RP I just went off DTD completely! TTC really ruins it with all the pressure, then you are too scared to do it plus I've just felt too ill. Poor DH lol

That's a great way of looking at being pg, today you are pg and that's what matters! I did, and still do, just take one day at a time!

bushy I'm not a teacher berry! there were loads in HQ but don't think many have made it over here Sad

Had my holibobs, Cornwall and Spain, now it's the 11 week wait to maternity leave Shock

Had a crap start to the week here, gagging into the sink this morning and then my nose started bleeding so blood spattered everywhere, went for a tissue and bled on the floor! Hoping the day and week gets better.

Hope people are feeling well Smile happy monday!

FeatherFeather11 · 07/07/2014 09:48

Mmmm...mac & cheese! Just the type of white food in craving these days rp! Got a recipe?

bunny poor you re nose bleed and gagging! Hope your day gets better.

bushy your hols sound lovely. Not sure what we're doing yet but currently in battle with oh and acu lady as they both insist I don't fly at all. Something about circadian rhythms. All I want to do is swim in the Mediterranean Sea and eat calamari! Looks like it'll be wales or somewhere drivable instead though. Hmm

Happy Monday all. Hectic week ahead so not sure how much I'll be able to post. Hope everyone is well!

RevoltingPeasant · 07/07/2014 16:10

mac n cheese I put sliced tomatoes around the sides too.

I am having the leftovers again tonight Blush

Ooh have you been to Kingswear before? We've been a bunch of times before we moved down here. Try The Ship Inn which has lush food but you need to book in advance. It is so gorgeous!

Or get the boat across to Dartmouth and the Royal Castle is always decent value if less naice. We had some of our first romantic weekends away in Kingswear

RevoltingPeasant · 07/07/2014 16:11

Oh bunny poor you! Sounds horrid. I have occasional icky moments like random yellow discharge or peeing myself a little when retching. Classeeeee.....

Being pregnant is not like Victoria Beckham makes it look Hmm

winohhh · 07/07/2014 20:48

Just back from my first harmony scan/ blood test. Amazingly I'm still pregnant! Still measuring well for the dates. 11 weeks today! (They measured me 11w1d, but I'm sticking with my original date). Get the blood results back in 2 weeks. Feeling nervous about it already. I feel like my worry about miscarriage is still there, but the worry about something being wrong is catching up quickly!

Will catch up properly soon!

jessplussomeonenew · 07/07/2014 21:17

Fantastic news Win - hold onto that reassured feeling as long as you can!

Bunny, nosebleeds are utterly gross on their own, let alone with a side of vomiting! I am hoping this will stop once the baby is born.

jessplussomeonenew · 07/07/2014 21:22

Feather, I don't see how the Med would affect your circadian rhythms - it's not as if you'd have more than 2 hours time difference. Even if they did, what harm is that supposed to do? Sounds unnecessarily woo to me. If you decide to go along, could you go without flying? Eurotunnel is not sounding such a great idea at the moment - could you get a ferry to Spain or France?

RevoltingPeasant · 07/07/2014 22:46

Win good for you Grin

I am already bricking it about my 12w scan although it is a fortnight away not that I like borrowing trouble or anything

So win was this a private test or did they do the 12w scan on the early side?

Anyhow congrats. You know after the 12w scan, if they see a HB, I read the chance of MC goes down to about 1%. I like that stat :)

greatbigbushybeard · 07/07/2014 23:47

I like that stat too!! So happy to be on here as internet wasn't working earlier and had a catch up as my treat after report writing. What a day, we're all pooped after last week and planning on w/e, left school v early for midwife appt, then back for ridiculously long meeting (didn't leave til 6.45) where nothing was settled on and went round in circles. It's this stupid new national curriculum, they give us a new curric but no ideas on how to plan for it, example formats for planning etc. We are rapidly running out of time to sort stuff before end of term. Got in the car and almost burst into tears. My mum wanted to come round but I had to say no as hadn't even cooked tea yet or washed up before as place such a mess, then add on my 3 a day report quota. Crazy!!

Got second midwife appt to talk scans and paper work this sat. Least i don't have to lie to get out of work.

Cheers for the kings wear recommendations. It's our wedding anniversary so a nice meal at ship inn might be just the ticket!! Will look at the link.

Oh and asked midwife about lack of morning sickness and she said nothing to worry about, it all depends how sensitive you are to the HCG. some people aren't at all, whereas some can't handle it so well.

FeatherFeather11 · 08/07/2014 08:15

win ahh, so pleased for you! 11 weeks! Hold on to the positivity you're feeling. This time next week you'll be at the golden 12 week mark and as rp said, the odds are really on your side then.

bushy school sounds tough and loaded with red tape. Glad you and oh got to ask your midwife q's you wanted.

rp I'm bricking my 12w scan too. We can brick together. When's yours?

I'm about to have cake for breakfast. Blush

Bunnygirlie · 08/07/2014 08:37

Morning!

I have never ever had Mac and cheese!!! Is that weird?

RP I hear you on the weeing a teeny bit when gagging! I have had to make the decision some mornings of either loo or rushing to eat something to feel better Shock

Ladies get started on your pelvic floor exercises ASAP!

win 11w already how fab! Glad your scan went well, are you finding out the sex? Will other newbies find out?

feather it's normal to be nervous of the big scan! I was! still scared at 20w scan and every time mw checks heartbeat, I am sure I am imagining this baby. Even with my big tum now lol

FeatherFeather11 · 08/07/2014 09:45

Thanks bunny - good to know that there is no chance of the worry subsiding!

win you inspired me this morning. Booked in for the Harmony next Tuesday. Had a chat to OH about it after I read your post and he's (wearily) agreed. Flowers

winohhh · 08/07/2014 09:48

RP, it was a private scan. I've still not even booked in with a midwife yet! Have my appointment on Thursday. Im hoping to get a 12 week scan on the nhs, and I also get another scan privately at 13 weeks as part of the harmony test. I understand what you're saying about having too many scans bushy, but I think after my mmc, one of the most traumatic things for me was the idea I'd been walking around for nearly 4 weeks thinking and acting like I was pregnant when I wasn't. I'm not sure I was fully over that, and the anxiety this time has been epic.

Bunny, 11 weeks to mat leave!!! Eek! How exciting!! We're not finding out the sex with harmony, just in case it's bad news. We might at the 20 week scan, if we get that far. Do I really need to start pelvic floor exercises now? Crikey!!!

I'm totally with everyone on the white food thing. That's all I want at the mo. Might try that mac and cheese! Yum. My trousers are definitely getting tighter!! I'm surprised no one at work has said anything yet!

Sorry you're worrying about flying feather. I did a long haul at 7 weeks for work. I talked to the gp about it, did a lot of reading (including the expecting better book- do you all have that?) and felt okay about the decision. It's a personal thing though.

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/07/2014 11:33

Hey ladies, apologies for being AWOL...mini Merk is going through a leap so we have had a tough few days. Haven't read back but going to find you something worth watching/reading about pelvic floor...

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/07/2014 11:37

This lady will give you reminders to do pelvic floor on twitter

RevoltingPeasant · 08/07/2014 13:39

win oooh a mmc is my worst, worst nightmare. Awful that that happened to you. I keep being convinced that the nasty yellow discharge is A Sign that I'm ignoring and everything will come unstuck at the 12 w scan.

But.... must not worry!

Bushy if you go to The Ship, get there early and grab a seat in the bar in the window, nicer than the restaurant. Also lots of lovely places in Dartmouth over the water, and getting the boat over in the dusk is very romantic apart from the sweary middle aged ferryman

FeatherFeather11 · 08/07/2014 18:17

Question on mat leave: do you go a month before your due date? Is that the usual?

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/07/2014 18:27

Feather it's really varied. In my experience most people work until 37 or 38 weeks. Obviously any time you have on mat leave before your baby is born is less time off work once it arrives. Some people therefore work right up to due date and some go off earlier. Personally I wouldn't have managed past 36 weeks

FeatherFeather11 · 08/07/2014 18:28

Thanks merk! Just wondering if all goes to plan, if I can wrap up at Christmas and not go back. That would make it a month before!

FeatherFeather11 · 08/07/2014 19:01

And yes, I realise I'm getting WAY ahead of myself here. Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 08/07/2014 19:03

I've just been considering this Feather and due to finances we've decided I'll go off at about 37 weeks.

Argh discharge is back, and more of it :( rang the surgery who said my swab to test for infection came back clear so that is one good thing. Really just hope this is a disgusting variant of normal......

Okay okay, TODAY I am pg! I hope

FeatherFeather11 · 08/07/2014 19:12

rp thought of you today - when I err, went to the ladies, and I had a yellow discharge too! Had a look around online and seems common. Is that what you mean rather than red?!

RevoltingPeasant · 08/07/2014 20:52

Yes I have never had red. When I had my "threatened abortion" it was all brown blood. Then went clear again, now, yellow.

Can I just rant about something? I got my maternity exemption certificate in the post today. It's the card you get which allows you to get free prescriptions etc. The letter which accompanies it says, "if you have a mc before 24 weeks you must return the card to us immediately. If your baby is stillborn after 24 weeks you may use the card until it runs out."

Hmm thanks. That is exactly what I wanted to think about in week 10 of my pregnancy!!
