Christine I hope your pelvic pain is easing

Pg I wasn't to big at 20 weeks and when I had my flu jab a few weeks later the nurse commented I had a small bump nice size. Nearly 34 week now and saw her again this week when see said ohhh your a lot bigger. Do you know what your having? A boy. A big boy by the looks of it because you've still got a few weeks to go. Thanks....

Hi rock. I'm just a couple if days infront of you on the stats list. How are you?

Fod I think you're coping remarkably well with everything that keeps getting thrown at you!

Hope everyone else is well xx

fod27 · 16/01/2014 00:32

I'm just hoping it'll do some good saggy we've had one member of the team hand her notice in because of similar behaviour and another has left on stress

penguin I've been thinking the same thing myself, spent the morning job searching, even considered taking a pay cut to get out of there

alyant79 · 16/01/2014 00:35

hi all, i've been AWOL but have popped in to say hi!
got a scan in two hrs time today, exactly two weeks after my last one, so I should be 8+2 or thereabouts based on the last scan.
quite nervous!!
haven't felt sick at all..... SCAN DOOM

fod27 · 16/01/2014 00:36

christine and total Thankyou, I think when we've been through the crap us ladies have your prepared for anything, I have to focus on the fact that we have been lucky enough to have this LO and even luckier to have a super supportive DH, the only thing keeping me going is knowing that in 9 weeks (ish) we can close our front door on the rest of the world and enjoy our little family
You ladies are my inspiration, the crap life has thrown at some of you ladies and yet you've shown such strength and courage - amazing women

fod27 · 16/01/2014 00:37

aly yayyyy!!! So excited for you! Here's to excellent scan news

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/01/2014 01:48

Fod stick to your guns. I f you leave they win.
In terms of not being able to stick it any longer, Google 'constructive dismissal'.

Its worth going to tribunal if you need to IMO.
My employer was told that the laws are draconian, and she basically had no chance.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/01/2014 01:49

Fecking stupid phone app! Angry

bakingtins · 16/01/2014 07:34

aly good luck for today. Feeling the scan doom is inevitable, it doesn't mean anything...will look out for your update later.

fod27 · 16/01/2014 07:41

Thankyou saggy

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/01/2014 08:00

Good luck today Aly.
Scan here too. I don't particularly feel doom Amy more, just anticipating getting cross of books get the same bloke as last time. Angry

pgchimp · 16/01/2014 08:09

fod, that sounds awful. I hope the meeting kicks off much better behaviour.

thanks for all the support on bump size, I feel much reassured by you lovely ladies.

aly and saggy best of luck with scans today.

Hi all

Nerdy, I totally get you anxiety. I am sure they will do the Doppler at 16 weeks. I am having another scan at 16 weeks as apparently it's pointless doing a Doppler with twins. If for any reason the Doppler doesn't pick up the heartbeat I am sure they will refer you for a scan.

To be honest, I think with 2nd trimester doom you just can't win. I am constantly sure something has gone wrong.

Remember: today I am pregnant.

Fod, so sorry about work, you really do not need the stress. You sound like you are coping with it amazingly.

allisgood1 · 16/01/2014 09:34

Marking my place. I feel so nauseated. Nothing is working. If it gets worse like it usually does I'm in big trouble Hmm

Hi all! Last day working from home here! Grin Although I've been up since 4am with an upset stomach and braxton hicks which isn't so great. I've had an upset stomach on and off all week so presuming it isn't early onset of labour(!) but this is the longest episode of bh I've had. Easing off now. Would be a little peeved (as well as pretty stressed obviously!) if I went into labour on my last day of work when I've been planning 6 weeks of rest! (When DD isn't around that is..!)

Glad to hear more good scan news Smile

Christine your poor pelvis. I've done that a couple of times in this pregnancy jumping to pick DD up off the floor or something and it's agony. Hope you're resting up so you can recover.

pg bump size is sooo subjective, I think people just always say the wrong thing. For months now people have been asking me if delivery is imminent because I'm little and bump is huge and I've felt so embarrassed. I know lots of friends who have barely shown until 25/26 weeks - particularly those who are taller or with long torsos if that makes sense. I'm sure it's bloating by the end of the day or just your muscles relaxing as the day goes on.

nerdy I found my doppler v reassuring between 12wk scan and 20wk scan. I haven't really used it since feeling regular movement but it really kept me going during that time. I think some people worry about them as people can stress if they can't find the hb, I never had any trouble though so from personal experience would recommend. Like penguin said, it's usually right down in your pelvis and I found it helped to have a full bladder to push the uterus up a bit.

Hi rock! nice to see you back. I'll join you in the countdown. I'm 33+4 and getting excited now. For some reason I feel convinced that baby will arrive by end of February (probably because there's a high chance of planned section by then due to baby's position) when in reality I bet baby does move and I end up waiting another 7 weeks! Got 3 days a week with DD in nursery and lots of house sorting jobs etc to get done so looking forward to some relaxed nesting which I didn't get to do last time due to SPD confining me to sofa and working from home until a week before DD arrived. Hope you're feeling ok and DS is looking forward to the new arrival Smile

Pixielady83 · 16/01/2014 10:48

saggy forgot to say - hope you got sorted for your GD appointment?

fod27 · 16/01/2014 11:43

pg Thankyou xxx it's nice of you to say, I hope so too... Although others have advised that I don't rock the boat as I'm on a 0 hour contract and the could simply inform me post maternity leave that they have no hours for me

kat I recall your going through something similar, it us disgusting treatment it really is (to think everyone is under the impression that your 'protected' when your pregnant) it's laughable - if it wasn't so sooo destroying -

Sooo ladies have any of you decided on how we will get back into out jeans post baby?

Pixielady83 · 16/01/2014 12:13

Hmm good question fod. They're moving my work office 10 minutes further away from the train station while I'm off (which will equate to 40 mins walking each way on my commute so 1 hr 10 mins walking per working day) so I think I'll be fine once I'm back at work - that's when the weight dropped off me last time only a flipping year later then

I put on way more weight post pregnancy last time than during pregnancy - it was all the coffee and cake meets with other mums and the sugar I needed to get me through the sleep deprivation! Really hoping to be a bit more careful this time. I only went up 1-2 sizes but looking back at the photos I looked 'big' and had flabby arms, big thighs etc. I don't mind about my tummy - it makes sense that won't go back to normal for a while if ever but it was all the chunk I put on elsewhere that bothered me.

There is now a buggy fitness club in my local park so I might sign up for that. Although I am scared of all the full on super fit gym bunny mums I might meet there and the leader who is ex military!!

fod27 · 16/01/2014 14:39

pixie the buggy club sounds brilliant! I've always been huge in pregnancy! With my first I went from a size 10 to 18, then I lost it all via breast feeding and sleep deprivation, with my second I went from a 10 to 20! But I found a old Beverlly Callard Work out DVD of my mums and it melted away (went down to a size 8) but I was 17 and then 20.,.. Now I'm 30 and I was 12/14 when we concieved this time (my body was still reeling from the mc) and I've put on 4stone so far
and my pregnancy has just hit the "your baby will put on half a lb a week phase" so I'm pretty sure I'll be twice the woman I was before ;0

Mabelandrose · 16/01/2014 14:42

Hi all,

I'm still lurking in the background and counting the days to my next scan. It's in Feb so still ages to wait. Having an anxious day. I don't know how people get through the first trimester.

I'm thinking about booking a holiday. That means if bad news at 12 week scan I habd something to focus on. If all is well it will be our last adult only holiday. Have others traveled long-ish haul while pregnant?

fod27 · 16/01/2014 15:16

mab we've booked one but it's post EDD just to escape visiting family lol, sounds like a good idea tho huni x

bakingtins · 16/01/2014 16:00

Hi mabel we went to South Africa for 2 weeks when I was pregnant with my first child - our last big holiday before we were condemned to camping in Devon! 2nd trimester is normally a good time to go, hopefully worries about MC have receded, you'll feel fairly well and mobile and able to enjoy it.

Pixielady83 · 16/01/2014 16:37

Good idea Mabel, although I'm not sure I would want a long flight at any stage of pregnancy! when pregnant with DD we went to Croatia and Montenegro when I was 18wks and it was a fab time to go away, I could still walk etc (got SPD later), felt happy in a bikini with a tiny bump, didn't feel sick and was mostly enjoying food again. DH and I slept loads and had a fab time. So sorry you are feeling so anxious. Any milestone, big or small, is helpful in getting you through to 12 wks. I tried to do things on every day off this pregnancy to keep me distracted.

fod I'm jealous you've got a holiday booked! I've been looking at package hols but we really need to change the car this year so think a lovely beach holiday is probably out of the question and we will be camping instead. Nowt wrong with that though Smile

Pixielady83 · 16/01/2014 16:46

fod you should google buggy fitness for your area, I'd bet you would find one! one of my friends looked into doing a franchise in her area and there were already 3 set up so think it is getting quite popular! think ours is called 'pram power' Grin
