I'm really struggling with the posifrickintivity this time around. I'm further than I've ever got before, but my symptoms have started to taper off and I just don't "feel" pregnant, other than the occasional dizzy spell. Saw my GP yesterday and asked her what the likelihood of MC'ing between weeks 10 and 12 when I had a good scan at 10 and she said "well you never know"... NOT the reassuring answer I needed! I know that on balance everything is probably fine but I just can't get my head to accept that. I honestly can't see when I'm going to feel better about it all... when I'm holding a baby, maybe? I'm trying to be excited and positive, I know I can't plan for failure so I might as well try to enjoy it, so I've bought some baby clothes but I still feel worried all the time.

Sorry for the downer, some days are better than others y'know?!?!

I hear you charlie, I'm still the same at 33 weeks! If it's any consolation, it is really common to have symptoms drop off at this stage. Try not to worry too much, and try to hold on to the hopefulness x

Good luck to everyone with scans!

Big congrats calling!

charlie, I'm the same hun. I've my scan tomorrow and I can honestly say I've never been more petrified. I am trying to stay positive by thinking how I'll break the good news to family and friends but there's still a horrid nagging there. Hang in there hun, less than 48 hours to go for you now xxx

And Engles congratulations, that is such lovely news!

longestlurkerever · 13/01/2015 12:37

Congratulations Calling! Lovely news.

All good at my 20 week scan. Such a relief and we're having another girl. Secretly a tiny bit pleased. Think I even have a name picked out for a girl.

Charlie would it be worth sneaking ib a private reassurance scan before he goes or has he left already? After a healthy 10.5 week scan I was more worried about thent results really but you get the combined results in the post most places.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. lurker he's gone already, and he wasn't even at the 10w scan as it was just a quickie at my booking in.

50 hours to go argh (although given waiting times at hospital, I'm guessing it will be more than that!)

MIL has taken it upon herself to call me every day while DH is away and is hassling me to go and stay with them. They are very lovely but I'm much more comfortable in my own flat with my own friends nearby. Plus if I say I'm "fine" she says "really fine or are you just trying to be polite?" I understand that she's trying to help but I'm like "of course I'm FINE, I'm not bloody AMAZING because your son is away and I'm terrified of miscarrying again but I'm doing my bloody best OK? But I'm way too polite for that so it's all "thanks for calling, yes I'm seeing a friend for lunch tomorrow I'm great!" ARGH.

rant over...

longest congrats you must be over the moon!
broody is this going to be a 12 week scan?

I was supposed to be 10w5d yesterday but the obgyn that scanned me dated 10w1d? Does that mean anything? I did not think to ask as I was on an emotional rolercoaster.

I have booked a harmony test for later in the week but I'm not sure anymore if I should really do it or not.
It's £400 that we could actually do with.
Has anyone had it/thinking of having it?
Any words of advice?

longestlurkerever · 13/01/2015 13:48

Skinny it's fine. The dates can be out by quite a few days and if there was a hb you know all is well.

Thanks for your good wishes everyone!

Charlie good luck with mil. I honestly think everything is going to be fine for you now.

Littlelady33 · 13/01/2015 14:05

Great news longest! So I'm back in the office after an amazing 12 week scan - baby moving around, sucking his / her thumb generally getting in the way of what the sonographer needed him to do. We are so incredibly happy. I've also had a blood test for Downs (they are doing this as an experiment in some London areas) and I'm under 1/9000. Thank you so much for the support up until now I'm going to start to try to enjoy this pregnancy now! Smile

DoctorDonnaNoble · 13/01/2015 14:08

Yes, having had a previous miscarriage does replace the first trimester excitement with anxiety!
Trying to stick to the 'today, I am pregnant' thing. But it's hard. Felt achey and off all day - just more concerned with my awful memory. I keep forgetting arranging to meet sixthformers some just turned up in my PPA and I had no idea they were coming!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 13/01/2015 14:10

Excellent news littlelady

Congrats calling Grin

Lovely seeing everyone's fab scan news today as well

DoctorDonnaNoble · 13/01/2015 15:04

I know it's ridiculous as I only called them yesterday afternoon (in fact it's impossible) but I'm going to be disappointed when I don't have a letter from the midwives when I get in!

HollyBen · 13/01/2015 15:14

Congratulations engels. I hope you are all adjysting well x

Always good to hear positive scan news too.

33+1 and I swing between disbelief and 'What have we done. I can't cope with another....'

Great news Calling and Longest! Gives us all hope I think Smile

Just debating whether or not to book an early scan at eight weeks. Have decided I should at least wait that long. If other people had an early scan when was it? It'll be private for me as they don't do early scans round here after just one miscarriage unless you have bleeding.

charlieis30 · 13/01/2015 17:04

bb my private 8w scan in pregnancy #2 was the one where we found a problem, given the issue we could easily have got to 12w scan before knowing there was something wrong, so even though it didnt go well I'm glad i did it.
this pregnancy i booked private scan at 8w again, saw healthy baby w hb measuring a couple of days ahead. so yes, i think 8w is ideal.
