I never seemed to be able to keep up with the Antenatal Threads as they move so so fast, but now im 30weeks I thought it might be nice to have a general thread for those of us currently on the final leg.

Im expecting a boy at the end of October and have a dd who is currently 2y 8m. We had an eleven week loss last year so I am beyond chuffed to have had a so far successful pregnancy. Im starting to get very weary and my chest feels so full of my other organs at the moment!

Just returned from a few days away and realised the next time I use my little weekend bag will be for labour Grin so Im going to start chucking stuff into it over the next few weeks.

I am all for baby staying in as long as they need but am so so keen to just getting this pregnancy over and done with.

Congratulations! So pleased all the babies are making an appearance! I've been guzzling pineapple juice and raspberry leaf tea, sniffing clary sage oil and bouncing on my ball like a woman possessed. Not sure anything is making a difference but at least I feel like I'm trying!

Would love to see piccies if anyone wants to share Smile

Awww gorgeous bundles!

I think something is kind of happening here. Had a bloody show yesterday afternoon and since then I've had very mild but regular cramping - every 20 mins or so all night. Really hoping this is it but I suspect it'll be a few days still!

Aw rebecca, what are you now, nearly 41 weeks?

We are finally home, hurrah!

RebeccaCloud9 · 26/10/2014 17:47

Yep, 41 on Tues and booked in for a sweep then. Great news that you're home! How are you feeling?

I'm currently drinking Raspberry Leaf tea (again!) but it's not done anything yet!

I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and this baby shows no signs of being ready to leave Sad
I do have a sweep booked for tomorrow but only because I told the midwife I'm seeing the consultant at the hospital on Thursday and he said he's going to book my induction then (if I want to).
Midwife says a sweep needs to be done before induction so it's all set for tomorrow Confused
I think I've tried just about everything (other than the raspberry leaf) and nothing!

Wishing you (and I) luck RebeccaCloud9 Smile

Ooh good luck Bump! Let us know how it goes (and what it's like cos I'm nervous!).

Will do Rebecca
Didn't think I was nervous but I've been awake since 2am and up since 4am so something must be playing on my mind!

Well sweep was unsuccessful Sad

She had a feel of the baby, listened to the heartbeat and took my blood pressure. Then it was the usual 'feet together and relax your knees' lol
Midwife could feel cervix and it was soft but closed so she couldn't do sweep. Was uncomfortable but then was quite painful when she was trying to bring cervix forward (apparently mine was posterior).

Other than that, not too bad. Will now have to wait and see if anything happens before I'm back at hospital to see the consultant on Thursday although midwife said it was unlikely to start labour.
Then there will be discussions about induction and when I want it.

Hope yours is more successful Rebecca

Hi everyone, currently lying in hospital bed feeding my new baby girl! Had a show Mon night and tues then waters broke on tues evening. Went in for a check around midnight then back home until contractions got worse and closer together at 8am. Had gas and air to start with then went for an epidural (bliss!). Continued this way until 10pm when I was finally 10cms. Pushed for an hour then baby's heart rate was dipping after each contraction. Dr came in and said she's gone back to back again. Was wheeled straight down to theatre for possible forceps but they couldn't reach her so I had an emergency c section and she was born at 1.04 Thurs morning weighing 7lbs 12oz.

All very dramatic! But she's healthy and gorgeous and finally born! No name yet.

Hope you're all doing well xx

Congrats rebecca, well done! sounds pretty similar to my DD's arrival though you were going a lot longer. Hope you're doing ok after the op and no problems due to the waters going (we were in for a week!)
