Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

Eeeeek good luck baby!!

Thanks for the hugs ladies. It is difficult to try and be strong and believe me, I spent many hours yesterday crying or close to tears (not a good look when you're on holiday!) but I'm trying to be positive because we know we will be having this baby whatever. And when I think about the threads I've been on in the last year or so, looked at the stats list on here about how many babies some of you have lost to get to this point, I realise how very lucky I am to have a gorgeous dd and am now expecting another dc. That sounds so cheesy and smug but I'm sure ykwim!

Boozle80 · 11/02/2015 07:42

Oh my word Baby this is super exciting! Somehow I missed it too! Good luck, very, very exciting - baby snuggles soon!

Good luck *baby!!!
How exciting :)

Thanks sunbathing, 8+3 today. Keeping my fingers crossed all is ok.

HollyBen · 11/02/2015 08:18

Good luck today baby I am so excited for you!! It's natural to be nervous. Lots of deep breathing to combat that adrenaline.

37+2 today. Managed to drop my phone down the toilet yesterday (it was in my back pocket and fell out after I had flushed and stood up). Cue panic and mild hysteria. I am useless with phone numbers I only know my mobile and parents home number. So I was really worried something would happen and I'd have no way of contacting DH. An emergency dash to the Vodafone shop and I have an additional SIM card that fits an old BlackBerry so can call and text.

I am hoping baby will stay where it is until around 39 weeks as I am not organised. I am due to be induced on my edd but really want to use midwife led birth centre so need to go into spontaneous labour for that. DD was born at 40+11 so not overly hopeful but starting sweeps next week so fingers (but not legs) crossed

broodylicious · 11/02/2015 08:26

sunbathing, we will probably go to hospital for a consultation when we are back home but yes, definitely refusing any further tests. Only one I'd consider is harmony as it's non invasive and wouldn't pose risk of mc but the cost is Confused.

Thinking of you today treacle xxxx

gingerbreadmam · 11/02/2015 08:57

good luck baby soon be having newborn snuggles. thinking of u!

Mslad · 11/02/2015 09:07

Go for it baby! We're all cheering you on from here. Can't wait to hear updates. xxx

Littlelady33 · 11/02/2015 11:04

Broody sending you hugs and think your attitude is wonderful. The odds are still in your favour but it is upsetting news which you're handling wonderfully. I'm increasingly baffled as to why they can't offer the harmony test on the NHS rather than put women through this. My hospital is running a trial so although my risk was very low I was given a harmony test at 12wks. They are definitely thinking of rolling it out nationally and IMO they should get their arses into gear on that a bit.

MelB2014 · 11/02/2015 11:39

Good luck baby!

I am having a major wibble. This morning there was a tiny bit of brownish blood when I wiped. I know this can happen but after what happened last time (I had drops of blood before my MC) I am panicking.

I am only 5.5 weeks so it is still really early. I got to 7 before it went wrong last time.

Good luck Baby!

Mel I hope everything is OK. Like you say, there are plenty of people on this thread who that has happened to and it has been totally fine, but I understand your worry. Do you have an early scan booked?

Broody - yet more hugs. xx

MelB2014 · 11/02/2015 14:35

No I don't have an early scan booked, I have even put off going to see my GP because I am just so worried about the whole thing and it might seem less 'real' if it goes wrong and I'm not in the system. I miscarried 36 hours after my GP appointment last time.

How easy is it to get an early scan?

Littlelady33 · 11/02/2015 14:39

Mel you poor thing it's so worrying isn't it? Where are you based? You might be able to get an early scan at your local EPU otherwise you could pay for a private scan, they start at around £100 in London. At 5.5 it might be a little early, my EPU saw me at 7 weeks. Turned out I was only about 6.5 but they could see plenty. Do you know what your EPU's policy is?

longestlurkerever · 11/02/2015 15:00

Mel if you're having bleeding after a previous loss then I think the EPU would see you. The only thing is that at 5.5 there may well be no heartbeat anyway so I am not sure what it would tell you - they would probably tell you to come back again next week to see if it had grown.

Sorry to be morbidly practical, and I really hope and expect this not to be the case, but if it does go wrong it is best recorded as it helps if you ever need to push for testing and things.

All the best. x

Littlelady33 · 11/02/2015 15:19

Longest I'm sure that's right - previous MC plus some bleeding they normally should see you, the only issue is whether it's a little early to tell

MelB2014 · 11/02/2015 15:23

Thank you, I am sure you are right so I will go and phone the GP. I'm in Warwickshire so it's the Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital EPU that dealt with me last time (which was only at the start of December).

My husband keeps telling me to just not stress about it but it's just so hard not to! It's only the tiniest bit of bleeding at the moment so hopefully it won't get any worse, but that niggling thought is very hard to ignore.

Treaclepie19 · 11/02/2015 19:04

They should see you mel.
Normally they will see you from 6 weeks but it's worth seeing the doctor.

I hope it's all ok x

Hope everything is ok ladies!

I made it to 8+4 :) I feel this is a real achievement :)

DoctorDonnaNoble · 12/02/2015 07:54

Nice one Treacle! I'm at 9 weeks today and feeling pretty crappy. Wonder if I'll get away with napping at the back on my course today.
