Company Christmas 'do last night and managed (I think) to hide lack of drinking. It was a dinner so I just had a full glass of wine in front of me the whole time. But woke up this morning feeling really rough and slept in a couple of hours. How do people actually go to work and act normally through the first tri? Any tips? I don;t really want people to know (although they know about my MCs so I'm sure some people would have put 2 and 2 together!

It's not so much feeling sick which I'm pretty happy about (as others, I find it strangely reassuring) but I don't want to have to deal with others' excitement about the pregnancy when I'm still so scared it will go wrong. It's a small company and my DH is the boss (haha) so missing work isn't a problem with him, but others notice and I'm already paranoid enough about whether I'm perceived to be getting special treatment.

hello ladies. I am just popping in as a graduate of this thread to say hello and tel you to hang on in there. especially the first trimester crowd, when the time really drags. the best advice I got on here was to set small non pregnancy related milestones to break up the weeks.
I am currently feeding my 5.5 month little man and all the anxiety of the pregnancy melts away.

leanne963 · 03/12/2014 19:26

pgchimp the first trimester really really dragged, but from 13 weeks onwards has flown by!

Babytinx11 · 03/12/2014 20:11

I'm out of hospital they have changed my painkillers and I am on profalactic antibiotics until baby is born but if I get sick again they said there is no choice other than to do the stent but trying to hold off for as long as possible. It was much better this time as they actually listened to me which made a huge difference :)

Does anyone know how cuppa is doing??

Hi all. Today I was given my induction date. It will be 10th, if I don't start naturally, but will be 38+1. No sweeps which worries me! Starting to get even more nervous & worried!!!

Cuppachaplz · 04/12/2014 08:23

Morning all

baby that sounds like a decent plan. Fx that they manage to control things until delivery.
Stent placement is keyhole, right? And pretty speedy from what I recall of nephrology lectures... So even if not, hopefull your LO would stay put through a ga. Every day is bonus with complication later on isn't it? Thinking of you. Huge hugs ThanksThanks

pg I remember you from my 1st trimester blues days... Thanks for the support. Are you on the graduate thread? X

liesal good to have a date. Why no sweeps? They were happy to start with me from 37w, but have amended to 38 given date confusion... Baby cuddles in less than a week! Squeeee x

Consultant again today. Traces been fine all week. Have birth plan in place, and have started ante natal expression as advised. Managed 0.8 and 0.9 ml on first attempts. Tiny steps...
Fx for a plan. I have previously been told that I cannot be induced due to previous section, so if they want to deliver early likely ELCS. However neonatologist said that in terms of baby, vaginal birth preferable. I might ask about trying induction with mega monitoring (everything I'm terrified of) and low threshold for change of plan.
Best get my bum in gear...
Sticky hugs to all xx

Babytinx11 · 04/12/2014 11:12

cuppa it is keyhole but as you say the risk is that tge General could mean that she comes early I'm guessing that's why the prophylactic antibiotics the longer she cooks the better to hopefully fend off any infections however lovely the consultants were they were adamant that if I get any infection that's IT the stent has to go in but she is happy and cooking for now :) hope all goes well with your consultants appointment today

Cuppachaplz · 04/12/2014 15:29

Fx for no infection fir you baby, however that seems very logical. IME high utis not nice in pregnancy either, so understand the logic.
If it helps to hear positive stories, I have had 2friends requiring ga for major abdomenal surgery in 2nd and 3rd trimesters respectively. Both maintained the pregnancy and babies were fine. Thinking if you xxx

Consultant admitted me for urgent section. Is scheduled for 5pm and am now nil by mouth...
Baby trace us fine. But cord ri increased again, and slightly reduced movements so wanted to deliver before too distressed. Transverse today, so even without previous section in function was not an option :(
Will keep you all posted x

longestlurkerever · 04/12/2014 16:07

Oh goodness cuppa. Good luck! That bit of your post took me by surprise after reading your advice tobaby. Your selflessness throughout this thread continues to amaze and inspire. Hope all goes well for you. X

Alb1 · 04/12/2014 16:19

Still lurking abit here, just wanted to say good luck cuppa! Hope everything goes smoothly for you! Sounds like your in good hands there with them keeping such a close eye and acting so quickly.

baby sorry to see your still getting sick but glad your little one is still doing well!

Hope everyone else is ok! DS is 12 weeks on Sunday and doing ok! Having some feeding and weight gain problems at the min but he's already tryna sit up and roll over, can't believe how fast it's all gone, the pregnancy seemed to last years!

Were trying to get a post-natal thread going but with us all being at different baby/pregnancy stages its not quite happening yet, but there is a post-natal thread on the post-natal groups section so pleas everyone feel free to track it down when the time comes, il be keeping an eye out to see if anyone else pops up there Smile

Babytinx11 · 04/12/2014 16:41

Thankyou cuppa that's very encouraging :) hope all goes well for your section will be thinking of you Flowers

Wow alb that's gone quick glad your little one is doing well and hope the feeding problems ect are sorted soon

catbus · 04/12/2014 16:55

Oh gosh cuppa thinking of you today and can't wait to hear how perfect baby cup is Smile
baby it's good that they're listening to you and hoping baby is simmering away nicely for a while yet!
liesal wow a date to meet your lo! Perhaps they don't suggest sweep as they're confident about induction?

Had to go to bed with a bucket last night, such was the gagging and nausea. However am nausea free today, which I'm trying to not get flappy about!

Good luck cuppa. Looking forward to hearing the happy baby news soon Smile

Well I have had a right flap today. Went to the loo and some pinky cm on wiping. Freaked out as it's pinky not brown anymore Sad This was just before I was due to have a meeting with my boss. I was going to try and carry on as normal, but my head was just too all over the place. I blurted out 'sorry I'm a bit stressed.' Then I explained why. Boss asked if I wanted to go for a walk. I ended up ringing EPU. They said it didn't sound too concerning but will scan me Saturday morning for reassurance. Am I being way over the top? Don't want to be some hypochondriac unnecessarily wasting NHS resources!

Thanks Tori and Sunbathing. TBH, I wasn't expecting them to offer me a scan. I thought they might just talk some sense into me over the phone. If I'd had time to pull myself together before the meeting, I'd have probably been less dramatic about the whole thing!

Right off to the theatre to see the Nutcracker as a bit of a distraction.

Been bumped until tomorrow as an emergency came in, which I fully understand.
But they won't let me go home overnight. If there hadn't been a theatre slot this afternoon I would gave gone home. So pissed off, and I haven't eaten anything all day now :'(
Sorry to moan, but I think I have only slept in my own bed about 3times in the last 2 weeks, and it doesn't look like that's going yo change for a while yet. :(

Cuppachaplz · 04/12/2014 19:42

Hugs smallbear hope scan goes well. X
