32

Hi all!! I'm 7(ish) weeks & going a bit demented with all day nausea, boobs that are surely going to explode if anything comes within 100 miles of them & oh holy crap the tiredness. Any ideas when this chills out?
Loving these posts though - totally brightened my day :)

CluelessDil · 28/01/2015 23:16

Hi laura what's truly scary is I'm a teeny bit jealous of those of you with morning sickness! I'm sure I'll regret saying that. Weirdly I'm wide awake tonight, yesterday I couldn't wait to go to sleep..... what does it all mean?!

4. Where are you? West Sussex
5 Who is at home calming/testing your nerves? DH, 2 cats and 2 rabbits! (It's like a zoo!)

8. Will you find out the sex? Yes. Too impatient not to.
9. What's your current occupation? Scientist
10. What symptoms do you have? Mainly exhaustion. Tender boobs. Sometimes nausea but it's manageable as long as I eat everything regularly.

ImpatiencePersonified · 29/01/2015 08:42

Ruddy hell you lot have been busy.
So today is momentous... AFTER 5 DAYS I HAVE PRODUCED POO! It's the small (or large) things that make me happy.

Ohhh I do love a questionnaire and how chuffing interesting is being a scientist pinkie... Also I used to live in Worthing! I was tempted to make up something more glamorous but knowing my luck I would be found out and red faced within 10 minutes. So here goes;

1. How old are now/on your due date? I'll be 34 in a week... I feel about 54
2. When is your due date? 24th September
3. how long were you ttc? 11 months
4. Where are you? On my chair, in my office, in Fife, Scotland, UK, World, Universe etc. etc. etc.
5 Who is at home calming/testing your nerves? Good old hubs and two furry arsehole Ragdoll cats
6. What kind of birth would you like? I genuinely haven't given it any thought, I never thought I would fall preggo... would be happy enough with copious amounts of drugs, very little pain and a fully intact vagina though
7. Have you thought about names? A lil, like pinkie I have some ideas for girls but am struggling with boys
8. Will you find out the sex? Hell yes, how am I supposed to get the nursery looking right otherwise?
9. What's your current occupation? If I said my job title you'd be none the wiser but I basically make sure managers in the firm I work for follow HR regs and people development (I work in a hugggggggeeee firm and HR and other key departments are very hands off)
10. What symptoms do you have? Worryingly not a lot, but then I'm only 6 weeks (today...eeek). I have slightly tender nipples and am enjoying sleep but not dead on my feet. I hope I graduate to more convincing symptoms soon

fixuplooksharp · 29/01/2015 09:34

Ooh I love a lil questionnaire :)
1.How old are you now/on due date? 34/35
2.When is your due date? 27th September
3.How long were you ttc? 1 month
4.Where are you? In my office at work in Suffolk
5.Who is at home? DH and two gorgeous DS's
6.What kind of birth would you like? Water I think, although judging by the speed of previous labours/birth I'll be lucky to make it to hospital
7.Have you thought about names? Yep, I am a maniac manic list writer and have a list for this :)
8.Will you find out the sex? Yes I can't wait to find out
9.What's your current occupation? Master of Googling and self taught doctor who can diagnose everything using the internet ;)
10.What symptoms do you have? Sore boobs, seriously tired, don't really fancy food until the evening, generally feeling abit icky! Have had ridiculously painful cramping too.

I am quite new to this so who knows if the bolds will be bold when I hit 'post message' Fingers crossed :)

pinkie87 · 29/01/2015 10:28

Thanks impatience but it's really not as interesting as it sounds. :p Ah Worthing is really not far from me at all.

Struggling to hold off telling my boss. Currently feeling nauseous and in a room that I can't leave (to pee, drink or puke) for the next two hours. What to doooo?

SianyC84 · 29/01/2015 10:31

new to mumsnet and would like join in! I'm 5 weeks+1 with my first and still can't quite believe it. Had it confirmed with doctor so I have lost the urge to keep peeing on sticks. My fixation has now moved to knicker checking and I will even go to the loo to check when I don't really need a pee. And seeing as I need to pee a lot I basically live in there at the moment! But so glad I'm not alone ?? I'm finding it hard not to worry about MMC and every twinge sends me on yet another knicker checking run. Thankfully so far it has just been trapped wind (sorry for TMI). I think I will be certified insane by 12 weeks if the last week is anything to go by! Though my DH thinks I am already!
Loved the questions clueless ??

1.How old are you now/on due date? 30/31
2.When is your due date? 1st Oct
3.How long were you ttc? We weren't just got lazy with contraceptive (but thrilled I am)
4.Where are you? In Australia on a years visa (this will certainly shorten the trip)
5.Who is at home? My DH
6.What kind of birth would you like? Not sure. Don't know enough yet
7.Have you thought about names? Yes, I said I wouldn't but instantly cracked
8.Will you find out the sex? Nope!
9.What's your current occupation? Temp (it sucks)
10.What symptoms do you have? idd but of nausea, tired, contains peeing, slightly sore boobs and major bloating

OMGBabyNo3 · 29/01/2015 10:34

GoooRooo · 29/01/2015 10:52

I'm 5 + 4 and it is draaaaaaaagging. I had a miscarriage last April so I'm so anxious and have booked a private scan for 8 + 4.

We've told close friends and our families but are holding off telling anyone else until at least that scan, and maybe not until 12 weeks. We told EVERYONE last time and it was hideous having to explain I lost the baby.

coley170 · 29/01/2015 10:59

I'm about 5 minutes pregnant too, just 4 weeks + 3 days, I'm in disbelief, literally found out 5 mins ago & I'm in shock, been ttc since August 2014 + thought this day would never come x

fixuplooksharp · 29/01/2015 11:01
