Aoife I'm getting the hunger too! I'm only 5 weeks, so I suspect I'm inventing it. Breakfast at 7, school run, back for toast... And cheese is featuring too heavily, this baby will have cholesterol! Hope you foraged successfully.

squizita · 07/02/2014 14:49

No longer worried about lack of queaze. Grin

I'm meant to go to an 'as much as you can eat' restaurant for a mate's birthday tomorrow. It's usually my favourite. Can bluff the lack of wine with driving but they'll be intrigued by my 'small bowl of soup and plain noodles'.

TeaAndANatter · 07/02/2014 15:13

Fod, just as soon as you can manage it without grinding your teeth into stumps. I have to have my husband in the room to intervene as soon as my campaign slides into me just nagging all over again. Once he actually sat on me, and told my son to run for his life while he (DH) had a chance to calm me down a bit.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/02/2014 15:17

I survived the first 5 months on purely white or yellow food!
Bread, cheese, potatoes and mayo. At one point I nearly turned into a chip! Confused

And on that note, can someone please come over and make me a sandwich? PGP is killing me and I am stuck on the sofa!Sad

HopefulHamster · 07/02/2014 15:23

Hi all,

rang my GP this morning but I can't get even a phone appt til Monday, so a blood test would be Tues at the earliest. My clinic won't do it, and it's a two hour drive each way there anyway, which makes it tricky with work. Taking one hcg level is completely pointless, but as I have a scan on the 17th I think they think it's okay for me to wait whereas I'm thinking 'I might have to wait a week and a half after potentially miscarrying'. Grim.

But whatever, I will take pregnancy tests each morning (internet cheapies) and try to keep positive in the meantime! Still spotting but only tiny amounts of brown stuff (sorry tmi).

Hope everyone is as well as can be.

fod27 · 07/02/2014 15:36

Thanks squiz it's so much more different than teaching in a college as we contact parents on our lunch etc (well working lunch as I call them) and we only have meetings once a week really and they are usually scheduled in non teaching days - I suppose that's why I get so frustrated with the secondary education system

Hahaaa tea DH did something similar yesterday - he told me I wasn't allowed to chastise him in anyway - tbh I think it was out of concern for my pregnancy more than DS

LondonJen · 07/02/2014 16:10

kjhj5 that would be awesome! What a fab story. Lol Dave!

Ha ha Saagy! Would you like a chip butty?!

LondonJen · 07/02/2014 16:16

Hopeful, sorry you're having to wait things out that must be so hard. Glad to see you here though and sending you a big hug. Sounds good that it's only tiny amounts. Do you have some weekend plans to look forward to? x

Pixielady83 · 07/02/2014 17:11

oh hopeful poor you having to wait longer, it's awful the hoops they make you jump through Sad glad bleeding has settled though fingers crossed that is a good sign.

All fine on monitor, my day unit wasn't v friendly tbh but they were v busy and the other 2 ladies being assessed were admitted so they had plenty to deal with. A friendly smile wouldn't have gone amiss though Hmm

Feel a bit stressed by the hospital-ness of it all, one of the other ladies was having a big row with the Dr because she'd been promised a section and now the medical team were backtracking and pushing her towards a natural delivery. I'm sure they had good reason but it was upsetting to listen to her being so panicked and upset (clearly she'd had a traumatic previous delivery). Reminded me that for all the touchy feely comments of the community mw once you're in hospital you're on their agenda really. Sorry that sounds v negative of me. I think a lot depends on how busy your unit is.

SwedeAway · 07/02/2014 17:12

Hi all, may I join this thread? I got my BFP on wed and I am so happy but also scared that something will go wrongSad Had a mc in Dec and now pg in my first cycle after the mc. It's still so fresh in my mind and my head is all over the place.

Pixielady83 · 07/02/2014 17:19

welcome swede Smile I'm not surprised you feel a bit all over the place but hopefully everything will go very smoothly for you this time, congratulations on your bpf!

kjh v impressed you have a name sorted! and also feeling the need to find a recipe for those muffins now, they sound lush! we have agreed a boys name, which I'm ok with but don't love. And I've decided on a girls name but don't dare tell DH in case he vetoes it! figure its close enough now to have a sneaky attempt at the post labour 'oh doesn't she look like a ...' Grin worked last time (although I hadn't anticipated doing that, I honestly thought we would have days of discussion but DH surprised me and said 'yes that really suits her'!)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/02/2014 17:34

I'd kill for a fecking chip butty! with vinegar and cheese and mayo on slutty white bread! Sad
I had a brown bread salad sandwich for lunch! Sad
Gestational diabetes has ruined my the only joy i had left in life! Sad

HopefulHamster · 07/02/2014 17:43

Sorry to be so me me me

But can symptoms go one day and come the next early on?

Yesterday I felt nothing but today I feel more 'pregnanty' just more tender boobs etc (of course I am on progesterone for treatment whcih would cause this regardless).

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/02/2014 17:54

Absolutely Hamster. Especially in the early days. It's quite normal.

fod27 · 07/02/2014 18:01

hopeful try not to panic, I had red and brown blood in my first trimester (brown is a good sign as it's old blood) now I'm 34 weeks in, I know it's incredibly hard but try to stay positive

Aoifebelle · 07/02/2014 18:26

Hey hopeful, must be tough to be so far from the clinic. Is there anywhere closer or do you live in the sticks?

HopefulHamster · 07/02/2014 19:30

Not in the sticks, I just don't want to travel into London and all the private places locally seem to require a GP's letter, and as I'm not seeing a GP until Mon I might as well ask if I can have an NHS one anyway. And by then I will 'only' have one more week to wait for my early scan, so might as well wait... I am peeing on sticks in the meantime to see if I can spot any difference.

Penguinita · 07/02/2014 19:48

Lol kjh at your family knitted items, luckily the nanna's in my family do have some knitting skill - you are right saggy, I will treasure every item. Thankfully no ducks on the cardis yet like pixie although one of them has two massive pockets. Baby can keep its mobile phones in those Grin

Aoifebelle · 07/02/2014 19:48

Sounds like a plan.

LondonJen · 07/02/2014 20:13

Hi Swede, gald you stopped by for some company. After my bfp last week I felt so many things. I'm sure a read through this thread will make you feel like you are in good company. These ladies have been very welcoming xx

Hopeful, yes, absolutely. I am defintaely experiencing that and it is hard not to painc about it. I think I seem to get 1 in 3 days are more full on symptoms the other two less so. My boobs don't feel as sore yesterday or today but they are still huge so trying not to read anything into it!

It's so hard not to look for bad signs isn't it? I was worried I was getting a headache last night (I usually get one before my period and before my mmc I had a horrendous one -the nurse said both due to hormones dropping) and started getting quite freaked out. I think I am going to really struggle with that as we go forward.

And you are not me, me, me. I am sure you would be there if any of us needed a hand hold. Be kind to yourself xx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/02/2014 20:57

London are you drinking enough? Everything but diet coke made me feel sick in the early weeks and I had terrible dehydration headaches!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/02/2014 21:02

Talking of knitting, I got given http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae269/mumsphone/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-01/FB_IMG_13890285698384076_ZPSSVZ5HN4B.JPG this. I think it's great! Grin

Been awake since three. Happily coming up with various fundraising gimmics for our annual fundraising week. It isn't til october. All being well I will be on mat leave. So as you see, I am using this time constructively.
