Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

That's funny Broody, did you enjoy telling your family?

Thepurplegiraffe · 14/01/2015 21:58

Sorry meant to say hello Mama, I also mc in September and know exactly how you feel, it does get a tiny bit easier as time goes on. Fingers crossed for you.

MamaLazarou · 14/01/2015 22:02

Thank you so much, thepurplegiraffe.

I am hungry but can only manage small things, if I have big meals I feel terrible, I also feel terrible if I don't eat regular enough. I am grazing throughout the day, kind of snacking every couple of hours, little and often seems to be best for me x I am also so tired and falling asleep all the time x

longestlurkerever · 14/01/2015 23:35

I am still in the starving camp though less than in first trimester. Didn't fancy meat much though. Had beans and lentils for most meals.

Welcome giraffe. 14 weeks is very early for movement and I would expect it to be sporadic for a while yet.

Wave to other newbies too.

twilightstruggle · 15/01/2015 06:14

Just got my 3+ this morning at 5+1. That feels positive, as with the the early early miscarriages I've had I never got to 3+. Feels like my first proper hurdle is crossed Smile - many more to come but today I am pregnant!

All I want is fruit and vegetables - but I'm not sure that's a craving so much as wanting to eat healthily. Although I do keep really fancying butternut squash, sweet potato and avocado. I'd say my appetite is reduced on balance though. Usually I'm a bit of a pig!

twilightstruggle · 15/01/2015 06:15

Oh, I've really gone off the taste of salt though now I think of it.

thesmallbear · 15/01/2015 06:23

Is it normal to have fairly bad period type pains at 16 weeks? feel like I need painkillers Sad

Treaclepie19 · 15/01/2015 07:22

smallbear I wish I could help but I really don't know. Hopefully someone wise will be along soon xxx

Feeling really stupid.

Did a test this morning as it's been 3 days and I thought I'd get good progression. All its done is make me worry as the line doesn't look darker and maybe not as dark.
Bearing in mind the other one has sat for 3 days changing colour.
Slaps needed :/

broodylicious · 15/01/2015 07:55

purple, we only told dd, DH's parents, my sister and DH's brother yesterday - all truly delighted (bar dd, as below!) We are going to see my folks on Saturday morning so will tell them then. I'm seeing my bestie on Sunday for lunch, which will be squealy and screechy because she got engaged on Christmas Day and will be even more happy when she hears about the baby.

silverine · 15/01/2015 08:12

Congrats on all the lovely scan news, ladies! Long may it continue! X

DoctorDonnaNoble · 15/01/2015 08:12

treacle consider yourself slapped!
I hate POAS so have no desire to do it again at the moment. I did a CB digital (but not one that tells you weeks) it said it could take up to three minutes and there were up to 4 flashy bars it went through while it was thinking I believe. Mine only got to the 2nd bar and then said the magic word so I'm choosing to go down the 'today I'm pregnant' line and leave it at that.
Hopefully going out for dinner with DH tonight which will be nice.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 15/01/2015 08:14

smallbear again not sure - never got that far. Someone will be along soon though.

CommanderShepard · 15/01/2015 08:20

treacle I don't want to slap you, but I do want to gently remove the pee sticks from your hands :)

HPTs don't tell you anything other than there is HCG in your urine. The Clearblue conception indicator doodads are notoriously unreliable and seem to cause so much worry and stress that I hate that they're on the market. The only really reliable indicator is two blood tests ~48 hours apart.

thesmallbear In my experience yes; I had some cramping at that time and a bit of old blood too, which I think was left over from a bleed I had at 12 weeks.

Aaaaand I've just been sick. Lovely. 5 weeks on the nose. In that weird zone of 'please please please don't let this be hyperemesis again' and 'I can manage hyperemesis if it means there'll be a baby at the end of it' with a little 'hurray I have symptoms' - it's busy in my little brain!

Got brave and booked my booking-in appointment this morning, which round here is done by the GP. Just got to get through the next 3 weeks now. In the meantime, I want to go home :(

DoctorDonnaNoble · 15/01/2015 09:15

Just got call from midwife - booking in appointment 4th February!

longestlurkerever · 15/01/2015 09:23

commander I hope you find just the right balance between sick enough to reassure and not sick enough to feel awful.

Waiting in children's centre to see midwife and get matb1. They are setting up for the baby group. Feeling teary thinking I will be bringing dd2 here soon.

GailLondon · 15/01/2015 10:59

Hello everyone! Some lovely scan news broody! And im sure I've missed some others with the thread changing over.

38 weeks here, nothing happening, which is fine, would like to hold out for another week and enjoy this break from work!

happygojo · 15/01/2015 11:02

Hiya I POAS about 25 times this time (largely due to getting Amazon cheapies at 15 for £3) and then buying another brand of cheapy in case it was an Evap line, then getting 2 First response and I also did 3 digis to see me through 1-2, 2-3 and 3+ and then I found some left overs from last time and did them because it is fun to see the line come up..... My bf has no idea how much money I spent on HPTs. Basically treacle there is no judgement here. I am now 9+4 and I haven't POAS since before Christmas so the urge to inspect those are sticks does reduce xxx

happygojo · 15/01/2015 11:02

That's probably more than 25.... I didn't keep count!

CommanderShepard · 15/01/2015 11:33

Work BFF has worked it out, mostly because our relationship revolves around him making me tea and I've not been able to face any this week. The git is now smug because we argued in the pub that since I work with all blokes now, none of them would have a clue I was pregnant before I told them (unlike my last job, where people guessed v early on) and he argued vociferously that he would know before I told him. Smug smug smug. Have sworn him to secrecy.

charlieis30, is it your scan today? Wishing you so much luck Flowers

Anyone have any tips for pg safe cold remedies? I'm heading home from work with a cough and cough and feeling rubbish, I suppose just rest and warmth are the best treatments?
