I never seemed to be able to keep up with the Antenatal Threads as they move so so fast, but now im 30weeks I thought it might be nice to have a general thread for those of us currently on the final leg.

Im expecting a boy at the end of October and have a dd who is currently 2y 8m. We had an eleven week loss last year so I am beyond chuffed to have had a so far successful pregnancy. Im starting to get very weary and my chest feels so full of my other organs at the moment!

Just returned from a few days away and realised the next time I use my little weekend bag will be for labour Grin so Im going to start chucking stuff into it over the next few weeks.

I am all for baby staying in as long as they need but am so so keen to just getting this pregnancy over and done with.

Hey all. Not been on here for a while. I am 36+3 and they have booked me in to be induced at 38 weeks due to high blood pressure.
Spent hours in and out of hospital last week... I wrote a blog post about it here

There have been a few babies over on the October thread! Feels very close and very real now!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Who is on maternity leave now? I started mine on Monday. So glad! I was going to try and work this week but I ache sooo much I am enjoying being off.

JuniDD · 16/09/2014 18:44

mrsdino I just read your whole post. YIKES! So sorry for all that waiting around and the nasty midwife, really glad you finally got to see someone who knew what they were about! Hope you can enjoy your leave now and get ready etc. Exciting that you have a date.

I've been on leave for about a month now, got about a month to go! I'm slowing up a lot but have a date for physio which I hope will help with my hip/back pain when it flares up.

For anyone interested - Tesco's doing good deals of Pampers nappies. I bought buy one get one free Pampers Sensitive Newborn (3-6kg) 48 for £10.99 (so 96 for £11
The regular Pampers Newborn is £6.99 - buy one get one free

Looks like this baby thing is getting more and more real
Eek!!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 18/09/2014 15:22

Hey all,
Not been on here again for a while - am now 37+1.
Saw the midwife last Friday who reassuringly told me baby had turned and was now in the 'right' position, poised ready for THE day!!
Baby has been VERY active, think my right insides must be black & blue!!! Some of the movements are huge, you can see them from across the room!! Can be uncomfortable but is very reassuring.
Have finished work now so just on countdown, eek! Can't wait to meet our new bundle of joy!! Smile

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 20/09/2014 17:34

How is everyone today?

Ive had backache for about a week now, which is really wearing me out. Today Im.also getting that horrible "draggy" feeling usually felt around my periods. Aches in my thighs too. Wonder if my body is gearing up for labour.

Hopefully all will stay put til ay least tomorrow.night - my hospital childcare is away til teatime tomorrow!

Hi everyone - feeling a bit down about still being pregnant today, even though I'm only 39+1. Couple of people due after me have given birth in the last week and feeling particularly crap about still sitting here like a whale :(

BumpOct2014 · 20/09/2014 18:48

I'm now 34+5 and after a scan last week, I got good news Smile
Placenta has moved out of the way and baby is no longer measuring large (plus GTT came back normal).
Now I just have to make it theough the next four weeks of work!

Baby is having a whale of a time at the moment. I know what you mean about feeling black and blue on the inside ButterflyofFreedom!

I have my hospital visit tomorrow to look around and everything is starting to seem a bit more real Shock

Hello everyone. Hope you're all ok. 32 weeks today. Appetite really small. So uncomfortable. There isn't a chair in the house I can sit on so sitting on birthing ball ..

pinkteapots · 20/09/2014 20:27

petitverdot I know the feeling. I'm 36+3 today, but I always go well over 40 weeks (this is dc 5) and see others due at the same time go days and even weeks ahead of me! Best i've managed its days late. And boy are those days long and tiring and sore. So you have my sympathies... Flowers

butterfly am a tad jealous, mine is obstinately still breech. Booked for external version on 30th, we'll see how that goes. I hope it works because I really dont want a section.

Hope everyone is doing ok. The last month or two are a total drag...

excitedforbaba · 20/09/2014 20:31

betty I'm also 32 weeks today! So uncomfortable but I haven't bought a ball just yet, lots of wandering around the house not knowing where I'm actually intending to go! Confused

JuniDD · 20/09/2014 20:42

Hello, been on the first day of a marathon NCT and been sat on a hard chair all day. My back and feet are not happy with me! Should get my feet up really ready for another go tomorrow Sad

Feeling ok apart from that, moving from sofa to kneeling to gym ball helps with the no position being comfortable!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 22/09/2014 08:44

2 weeks to go though have a feeling this one may come early (probably just wishful thinking I know!!).

Getting harder & harder to do the most simplest of things now like getting in & out of a car, up & down off a chair etc.! Feel very undignified & unladylike already - and that's before the whole birth thing!!!

Appetite is still huge?! Must have put on over 3 stone now though I darent weigh myself! Just hungry all the time though obviously not craving fruit & veg so just eating a lot of junk!!

Come on baby, you're welcome out into this big wide world any time now!! Smile

Annarose2014 · 22/09/2014 09:25

34 weeks today. Still breech but I suppose it'll rectify itself in time. I hope so anyway, it seems to love being breech! Been like this for a couple of months now! Hmm

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 22/09/2014 11:12

I think there are some sites out there which give tips and exercizes to turn the baby if you are keen to try and get them head down?

Ive had the loosest bowels over the last two nights Blush and baby is going mad in my stomach at the moment!

Missus2ndwife · 22/09/2014 12:02

Annanrose - have a look at the Spinning Babies website which has a lot of useful tips for turning breech babies

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 28/09/2014 23:06

How is everyone coming along? Any little babies arrived yet?

Im just desperate for this pregbancy to be over now., and am trying to tempt fate by booking in lots of things to do over the next month.Am taking 3yo DD to Disney on Ice at 38 wks by myself which i am nervous about but have my ddad on standby to drop and collect us should anything happen and if the baby arrives before then, DH can endure two hours of disney princesses and a giddy dd Grin

OP posts:
weebairn · 29/09/2014 08:51

No baby here. Due date tomorrow. Some days are ok and I still manage to play with DD, be cheerful, ignore huge bump and cart self around still … every other day is a massive whinge fest Grin

I am going to be pregnant forever!!

Annarose2014 · 29/09/2014 09:48

35 weeks today - I did some of the Spinning Babies stuff and it definately worked. Perhaps cos baby still had enough room inside to move around. Now I think baby is head down but tbh its very confusing.

I get kicks around the top half of my bump, above the navel - and a lot of hiccups (3 times since yesterday!) down in my pelvic area. So I can only presume its turned? Don't want to get my hopes up though - if they tell me next week its still transverse I'll cry!

JuniDD · 29/09/2014 09:53

Sounds like the baby has turned anna. Well done!

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so baby can come any time after that. My pelvis was playing me up badly yesterday but seems ok today. I really don't understand it but glad I can walk today!

Good luck with the Disney on Ice think, maybe you'll get some freebies if you start during the performance?! Shock

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 29/09/2014 09:56

Haha thatd be good! Give the St Johns Ambulance staff something more exciting than usual too id expect!

Hi ladies, can't wait for baby news on this thread! Anyone else on mat leave now? I had wanted to keep going until the end of this week but was signed off for bp and have had a week off now already. Quite enjoying it now!

pinkteapots · 29/09/2014 12:34

37+5 now, have ECV booked for tomorrow. Really hoping it works, though prepared to tell consultant to stop too! Feeling bit low as dont know whats ahead, birth wise, till at least after the ecv. C'est la vie

petitverdot · 29/09/2014 12:57

No baby here yet! 40+3. Hope the ECV goes well pinkteapots x

ButterflyOfFreedom · 29/09/2014 14:15

38+5 now - baby, feel free to come out anytime now!!

During Friday & Saturday I had some quite major twinges / cramps, felt sick, and was absolutely exhausted (even mroe so than usual!) so was getting my hopes up thinking it was the start of things.. alas, those symptoms seem to have disappeared and there is no sign of baby yet!

I started Maternity Leave 4 weeks ago as I had some annual leave to use up too so feels like I've been off work and waiting for baby forever!!
I'm trying to enjoy my time before baby arrives though am a bit anxious about doing too much / going too far away from home (?!) in case I do go into labour!

JuniDD · 29/09/2014 15:32

Argh, just heard in news there's a four hour midwife strike on Monday 13th! Keep those knees together that day ladies! Shock
