I never seemed to be able to keep up with the Antenatal Threads as they move so so fast, but now im 30weeks I thought it might be nice to have a general thread for those of us currently on the final leg.

Im expecting a boy at the end of October and have a dd who is currently 2y 8m. We had an eleven week loss last year so I am beyond chuffed to have had a so far successful pregnancy. Im starting to get very weary and my chest feels so full of my other organs at the moment!

Just returned from a few days away and realised the next time I use my little weekend bag will be for labour Grin so Im going to start chucking stuff into it over the next few weeks.

I am all for baby staying in as long as they need but am so so keen to just getting this pregnancy over and done with.

Hi
Just wondering how everyone is doing? Guessing there will have been some babies born and some of us (me!) wishing they were here!

I'm now 38 weeks, last week of work but off today as I have had the most horrendous sickness bug all weekend. Stomach cramps were so bad on Sat I thought I was going into labour!!

Hope everyone is well Smile

RebeccaCloud9 · 13/10/2014 21:54

Ah bump that's not good, hope you feel better. Still waiting here (39 weeks tomorrow). Would love to hear some more baby news!

JuniDD · 13/10/2014 22:12

hello, I'm 39 weeks tomorrow too. Baby is back-to-back and refusing to move which has put me on a right downer tbh. Trying to move it but fear all sorts of processes & interventions in the near future. Sad Oh well, the baby will come one way or another!
Sorry about the sickness bug bump, not what you need.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 13/10/2014 22:16

Hi All, nice to see this thread bumped.

Am 38+2 and sick to the back teeth of braxton hicks. Every single night im getting regular tightenings, some pain, but not going anywhere! Its going ti get to the point where itll be like the Boy who Cried Wolf and when the come for real I end up not realising til the last minute.

I miss bending down. I miss being able to get up off the floor easily. I miss having room in my stomach to finish a whole meal.

Grrrrrrr.

Yeah, sickness bug really not needed Sad think I'm over the worst but still having to be really careful what I eat.

JuniDD - hope baby moves for you

ThinkIveBeenHacked - I'm missing the same things too!

Here's hoping all our babies decide to make a move soon!

LBNM19 · 13/10/2014 23:36

No baby yet but booked in for an ELCS on Wednesday feeling nervous now :) x

RebeccaCloud9 · 14/10/2014 09:02

Mine was back to back at last appt too. I have an appt this afternoon so will see what it's up to now and if it has moved - I really can't tell myself, there's just bits of baby everywhere and I never know which bit is which!

JuniDD · 14/10/2014 11:16

How funny rebecca we're so similar!

My next appointment isn't til 40+3 so going to go to an osteopath and try to book reflexology too. You don't hear much good about B2B but hey ho, as long as baby arrives safe & sound I'll be happy. Keep us posted.

RebeccaCloud9 · 14/10/2014 19:24

Baby is not back to back any more (well, at the moment) hooray! Also 1/5 engaged (apparently she could only feel baby's chin, the rest is too far down to feel and mw said it probably won't be long now! Still can't believe it though.

BumpOct2014 · 14/10/2014 20:44

I'm pleased for you RebeccaCloud9 Smile

pinkteapots · 14/10/2014 20:59

Good luck LBNM! Nervous excitement in the household tonight I imagine!

Am 40 weeks tomorrow, and not a dickie bird. Usual braxton hicks, blah blah, but no labour. Going to ask for the mother of all sweeps tomorrow as i'm just fed up! Cervix soft and central last week, hoping its sweepable this week...

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 14/10/2014 21:01

Anyone know if the MW will sweep early? Or at least check if I am sweepable? Bloody hate internals but frankly I am physically and mentally worn out now by the whole thing and just cant focus on anything apart from how little my body can now do.

splendide · 14/10/2014 21:08

Hello! I've been mostly lurking in here. I'm 39+3, not engaged and now utterly convinced I'll be pregnant FOREVER :(

MumaBex · 14/10/2014 21:14

Feeling for all you ladies. 36+1 here and fed up too. But not just with the huge bump, but everything my partner does or doesnt do right now is pissing me right off.
Not sure if the MW will sweep early TIBH, not sure how effective it would be. But no harm in asking, worse she can say is no.

JuniDD · 14/10/2014 21:48

think it's worth asking for them to assess your Bishop score and see if they'll sweep you if it's looking favourable? I'm not fed up yet (well, not enough to want to kickstart a back labour) but then I'd rather get things going. If baby won't start it off due to position I'm dreading induction etc.

My next appt is at 40+3 and I'd rather like to not be there. I think I will though and will be offered a sweep.

My baby is 3/5 palpable so 2/5 engaged but half want it to pop out for a bit so it'll turn!

RebeccaCloud9 · 15/10/2014 08:20

Juni, which way is engaged and which is palpable, I get confused! For me, she could only feel 1/5 of the head - is that 1/5 engaged or 1/5 palpable?

Good luck for today LBNM, hope all goes well and can't wait to see a piccie! Enjoy those baby cuddles!

My midwife said they start sweeps etc at 41 weeks not before but I don't know how flexible that is. Plus I'm sure it's different whoever you see!

Missus2ndwife · 15/10/2014 09:12

Hi everyone,
I'm 38weeks today and been having odd twinges since Monday with period like pains last night. I got all excited thinking the baby is coming... Today I only have a dull ache but I'm totally shattered and don't feel like getting out of this bed yet. I'm seeing my consultant later today.

I also felt sick yesterday and was having weird palpitations - is this normal at this stage?

I'm hoping this is the start. How is everyone else doing? xx

JuniDD · 15/10/2014 14:17

Rebecca I think (I'm no expert) that's 1/5 palpable so 4/5 engaged = you're gonna have a baby pretty soon, girl! Wink

Hope it goes ok with the consultant missus, I've been feeling similar. I haven't actually been sick but done a lot more dry heaving than I did in the whole first tri. Annoying!

I had osteopath today. It was really nice! She was a lovely woman and did some very light treatment on me which apparently has loosened things up a bit. She also showed me so positions for labour and gave me a brilliant image - in labour the baby has to come down a spiral staircase head first, it's gonna be awkward. Suggested putting one knee up on a low step, then the other in all fours if things get awkward. I hope that's handy for someone!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 15/10/2014 16:49

Sick as a chip today - my whole fanjo feels bruised inside and out Sad sorry for the TMI. Babys head must be nicely pressed up against it.

RebeccaCloud9 · 17/10/2014 11:47

Still no sign as yet. Any news from anyone else?

I'm really finding it hard to believe I will have a baby soon. I know logically that the baby will be here soon but I can't get my head round it! I had a brief moment of panic the other night that I'm not ready for this! Kind of want the waiting to be over now so I can start to believe that it's real! Anyone feeling daft like me??

JuniDD · 17/10/2014 14:59

No news here either. Agree it feels very strange that there's a baby in there that's coming out pretty soon. I'm trying not to think about it too much today!

I keep falling asleep today which is a bit weird. Wondering if it's a Sign or just a very tired day. At least I can give in to it.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 17/10/2014 15:01

Nope.nothing here either. 3/5s engaged at MW yesterday and boy can I feel it. Out for dinner tonight so am actually hoping things wait til tomorrow at least.

Juni just embrace the tiredness and tuck yourself up for a nice nap.

OP posts:
JuniDD · 17/10/2014 15:05

Have a lovely meal think.

Just got up for lunch and ready to go back down for nap #3 Shock. I've been staying awake during my hypnotherapy CD lately so might put that on so I see some daylight today! I wanted to get out for a walk to get the baby down but just feel too tired. Sigh.

MumaBex · 17/10/2014 15:42

Feeling sick as a dog today. Tired and baby has not stopped moving and pushing against my stomach. Plus DD wants to constantly sit on my lap and play with my belly button which is making it worse. This is my 3rd and final time of being pregnant so know i should embrace these last couple of weeks, but just wanting baby out now. Get in as many naps in as possible ladies, wont be long. x

MumaBex · 19/10/2014 08:51

Gone very quiet in here............... Has everyone popped??
