Do scans have the fathers name on?

Hi, hope someone can help, my sons x girlfriend has turned up with a scan of 9 week twins and printed on the scan in the left hand corner just under sex unknown it says fathers name and has his name on.
I do not think its real and wondered if there is anyone out there who has had a scan at The University Hospital north staffs and if they can tell me if the hospital put the fathers name on scans.

All mind had 'Baby DeVere' on them after I was married
The babies I had before I was married had' Baby Maiden name' on them.

Was it an actual scan photo or did she show him it on her phone?

My mate's ex gf sent him a scan photo. Mate looked at it, searched google images and found it. Ex was not pregnant.

Fair enough if you have doubts that she is pregnant, but tread carefully- there could be an explanation as to how she got his name on it and she is indeed telling the truth. Give her the benefit of the doubt to her face- the truth will come out eventually. You don't want to be the bad guys from the offset.

Sorry, I know that you didn't ask for advice regarding your situation but it must be absolutely awful having feelings that someone is playing games with your son and lying about you potentially having grandchildren Sad

Also if it's a genuine scan, it will have her name, hospital name, the date, and all sorts of technical data around the image.

shellmont · 11/07/2014 22:50

Thank you all for putting my mind at rest. She also had an email with the scan appointment on addressed to miss k hope and Mr B Boggs (not real names) but that did not look real either.

Fair point Scotch, I didn't mean to suggest they go charging in with accusations. I'm just trying to explain what normal NHS procedure is

MrsGrumpyPants · 11/07/2014 22:54

Never heard of NHS appointments being sent by email either, the NHS is a total dinosaur when it comes to IT!

SoonToBeSix · 11/07/2014 22:54

Take a look at fake a baby. com

Deverethemuzzler · 11/07/2014 22:54

I am trying to think but I really don't remember my OH being included on any appointment letters.

The woman is pregnant so she is the patient. You don't get joint appointments. Your partner can come obviously but they don't get the appointment IYSWIM.

scotchtikidoll · 11/07/2014 22:57

I knew someone who pulled a similar stunt to what you're referring to OP- they just plucked a picture from the internet, passing it off as their baby, which is why I am not dismissive of your concerns. They had done the same with a picture of a pregnancy test. It was clearly a stock image with a filter on it- one of the first things that came up in a Google Images search actually.

MrsGrumpyPants none of my posts were aimed at you Smile

duvetfan · 11/07/2014 23:01

My appointments were initially by letter and addressed only to me. I am the patient, as others have previously stated.

scotchtikidoll · 11/07/2014 23:01

SoonToBeSix absolutely disgusting Shock

MrsGrumpyPants · 11/07/2014 23:01

Thanks scotch I just got a bit carried away with my techno babble Grin

duvetfan · 11/07/2014 23:03

Sorry Deverethemuzzler I didn't mean that to sound so rude. I was typing as you posted.Blush

Southpaws · 11/07/2014 23:03

I have had scans at north staffs and they don't put father's name on. Also most 12 week scans are performed at Bradwell hospital, not at the mat unit.

amyjayde · 11/07/2014 23:04

I've had all my scans at north staffs and no the pictures didn't have fathers (dh) name on, just my name and age Smile

elliejjtiny · 11/07/2014 23:05

All my NHS scans and appointment letters just had my name on. DH's details were in my hand held maternity notes and in the baby's neonatal unit discharge paperwork. My private scan pictures had both our names on the top of each picture. We were asked if we wanted both our names or just mine and if we wanted the baby's sex and/or name on the picture.

coppertop · 11/07/2014 23:05

4 pregnancies and no mention of dh's name on any of the scan pictures (several scans for each baby).

Appointments were made either by letter with only my name on them, or over the phone when the community midwife called the hospital during my antenatal appointment. Definitely no e-mails!

DizzyCow63 · 11/07/2014 23:06

Sounds very odd. None of my maternity notes refer to DH really at all, other than the next of kin section and where I have completed his details as my birthing partner. All correspondence is to me only and my scans don't even have my name on, only my hospital no. Only the mother is the patient, I honestly don't believe any appointments would be sent to joint names, and certainly not by email, as a PP said the NHS is just not that advanced!

Trazzletoes · 11/07/2014 23:06

Is anyone else really shocked that someone would go to this level of deception?! Obviously the OP doesn't yet know for certain that the ex is lying, but so many of you know of this happening!

shellmont · 11/07/2014 23:07

Thanks southpaws, I think its best he phones the hospital on Monday to see if he can find out if its real, she works at the north staffs as a nurse.

MrsGrumpyPants · 11/07/2014 23:11

Be prepared that he will probably not get much information over the phone though, due to patient confidentiality. They certainly will not confirm that she had a scan or not. At best, someone in ultrasound might say that it's not usual practice to put the fathers name on.

Does he have a picture of the scan?

Trazzletoes · 11/07/2014 23:11

Just a thought but would the hospital actually confirm it? Patient confidentiality and all that, since he isn't the patient...

MrsGrumpyPants · 11/07/2014 23:13

As others have said, unfortunately I think you will just have to wait and see how things develop. But internally, have an extremely high level of suspicion that things are not as they have been presented to you.

shellmont · 11/07/2014 23:14

Yes I have a picture of the scan here, I realise they can not give out information about scan appointments but they might tell him if an email appointment with his name was sent out
