June people! we are hopeless! Even the April lot manage to post now & again... (though they are probably on mat. leave by now) Do you realise no one has posted on the old thread for nearly a week?!

It has to be fresh pineapple - see here . Maybe coincidence but I only managed to eat half of the pineapple I bought - ate half one evening, waters broke next morning.

7 pineapples! I haven't eaten that many in my lifetime!! Well I've done the walks only - might try one or two of the others but still don't fancy the sex - would also worry that the bed wouldn't take it - or even the floor for that matter!

thanks MG and Secur, will drink gallons of water tonight before bed (therefore ensuring that I don't get woken by headaches but have a sleepless night peeing instead ) and mw is coming tomorrow so will check it out with her. Suspect it's just pre-birth paranoia and stress, knowing me. Guess what - have just had overwhelming urge to clean the bathroom - must therefore be nearly there, ha ha, and not that it was so filthy I felt mortified at the mw seeing it tomorrow (!).

I love pineapples but the thought of 7 makes me feel a bit queasy...the thought of the castor oil effect not v appealing either. Have been booking myself up like mad for the rest of the week, so hopefully time will fly by. Really don't want this baby to arrive this weekend as we've got a few things planned and no babysitter (famous last words I bet...).

leander · 25/05/2004 20:53

Hi girls hope you dont mind me popping in.I have followed this thread most of the time just to see how you are all getting on.Its not much longer now for you all so I just wanted to say good luck to you all.
love leander xx

karen01 · 25/05/2004 21:19

Thanks leander.

I am still here as said earlier not convinced it was a show will have to wait and see. my back pain is still coming and going and have had BH on and off alot more frequently and stronger, but back is the worst. I am really tired today. had 2.5hr kip this afternoon and I am ready for bed again now. however when i am awake I don't seem to stop I am alwaysthinking of something else that needs to be done around the house.
I am going to have a soak in the bath seems to help the back pain.

Take care all a week to day and we can say "we are due this month"

karen01 · 25/05/2004 21:20

meant to add i don't want anything to happen until atleast next tuesday/wednesday when Dh is back, as mam is away again this weekend up north and DD is going to her dads friday till next thursday. it will be just my luck whilst i am home alone.

karen01 · 25/05/2004 21:58

Who is the sad one talking to themselves, oh thats me!!!
has anyone else noticed that the lips and surrounding (sp!!) area appears swollen. Noticed it whilst i was immacing (veeting!!) So I stood infront of the mirror and it does look swollen to me. Am I sad paranoid or what.

monkeygirl · 25/05/2004 22:12

Thanks Leander - can't believe we're next up (only about 2 more to go isn't there in the May lot?).

Karen you're a brave woman for 'veeting'. Can you still manage it without the use of a mirror??? I was going to have a go but am veering towards just turning up like a hairy gorilla cos I cannot be bothered - so no I haven't noticed any um change down there. And well done for hanging in there - but could you really cope with another week of this? Cross those legs tightly then!

I went stir crazy today. DD ill (as was I a bit) so stayed in watching too much tv, feeling overly tired and sore, and majorly irritable with poor dd whilst dh didn't even bother to ring and find out how we were doing even though he was going straight from work to the pub. ! Feel like ringing him on mobile and giving him a bit of a 'scare' with a false alarm. How self-pitying do I feel then...

karen01 · 25/05/2004 22:21

MG hope you and dd feel better. men are just a pain in the arse aren't they. I wish they could experience what being pg is like even just for a day. I told my dh that that is why i have been whinging and nagging at him over the phone and whilst he was here. pay back for leaving me to cope alone :0:0:0

monkeygirl · 25/05/2004 22:30

Actually I shouldn't really be whinging - at lest dh is in the same country, even if it seems like he is on another planet sometimes.

Let's make sure we get our revenge when the dbs come out! Payback time begins soon!

littlelamb · 25/05/2004 22:30

Hi. Thanks for the invite Karen Well, I have 3 weeks to go and I should be enjoying the last weeks of pregnancy, but...
I'm soooo fed up! I have swollen granny ankles, and I can hardly walk! And I naively like to think that I'm smaller than I actually am, so I keep opening the fridge door onto poor bump. I think tomorrow I will try jumping up and down to see if that helps things progress, or if it just makes me wet myself

Skara · 26/05/2004 11:41

Hi Littlelamb I am always opening doors into this bump too, that and turning round and knocking over my poor little 2 year old.

Karen, I can't reach round my fatness to think about hair removal, have thought about razor but tbh my midwife is a bit knit your own yogurt so she probably wouldn't notice anyway

Saw her this morning, she said I haven't been drinking enough (should be drinking more than - ready for this? - 6 pints a day! Eek!) because of the heat and the demands of pregnancy on the body. Haven't started yet, the fear of how much peeing I'll have to do is putting me off! And finally the head is engaged, only 1/5 but it's also in the perfect LOA position which is a first for me. Just have to keep hoping it'll come early now...must go make lunch for starving children, hope everyone else is doing ok?

littlelamb · 26/05/2004 12:13

Morning all
Has anyone had to move when heavily pregnant? The circumstances are pretty much beyond my control, but I have to move on Friday. I just think it's funny that they always say two of the most stressful things you can do are have a baby and move house Maybe the stress will help this little one on its way
Also, when my midwife says I'm 4/5 engaged does that mean the 4/5s is above or below the pelvis? I'm really just desperate to know that birth is imminent. When did I get so impatient?!

Welcome LittleLamb to the incredibly impatient June thread (think most of us would like it to happen NOW wouldn't we??).

Re 4/5 engaged - depends exactly how she phrased it. If it says 4/5 on your notes then I think it means head is only 1/5 into pelvis (that's what it is for me at the moment). I believe it's your first though? In which case it doesn't really matter that much. First time round for me baby was engaged at 35/36 weeks but didn't deliver until 39 weeks - it's normal 1st time round for babies to engage quite early I think but it doesn't mean labour is imminent sadly.

I'm seeing mw tomorrow so will be interested to see if db as managed to slip down another 5th. Sometimes I think he's almost there but then my heartburn then comes back with a vengeance, like last night. I was almost sick.

Skara - 6 pints a day! Might as well attach yourself to the mains permanently then (presume she does mean water )! I'm addicted to decaff diet coke at the moment cos it feels nice on my throat - won't mention that to mw as I'm sure she'll give me one of her pursed lips look that's she's so keen on. Can't wait to see her tomorrow (not!).

Today I am feeling like the living dead more than ever. Someone sandpapered my throat in the night, I am even more tired and ratty and so did bad mother thing of sending dd to nursery even though she still has her cold and cough - well I figured they gave it to us so we could give it back!

Anymore twinges anyone?

scampadoodle · 26/05/2004 14:24

I can just about manage to shave my legs, but god knows what my bikini line is like... My feet/toenails are a disgrace though, so I may have to treat myself to a pedicure before D-day (I am actually due on D-Day!)
Skara/MG: I agree about Morrissey's solo stuff (& he played quite a lot of it a the concert) but the Smiths were great & he's still one of the best lyricists around. We were guests of the record company (Ooh, get her!) so we were front row (along the side as there was an enormous mosh-pit) & I stayed seated throughout but jiggled. Felt VERY conspicuously about to drop though. Was sitting next to one of the PR girls & she was wearing skinny little jeans & a teeny-weeny t-shirt grrr. She was also about a decade younger than me...
Baby-wise, no real signs. It's active some days & then not others, which sends me into a panic. I'm napping loads but I think that's partly this virus I've got. Am getting quite apprehensive about the birth now. Go to bed every night thinking, 'Will it happen tonight?'

SD - I have the same thing with db - active some days and pretty quiet others. I think Secur said she had experienced the same thing.

It's a bugger being ill now isn't it - keep thinking I'm bound to go into labour when I'm feeling my worst after having managed to avoid all illnesses for months now.

For some bizarre reason I can manage my toenails but not my minnie. But I worry more about my hairy legs for some stupid reason.

BTW did anyone tear or have an episiotomy last time. I was so lucky that I didn't at all with dd(just tore internally ) and it is still one of my biggest dreads.

monkeygirl · 26/05/2004 14:34

Secur - maybe secretly he wants to be present at the birth

Maybe leave the hb pack on his desk then with a shower curtain and some towels...maybe then he'll give you some extra maternity leave!
