Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

piper hang in there, the worry is terrible I know, partially because it's so out of your control.

Refreshes page for the umpteenth time waiting for thunder to update us

Boomgoestheweasel · 22/10/2013 09:21

Where is Thunder??

CatsCantFlyFast · 22/10/2013 09:24

I think the appointment can take 30 to 45 mins for 20 weeks (and the hospital were bound to be running late) - does that sound about right?

Also i seem to remember she has a huge long drive to the hospital.... although she may be able to post from her phone.

Thundercatsarego · 22/10/2013 09:31

I'm here I'm here, sorry to keep you all waiting. It all looks fine! All measurements within range. Phewwww.

Angelina77 · 22/10/2013 09:32

Hi all, does anyone know a good cure for trapped wind and increased stomach acid? I'm constantly in pain and always paranoid that it's actually cramps starting.

Angelina77 · 22/10/2013 09:32

gz Thunder :)

PoppySeedBun · 22/10/2013 09:36

Yay thunder! Hooray for good news!

angelina it may be obvious, but Rennies are my constant companion and seem to help. There are other things you can take, but you might want to check which ones are OK for pregnancy with pharmacist/GP/MW.

Sitting here on the tube platform, dithering about whether to continue into work. Feel lightheaded and headachy today, but suspect I might feel worse if I go home and fester today. Feel like a nutter :(

Brodicea · 22/10/2013 09:39

Yay thunder! Smile

Oh dear poppy - don't force yourself though if you feel faint!

Boomgoestheweasel · 22/10/2013 09:44

Hurrah thunder! Was it a Homer? Did Mr Thunder get a good squizz at the undercarriage? Grin

Pics please!

Angelina not wearing anything tight (especially not tights!!), not eating anything wheaty, and lying on your stomach to have a good fart the minute you get home! Peppermint tea is also good but prepare to trump like a foghorn...

Poppy poor old you. If you do go in make sure you don't force yourself to stay if you feel rotten x

Thanks Poppy, I'll try some. I've tried Gaviscon before but it did nothing and tastes rank.

I know how you feel, I've dragged myself to work today even though I hardly slept and I feel dreadful. Made worse by the fact that I've got to cover it up in case people realise what's wrong. Grrr... not happy today :(

Angelina77 · 22/10/2013 09:48

Boom haha, excellent, that'll go down well in the office.

CatsCantFlyFast · 22/10/2013 09:54

thunder great news. Huge waves of relief at your end??! Anything nice planned for the rest of the day
Angel there's something called windeeze (or similar) that the pharmacist gave me. I didn't take them as the gaviscon did the trick for me (indigestion). Anyway ditto about not wearing anything right around your stomach

MotherOfCleo · 22/10/2013 10:03

Yay thunder!!! Congrats, trust me 20 weeks to 30+ flies by! Quite scarily quickly actually. Shock

Lucky that everything was within normal range, at our 20 week scan we were told he had hugely long legs, a very chubby middle and his head circumference was off the chart....ouch! I just hope his head is now normal size or I'm in trouble Wink

Thundercatsarego · 22/10/2013 10:05

Thanks guys. No we didn't see any undercarriage and we weren't offered the option to find out the sex either. Thunder kitten was all curled up most if the time. After dutifully filling my bladder in the early hours I had to go and empty it because baby was too squashed.

Relief is just sinking in, back to work this afternoon but stopping for a sneaky coffee and cake and wind down on the way home. Will try and post photo...

Angel and poppy hope you feel better- it's miserable having trapped wind and that light headed queasy thing.

Angelina77 · 22/10/2013 11:07

Thanks all, of course today I've got my worst leggings on which I keep trying to hoik up to bra level to avoid my stomach. I'll nip out and get a few remedies later.

I've just had my HCG results back from last Friday which are double at 4 weeks what they were at 5 weeks when I MCd. So that must be good, right? I sort of expected it to be high having had a BFP at 3 weeks.

BelissimaLol · 22/10/2013 11:10

I am privileged to have seen thunder's scan pic
Thund maybe you can post pic on fb?? Time will fly now, I promise. Next thing you know you'll be packing hospital bag. Especially after your special party on the 2nd you will have to think about that!!
Boom or merk can you guess the sex from scan??? I need to know GrinGrin

Thundercatsarego · 22/10/2013 11:21

Angel great news about your levels. Maybe it's twins with such an early bfp?

I will try and post the scan now. I reckon the baby is a pirate because the photo clearly shows it looking through a hand-telescope. ARRRRRR. I'll put it on FB too lol!

Home now and feeling very sick so going to work under a duvet today.

Boomgoestheweasel · 22/10/2013 11:23

Merk can, she's magic. I can inversely guess in that I'm always wrong, 100% of the time!

Angelina oooh maybe it's twins! I want a twin buddy!

OP posts:
BelissimaLol · 22/10/2013 11:29

Dr Merk please tell me even if thunder doesn't want to know i do
I can post my 20 week one of a girl for comparison purposes!

Angelina77 · 22/10/2013 11:30

I would love it to be twins, my workmate's GF is pregnant with twins at the moment, it would be hilarious if I was too. I wonder if they'll be able to tell at my 6 week scan?

Thundercatsarego · 22/10/2013 11:34

Can you click on my name?

Boomgoestheweasel · 22/10/2013 11:36

Yep, ThunderPirateKitten is live!

OP posts:
Angelina77 · 22/10/2013 11:39

Definitely a mini telescope in there :)

Foodylicious · 22/10/2013 11:42
