Hehehe me me me!! (wiggles ineffectually on ball) I think it will probably be total though, she's got a date and everything lucky duck! I'm down to my 'don't really want to do these' jobs on my pre baby to do list: cleaning fridge, scrubbing porch floor, bathroom floor. The floor scrubbing probably would help things along but it's going to hurt!

Sick of doing endless photo books. Onto 2009, the year DH got into photography and took about a million (admittedly quite nice) photos and then did bugger all with them so yours truly is sorting through 1000s of jpgs. Yawn.

squizita · 17/02/2014 10:39

Just ate some cereal (crunchy but clusters) and I have really sore inside-lips now. Red and scratched looking. Hoping I haven't developed a pregnancy allergy! Dh suspects pregnancy softened gums being sandpapered by the cereal.

Had the same cereal yesterday, no problem. Hmm.

squizita · 17/02/2014 10:39

Crunchy but clusters, not crunchy butt.

squizita · 17/02/2014 10:39

NUT.

Pixielady83 · 17/02/2014 10:42

Sorry squiz no advice but you did make laugh - partly first due to 'sore inside-lips' (thinking too gynaecologically!) and the crunchy butts. Grin

JBrd · 17/02/2014 10:49

Crunchy butts. Love it Grin

HopefulHamster · 17/02/2014 11:02

Congrats liesl!

Just a quick From me as in car, but good news at scan, one little baby with a heartbeat . Very relieved and I did a lot of crying! Embryo measured 6w3 and I think I am 6w6 but I think that is in the realms of normal - is it?! Eeeep!

squizita · 17/02/2014 11:04

Hopeful yep 3 days out is ok. Mine was 3 out at 6 weeks, and was bang on at 8 weeks! So glad for you! :)

LondonJen · 17/02/2014 11:16

Leisl Congratulations! Hope you are both doing beautifully

JBrd glad things seem calmer, your scan plan sounds like a good one.

Hopeful and Fedup I hope your scans today/tomorrow show lovely sticky beans and give you a brief respite from anxious times. Hopeful when I start to have those thoughts I stop myself when I can. Not always possible but often I can change the subject in my head.

MrsG I'm sorry it's such a hard journey. Roll on scan for you! Again some respite from the worry at least for a litle while.

I don't really know if this will help anyone else but I have a ring that belonged to my great grandmother. She lived through the first world war, not knowing if her husband would return etc all the anxiety they had and the not knowing but they had to get on with day to day life. Then my granny had the ring in the same situation in the 2nd ww. I am wearing this ring purposefully right now and when I get ahead of myself with worry I think about that and I think if both of my relatives could manage to get through that time then I can try to do the same. That maybe sounds a bit bonkers and extreme written down?! But I find it grounds me.

LondonJen · 17/02/2014 11:19

Crunchy butts! WAAAHAAAAAHAHAHAHAA! Oh Squiz you make me laugh

Hopeful YEY! Fantastic news. Sticky little bean!

Pixielady83 · 17/02/2014 11:29

hamster whoop whoop!!! brilliant news!

Just found out that 1300 photos I thought had uploaded on Saturday haven't

NerdyBird · 17/02/2014 11:35

Hi ladies

I'm at work so shouldn't be posting but I am really struggling to cope with not knowing whether everything is ok or not. I've another two weeks until the next scan and I'm not sure I can manage it. I don't really feel pregnant anymore, my bump doesn't seem to be getting any bigger and I don't know if I'm feeling movements or not. I sometimes get a funny feeling quite low down, but I have ulcerative colitis so funny feelings in my tummy are not uncommon. I think these feel a bit different but maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I bought some maternity clothes at the weekend but can't really bring myself to wear them as it just doesn't feel like I'm going to end up with a baby.
Am back to wondering if a doppler would help or make it worse.
Agh!

Pleased for the happy scan and baby news! JBrd hope things get better for you.

Pixielady83 · 17/02/2014 11:42

nerdy I found my angel sounds helped me in those in between weeks (think you're post 12 weeks is that right?). Although I show quite quickly, I had a few weeks this time when bloating stopped and I just didn't look or feel pregnant and it was weird. Hang on in there because it will kick in again.

Alb1 · 17/02/2014 13:19

That's great news hopeful, n I think being a few days put is perfectly normal, I measured 5+5 at at 6+2 scan n then bang on at my 12 week scan on Friday so it's all normal :-)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/02/2014 13:20

being one of the thread grandma's I feel the need for a cautionary word. Wink
Medics aren't keen on home doppler. They are very unreliable before at least 20 weeks apparently, it can be very hard to differentiate between your own heart beat, placental noise and the babies hb and can cause false worry when you can't find the hb.
Use with caution. Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/02/2014 13:24

Just got out of Antenatal. Unless anything happens before, I am officially booked in for induction on the 6th of March. I'm trying not to tell anyone in RL, im going to say the 8th, as a/ this means we won't be bombarded with "have you had her yet" messages, and b/ it gives us a couple of days peace if she ends up in special care, which is entirely possible. so remember, you lot are the only ones who know. Don't spread it about! Wink Grin

MrsGiraffe12 · 17/02/2014 13:37

How exciting saggy let's hope she doesn't need scbu and you can have a few snugly days at home before being bombarded with visitors etc xx

JBrd · 17/02/2014 13:47

Saggy Your secret is safe with us Grin I think it's an excellent plan - nothing more infuriating than the 'It is here yet?' messages!

Hopeful Excellent news! Agree that a few days out is nothing to worry about. Hope you can relax a bit now.

London That is a lovely story - sometimes you need something that grounds you and gives you a sense of perspective.

Nerdy How far along are you? Could you maybe talk to your midwife to see if she could schedule you in for a check-up between now and your next scan? The in-between limbo is just awful, you feel like going crazy. Is there anything you can do to distract yourself? I usually try to bury myself in work, and then lots of activities at home. Go out for dinner with friends, meet ups at weekends. Is there anyone you can talk to, a good friend, maybe? I have a couple of go-to mates who will always listen with a compassionate ear when I moan. In fact, I'm going to meet with them tonight, and believe me, they will get an earful or two Wink
I think I'd agree with saggy that a home Doppler has the potential to do more worse than good...

My brown discharge seems to have stopped... I so hope that it won't come back!

Aoifebelle · 17/02/2014 13:59

woo hoo, this is a good thread day, babies, good scans, disappearing discharge (still have all crossed for you JBrd)
nerdy last time round my epau were very understanding about how nervous I was. They were pretty generous with the scans. You might be able to get an extra one out of yours.

saggy as you are looking for jobs, how about starting a new thread? If this thread vanished I swear I would go bonkers. Let's see if you make it to the end of another one.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/02/2014 14:08

OK. New thread started. I can't link to it as I'm on my phone but it's on the list with all of the usual stuff and if nobody else does it I will link when I get home. Smile

kjh5 · 17/02/2014 14:23

We are a chatty lot! Here's the link to the new thread - thanks saggy: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2000476-Wading-into-spring-with-the-all-new-shiny-Posifrickentivity-thread-PG-after-MC-Dive-right-in

saggy that is AWESOME news about having a date! How exciting that the end is very much in sight :)

Nerdy I remember the weeks before the 20week scan being very hard, I will say that the movements you think you can almost feel are very probably little kicks. When you start feeling them regularly you'll realise you've actually been able to feel the baby move for a while :) It does get a lot easier after the 20 week scan even although I was a miserable cow for most of the second trimester.

I can't remember who asked about the emotional rollercoaster but that is exactly what this entire pregnancy has been like for me. One minute I literally can't contain my excitement and the next I'm convinced I've: cooked the baby somehow/won't be able to cope with a newborn/won't actually ever give birth and just be perpetually pregnant for the rest of my life... the list of ridiculousness goes on. I'm sure this is all down to hormones and of course general MC anxiety doesn't help. But it does get easier the closer to you get to the finish line! Every time I get a kick in the ribs or a bounce on my bladder I realise that the sprog is perfectly happy in there and one way or another, sooner than we think, we'll have a tiny little person here taking over our lives Grin

NerdyBird · 17/02/2014 14:26

I've no end of distractions, work, things to do. It doesn't last for very long though. I don't think any of my friends would understand - I tried to talk to one (she has had a baby after having MC) but I find people don't want to acknowledge your fears, especially after 12 weeks. My mum's about the only person who will, and that's because sadly she had a late loss herself so knows it can happen.

My EPU only goes up to 12 weeks and I'm 18+3. Going to the ante-natal unit or midwife means a whole morning off work which I'm not keen on as I won't have time to catch up.

I know dopplers aren't necessarily a good thing, but they are the ONLY thing you can use at home.
Still undecided about what to do :(

fod27 · 18/02/2014 00:26

nerdy I have a Doppler and it's been a godsend for me - Esoecially after I had taken a fall out of the shower ;( also I didn't feel movements until 20 + and was told by the MW not to expect anything concrete until 22 weeks. Hope that helps
