welcome to motherhood puppy Grin and welcome to the world puplet! Grin Grin sounds like you did amazingly!!!

Tallyra · 07/06/2014 10:46

Aww well done puppy!!! And well done puplet for being so obliging!
I second everything merk says. Ask anything, it's probably something one of us have asked before!
And don't be ashamed to cry. It's just the hormones and the relief. Xxxxx

Foodylicious · 07/06/2014 12:17

Feeling pretty good thanks dartmoor
Currenyly sst with my hand in a bowl of iced water to see if I can reduce the swelling enough to get my rings off.
Really did not want to take them off and thought I wss going to get away with the swelling. They wont vome off now but can still move them around. Worried this might not be the cade for long especially ad I vould have another 3 werks to go!
really really dont want to have to have them cut off Sad

Angelina77 · 07/06/2014 13:43

Brilliant birth story Puppy, I hope mine goes something like that!

Angelina77 · 07/06/2014 13:47

Can I just ask, of those who have, when did you give birth in relation to your due date? Getting slightly impatient here and dreading going massively overdue.

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/06/2014 19:49

Due date for me angel, with no warning until the day before which I spent on the loo and the chiro saying I would have a baby within 24 hours which I chose to ignore

BlindKitty · 08/06/2014 02:32

angel 2 days before Edd (the date we thought it was before 12 week scan said otherwise)

puppy wow your birth sounds very similar to mine apart from the episiotomy. You sure we can't tempt you to fb??? Comes in quite useful when wanting to chat during h the witching hour and then we can see a pic of the puplet

foody apart from mind period pains, the increased vowel frequency was my only other sign the baby was coming!

PuppyMummy · 08/06/2014 07:43

angel I was 4 days after my edd.

foody I was having mild period cramps from a day or 2 before my edd and then started loosing the mucus plug a bit each day 2 days before then woke up on the day before he was born with the contractions starting! Smile

Foodylicious · 08/06/2014 12:03

Think babylicious is working his/her way down steadily.
Was Shock at reading about people doing DIY sweeps!
Think I get mild pains every now and then, then they bugger off & sometimes its just baby moving quite vigorously.
Trying to pay attention but sort of ignore it at the same time if that makes sense.

Grin at Vowel frequency kitty, was so you were better at mooing??

MotherOfCleo · 08/06/2014 17:01

My contractions started 2 days before my edd, H arrived one day late.....was by section though, so could have taken longer.

qazxc · 09/06/2014 13:12

Sorting through baby clothes (we got loads from DSIL, she had a baby 6 months ago). We have loads of 0-3 months but not a lot of newborn. Do we need newborn sized? or are they pretty much the same as 0-3 months?

MotherOfCleo · 09/06/2014 13:43

H was 7lb 8 at birth and 0-3 was too big for him, we had about 4 or 5 newborn babygrows and about 7 or 8 0-1 month ones, in hindsight about 5 of each would have been fine. All depends on the size/shape of your baby though. Smile

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/06/2014 22:54

Qaz mine was 8'10 and we needed more newborn stuff than we had. It's quite a bit smaller than 0-3. I think the point is less about weight and more that newborn babies are all curled up; once they straighten out then they appear much bigger iyswim. We had 2 -4 weeks of newborn clothes (depending on brand) and 0-3 were massively too if at the beginning

Tallyra · 09/06/2014 23:42

Immi is just out of newborn and into 0-3, she's 9weeks today and just over 10lb now I think.

Can't help much with labour stuff as I was sectioned ten days early.

jessplussomeonenew · 10/06/2014 11:19

GTT results came back normal, as did full blood count - on top of nice normal scan all seems to be going really well Smile. Phew!

qazxc · 10/06/2014 21:39

Babs is still breech, so it's C-section for me next week.
Nice to have a definite date (well unless I go into labour early), and not have to worry about labour pains. But am a bit apprehensive about the recovery and not relishing the thought of the guts of a week in hospital (I'm abroad and they asked me to plan for 5 days stay).

Foodylicious · 10/06/2014 22:07

I guess at least now you know 'qazxc'
No signs of anything happening imminently here ( will be due on sunday), so you msy well beat me to it!
how are you doing otherwise?

jessplussomeonenew · 10/06/2014 22:19

Gosh Foody and Qaz, you're both getting really close now!

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/06/2014 23:01

Qaz are we allowed to know the date? Plenty of berries had good (easy, in their words) recoveries from a section so don't worry.

qazxc · 11/06/2014 07:46

Section booked on wednesday 18th, so exactly a week from today I'll be a mum Shock, it still seems surreal.

Tallyra · 11/06/2014 09:14

It's the weirdest feeling isn't it qaz?

Angelina77 · 11/06/2014 10:42

38 wk appointment this morning, he's 2/5 engaged (2/5ths in, 3/5ths out) so probably means I'm not that close. My back has started to really hurt in the last few days and had cramps and tightenings so I thought I might be nearly there but I guess not.

Getting fed up now, I can hardly walk now and constantly in pain :(

Foodylicious · 11/06/2014 10:52

Good to hear your appointment went well angelina, sounds just like mine last week!
not good about the pain though, hope you not waiting to much longer Smile

Sounds like your body is starting to get ready.

This last week or so has been such a wierd limbo. I was sooo expecting to be early so everything is more than ready and I am running out of things to do, and dont really feel like i can plan anything either. Its really odd knowing anything really could happen at any time, and that it just might not. [Hmm]

Angelina77 · 11/06/2014 11:45

Thanks foody, it sucks being so immobile but it should go once the baby arrives. I've been eying up the local gym , I can't wait to be able to exercise again.

I feel the limbo thing too, it's so weird being this close but still having no idea when or how it will happen.

New OBEM tonight - might be more difficult to watch it now though!

Foodylicious · 11/06/2014 12:03

I have not been able to watch OBEM or Cal the Midwife or similar since we started ttc!
A shame because I used to really enjoy it!

I am really looking forward to being able to go for a run (hopefully) in a couple of months (delusional much? Grin)
