Thanks Monkeygirl and Gomez, luckily I do have alot of friends about but it isn't the same when I say lonley I think it is the cuddles and hugs etc that I miss from DH!!!.

Take Care all

monkeygirl · 07/04/2004 18:28

karen - just makes sure he makes up for it when you are together!

Take care

karen01 · 07/04/2004 23:05

Don't you worry i will.!!

Cavy · 07/04/2004 23:45

Weighed myself today, I have gained 2.5 stone already!!! And why oh why did that news story about chocolate making happy babies have to come out today, as if I needed further encouragement?

monkeygirl · 07/04/2004 23:51

I stopped weighing myself a few weeks ago but had already gained 2 stone by then. I'm still trying to kid myself that it's mostly water/blood volume/placenta etc but my wobbling thighs and bum tell me otherwise. It still doesn't stop me tucking in though

Secur, I'm having trouble sleeping - the slightest little noise or movement makes me wake up, not to mention dh's snoring. I just give him a good kick now and that gives me a few minutes of peace anyway. I guess it's all good practice for the months to come anyway.

I still haven't got a cot yet but am coming round to getting a bedside one this time. Last time we co-slept with dd but am more nervous about it this time, especially as I am heavier, it will be summer and probably stuffy and don't want to keep banning dh from bed every time he has a drink.

Funnily enough tesco's traditional lemonade helps with my heartburn at the moment - much nicer than those horrible medicines so I will see if that continues.

Mine is definitely a boy (from CVS results). The only think that makes me very slightly nervous is that the sonographer forgot to check his bits at the anomaly scan so I'm hoping they are there!

Right then, bets on whose first - I'm due on the 10th but I'm going to put a fiver on me being early - first few days of June (although that'll put the kiss of death on it now - I'll probably have to be induced and then have an emergency cs or something).

I'm just being bad mummy again. I'm tired, it's raining and I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do with dd today so I'm letting her watch more tv than I probably should. Gives me the time to be shifty lurker on some threads and post the odd silly comment.

Oooh, as much as I adore my dd I wish I could offload her today for a few hours - her nursery is on a break for 4.5 weeks and it's turning out to feel like a long long holiday...don't know how you cope with 3.

I probably would have gone back to work earlier before I found out I was pregnant if I could have thought of something I really wanted to do (I want a change but am not sure what as yet). I don't think I'm a very good sahm. Oh well I feel guilty now cos dd has come for a cuddle but is now demanding some food so I guess I'd better go cook her some lunch.

I may catch up with you later - are we really the only June lot on line this morning??

Hello people... If the stuff about chocolate is true then this sprog is going to pop out as one of those happy-clappy orange folk who skip along Oxford Street... What about red wine? Amazingly enough, all my weight seems to be on my bump (sorry, those of you not so lucky) & I really am eating loads. I was like this with ds, although felt sick the whole way through so didn't eat nearly as much. Secur: read your war & peace post & thought you'd written you'd put on ELEVEN & a half stone
Karen, I really admire you for coping without your dp. I whinge when dh goes away for one night...
We've got a mothercare 3-wheeler in the loft from last time; I'm just waiting 'til the weather improves before I get it down as it needs a good scrub & dry in the sun.
Last night I dreamed I was in labour & was attended by a couple of the nurses from No Angels (anyone else watch that?)...only fell off the trolley once.
Am off to start a couple of threads as I need some info (Mark Warner & cloth nappies)

secur; Girl(80% by scan) due 29th, expected late (but with god reason to be early!!)
monkeygirl; Boy (by CVS) due 10th, expected early
karen01; Boy (by scan)due 17th, really couldn't say when depends on delivery method!! Hoping early June (so I can get out to Cyprus quicker!!)

I went mad this time round (compared with DD when cash was realy tight) with buying things for the baby, all the pram, moses basket, cot and bedding and drawers are from mamas and papas, DH asked the women in the shop if they did the "snip" when they told him the balance, I just thought it very funny, as he can't seem to comprehend that that was just the start of it they just get more expensive. (DD isn't his he didn't come into our lives until she was 4)

must go got to take DD to taekwondo.

monkeygirl · 08/04/2004 16:46

Ok I'm sort of back from trying to entertain my dd1. TV is off, we've just made some cakes and she is now playing with our portable scrabble set which for some bizarre reason was mixed in the baby stuff in the attic.

SD - what's a hot holiday? Sorry, can't help you with your query but will watch with interest as I would actually like a holiday this year, even if we have to go into debt.

Don't know if you noticed but Secur and I were discussing:

  1. what's the sex of your baby
  2. who's going to be the first of us to give birth.

Want to add your prediction? Anyone else?

Gomez · 08/04/2004 22:43

Nice to 'see' you again Secur - thought you were avoiding us! Seperate beds things is easy - spare room, double bed train DD to head there during the night (although be prepared for her to tell everyone that Mummy & Daddy have seperate beds..) then KINGSIZE bed all for me!!!! No snoring (well except mine of course which I have to admit is v. bad at mo.) I am really struggling with sleeping too, same as everyone else, even wasted cash on those stupid body cushions things, no use.

Also having have started having hideous nose bleeds - one has lasted 1.5 hours and an other over 2. Not dramatic gushing but just continuous drip, drip - like when you have a cold in fact. Also gums are bleeding like mad too - they have bled right from start but are now much worse, I can actually see the blood running down my teeth. Gross!!! Am a bit concerned it might indicate some sort of clotting problem as I had a fairly serious bleed after DD so will probably mention to MW next week.

Right serious business -

I have no clinical evidence to support this but I think I am having a boy!! No basis in fact just think it well did think it but am now doing the whole but it might be a girl thing.

And due 2nd June but think I will be late, in fact still sitting the size of a hippo mid-June. Unless confirmed as breech or issues with dodgy pelvis when I see consultant mid-May in which case c-section around the 25th May, perhaps?

So basically I have no idea on sex or when I will pop so just put me in as a 'wildcard' entry!!

On the weight thing - I saw my GP instead of MW at last ante-natal clinc and basically just refused to get on the scales. On you pop, he says, eh no I reply. He just looked at me!! Well I don't want to know and you don't need to know so lets agree not to bother. Amazingly enough he was okay about it!! I am not weighing myself until Christmas!!!!! At the end of the day the MW/GP know they can tick the podgy box just by looking at me they don't need the exact evidence!

Right too much gibbering so I am off for supper and then bed!

Take care all
xx

I'm predicting that I'll have an 8 lb+9 oz boy on 22 June (10 days over EDD).
I predict Secur will be first, it's usually the most disorganised person who gets the early baby!

Skara · 09/04/2004 22:29

Cavy and Monkeygirl, I love you both Am not alone in my well over 2 stone gain department then! Yay I keep hoping it's all water cos my legs are sooo old lady-ish, but considering I'm eating delicious soda bread with unsalted butter in large quantities whilst sitting lardily in front of the pc I know I'm fantasising...

I reckon Monkeygirl will be first; mine is due 7th June but I think it'll arrive on the 12th, weighing something hideously heavy. Midwife has already told me it's big and I'm half expecting to have an 11lb giant baby...only problem is I'm so knackered at the moment I haven't got the energy to give birth!
