I never seemed to be able to keep up with the Antenatal Threads as they move so so fast, but now im 30weeks I thought it might be nice to have a general thread for those of us currently on the final leg.

Im expecting a boy at the end of October and have a dd who is currently 2y 8m. We had an eleven week loss last year so I am beyond chuffed to have had a so far successful pregnancy. Im starting to get very weary and my chest feels so full of my other organs at the moment!

Just returned from a few days away and realised the next time I use my little weekend bag will be for labour Grin so Im going to start chucking stuff into it over the next few weeks.

I am all for baby staying in as long as they need but am so so keen to just getting this pregnancy over and done with.

oooh interesting! is it nationwide? am assuming consultants will step in and delivery if necessary? cant exactly let women deliver alone on a delivery suite

I expect they'll still work, tbh. There are firefighters in my family and they always go out to shouts if something comes in during a strike. It'll probably be community services that are most affected, I'll keep an eye out for more information! Next issue - how to get into the hospital if they're picketing! Wink

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 29/09/2014 16:04

Ahhh of course! Forgot about community MWs just assumed thered be a load of labouring women left to their own devices while the MWs stand and stare at the clock.

I panicked when I heard this but on the BBC it says that just pre and post natal appointments will be affected and labour wards will run as normal. Phew!

Missus2ndwife · 30/09/2014 18:53

Glad the spinning babies stuff helped you Anna.

I am 36 weeks tomorrow and feeling very tired.

I have a question re BH - should I be getting these regularly by now or does this not matter where labour will be concerned?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 30/09/2014 19:19

Dont think it matters too much - I had none at all last pregnancy (laboured at 40+2). Get tonns with this pregnancy though!

Thanks ladies. MW confirmed today not to worry

weebairn · 02/10/2014 20:46

Hello!! For all my whinging, had my baby on her due date, 30 september. A girl, 8 lb 9 oz which was a bit of a shock after her sister was only 6 lb 14 oz a week overdue! At least all my whining about my massive bump was justified Wink

2nd labour considerably quicker than 1st!!! 4 hours in a birth pool at home. Enjoying lovely family time and newborn cuddles and despite post-birth aches pregnancy is already becoming a thankfully distant memory.

Thinking of you all and hoping you get through the last shitty weeks as best you can!

OhMjh · 02/10/2014 20:50

Hit the 34 week mark today on my birthday! Mild scare with preterm labour at the weekend, so steroid shots have been administered. Baby Poppy is 2/5 engaged and even midwife is dubious that she'll make it to due date..wish we could just KNOW which day they plan on arriving so I didn't panic at every single round of BH. I hope everyone is well - the end is in sight! X

weebairn · 02/10/2014 20:50

All worth it for this.

Ill be 37 weeks on Saturday, the last month has totally flown by which is great. Hope the next three weeks are drama free.

Tried a little whatchamacallit with DH tonight and he was so totally paranoid that we would hurt the baby (he wishes) that it sort of went nowhere Sad

Hope it is just "eeek she is pregnant so I need to be careful" worry and not related to the fact im.now weeble shape and clearly a bit less sexy Grin

weebairn, congrats!! (not jealous at all of you having baby out :-) ) She's gorgeous, enjoy the snuggles!

My bubs got turned by a brilliant ECV during the week, so is head down. Would like a check-out from mama hotel anytime now!

RebeccaCloud9 · 02/10/2014 23:23

Ah how exciting, congratulations, she's beautiful! xx

JuniDD · 03/10/2014 14:37

Congrats weebairn what a cutie!

Really feeling it today, the bump feels very heavy and low. The baby is apparently back to back so no lazing around for me, kneeling over the bed as I type. Sad Highlight of the day was the midwife saying I had a lovely bump. preens. Gotta get those compliments where I can these days!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 03/10/2014 15:18

I feel like a whale at the moment! Had regular pains last night between 11pm amd 2am and was like "oooh this baby is going to come today!" then fell asleep.

Nothing whatsoever today aside from feeling like a lead weight. I cannot face getting up off this couch.

Has anyone else been feeling nauseous/sick? Most evenings I think I'm going to throw up, dry heave and then feel better. Quite similar to the first tri!

BumpOct2014 · 03/10/2014 20:33

Yes JuniDD. Sickness is back with a vengeance :-(

amy83firsttimer · 03/10/2014 20:44

Been lurking... 34+4 - had no first tri vomiting but a little nausea but now can't bend over without feeling like I'm going to be sick in my mouth. Lurverly!!! Also getting reflux for first time ever and side of bump ache where its foot keeps poking out. One shift at work left tomorrow then I'm off though so that's something at least.

LBNM19 · 03/10/2014 23:36

Aww congratulations.

Im 37 + 4 booked for csection in 11 days feeling scared now. Had an emergency section with my first and starting to feel real now.

RebeccaCloud9 · 04/10/2014 22:25

I've been puking every morning without fail since week 8! Can't WAIT for that to be over!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 04/10/2014 22:27

Well, I have a cold again. Luckily atm it feels like just a headcold rather than any aches and pains (hard to tell as am just generally achey). It must be due to being generally run down - am tired and hormonal and lacking any energy to eat particularly well.

I just feel shit.

Oh no Rebecca thats grim Sad

JuniDD · 05/10/2014 19:09

Oh dear rebecca that is grim. Sad

I had midwife on Friday and the baby was back to back - my worst fear! I wish I could tell where it was more easily. Oh well, back on Thursday. Having a stress that we're not ready at all although we really are. Maybe this is the beginning of nesting?!

RebeccaCloud9 · 05/10/2014 21:45

I know what you mean Juni, I can never really tell which bit of baby is where! Hope it turns soon.
