Hope everyone had a lovely Saturday, I completely overdid it and worked an entire day standing up on a pitch at a foodie festival! Am paying for it now.... I even got home, washed up all the bits and bobs then proceeded to bake a cake Grin I just tried getting up off the couch and have found that I too am now only capable of walking like an elderly penguin...

Was chatting to lots of people today and one chap guessed that I was 8 months pregnant!! (29 weeks today... ) I must look bloody huge! sigh

Xx

PoppyS34wantstogohome · 19/05/2012 21:17

Ok, not entirely good news from me.

Had another big bleed early this morning. Got transferred to labour ward, in side room with one on one midwife care.
Nil by mouth and on drip. Baby being constantly monitored and doing ok so far.

My vital signs are ok, despite blood loss & iron levels good. Abnorn

PoppyS34wantstogohome · 19/05/2012 21:18

Abnormal GTT test results though, so got to have different one done soon, once I am a bit more stable.

Going to be a long night.

Keep fingers crossed /pray etc.... :) xx

ishopthereforeiam · 19/05/2012 21:23

So sortie to hear that poppy, stay strong - you and baby are troopers! Sending hugs, prayers and much love xxx

PictureThis · 19/05/2012 22:42

Thinking of you Poppy and will keep everything crossed for you. Hang in there.

therumoursaretrue · 19/05/2012 22:42

Oh poppy sorry to hear that, will be thinking of you and baby. Hope your much better asap.

Needles I hope your feeling a bit better.

Hope you all had a lovely Saturday, I've been stuck with loads of intoxicated people watching the rugby which was interesting!

GwenGotLost · 19/05/2012 23:11

:( sorry to hear that poppy but had to laugh at your other post about hiccups. Did they say how the GTT results were abnormal?

starting to worry about all the stuff that needs doing before baby comes...

PoppyS34wantstogohome · 20/05/2012 08:24

My GTT result was 9.1 which is apparently abnormal, so I have got to have a different GTT test done that involves proper fasting and three blood tests.

Still on labour watch :) have got period type cramps which are unpleasant, but are also being monitored, attached to another drip and still nil by mouth just in case.

Still bleeding very slowly, but baby is very happy and doing well. I was even allowed off the monitor for 2 hours sleep in the early hours.

Purplelooby · 20/05/2012 09:16

Morning poppy big hugs in your direction. I hope things start to get better soon and I'm really pleased to hear that they let you get some sleep at least. You and your baby and obviously very strong xx

ishop congratulations on the scan - I'm looking for deals so let me know whether you spot anymore. Did he look like anyone? My SIL just had one and their DD looked just like my brother already. Very wierd.

hamncheese · 20/05/2012 09:58

Hey poppy that's so crappy about bleeding again, not fair at all. Sounds like you are being tough. Thinking of you and your baby x

MrsMigginslovespies · 20/05/2012 11:11

Morning all. It's actually sunny here today!

So sorry to hear you're bleeding again Poppy. Thinking of you and hope you're doing ok today. Is it easing up at all today?

Spent ALL DAY yesterday vegging on sofa watching The Killing. I don't think I've EVER watched so much tv in one go! So nice. But need to make up for it today by going for nice walk with DDog, painting another coat onto the bookshelves, getting some food in (we even had takeaway pizza last night!) and getting sorted bits for the week. We're going away up to my parents' cottage in the Highlands on Sat so want to sort out stuff in good time for going. Be lovely to get away for a few days. Then we get back Wed night, have a day at home, then down to Cumbria for an epic long weekend with MIL etc for their ruby wedding (eek). Will be nice I'm sure, but it's all action packed every day and I'm not sure I have the strength...!

Anyhoo, off for more chocolate muffins and a refresh of tea. Hope you all enjoy your Sundays and continue to do well. x

susiegrapevine · 20/05/2012 11:37

Hey Poppy sending all my love and lots of hugs - hope little one decides to stay put! and hope you get a better result for gtt test!

Hot water not working again this morn but managed to have a bath last night so am quiet clean! Maybe our bolier does not like mornings!

Will try again tonight or might shower round my mums as we go there for sunday dinner anyway and who knows when the plumber will be able to come out to fix it.

miaboo · 20/05/2012 12:29

I've had a horrible week and will be glad to feel well again!
Tuesday me and hubby really poorly with a flu virus then dc1 comes home from school with it to, Got up wednesday nipped to the loo and discovered I was bleeding :( so cue me and hubby have an hospital trip both still feeling very poorly, They did an internal said there was no active bleeding and to monitor but to go back if it continued and I would be put under consultant led care.
so spent the last few days feeling really poorly with this virus and trying not to panic, ended up at the doctors yesterday and now on antibotics for a chest infection to! never felt so achey, hot, tired and sick as I do now :(

Lovemarmite · 20/05/2012 12:34

Sending you lots of best wishes Poppy and hope all is well x

Thanks everyone for my well wishes. We've had a week off and so back to work tomorrow, we hoped that we'd have had the new bedroom decorated etc but we put it off and yesterday DH took the ceiling wall paper down and the ceiling almost all fell down too, or at least the plaster. So now off to B&Q to try and get stuff to sort it. Looks like this room is going to take ages to do now.

Hope your boiler gets sorted soon susie
and hope you're feeling loads better Needles!
Hope all is okay? Westcountry x

Happy Sunday and hope everyone sees the sun :)

PoppyS34wantstogohome · 20/05/2012 22:24

Oh no miaboo hope you feel better soon. :(

thanks for all your continued support & wishes, they're really appreciated. Had a really bad day today, but baby is doing really well, and my vital signs are ok so nothing else can be done except wait and see what happens.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend and bumps are behaving xxx

susiegrapevine · 20/05/2012 22:25

Oh dear now m poor ds fell on a fish tank and gashed his head open! Spent 3 and half hours in a & e having it glued back together, he is ok tho thank god! Not good on top of boiler stupidness! Feel very very tired and drained now! Don't want to deal with anything more! Only just ate my reheated sunday dinner which bless my mum she put to one side for us.

marmite glad to hear you are feeling better and have had a break

maiboo sorry to hear you are ill get well soon!

ishopthereforeiam · 20/05/2012 23:56

Hi poppy hope you get some sleep tonight and tomorrow is a bettervday Brew

miaboo sorry to hear that, hope you feel better soon?

mrsm I'm loving the killing!! Soooo addictive,it's filled the homeland void for us.

purple I'll keep you posted if I spot any deals- which part of the country are u in?

On the 3d scan ds to be looks like the spitting image of dd when she was that stage and she came out looking like her 3d scan (which looked like dh when he was a baby) dd looks more like a mix of us both now. I heard a theory lots of bsbies look like the father due to evolution so the paternity isn't called into question? Hmm

Glimpers · 21/05/2012 07:45

Morning all! Sorry for being AWOL for so long, life has been v hectic here, so just been trying to get through each day/ week.
Have been lurking though and trying to keep up with everyone.
News from here, we had a good 20 week scan and bump is a girl Smile DH almost jumped round the room when the sonographer told us and didn't stop smiling all day!
I got made redundant last week, but it is what I wanted (good pay off plus all my mat pay included) so just got to get used to not working for a while now. Trying to find things to fill my day, which I think will involve a lot of decorating as we've had our building work finished so now have a proper room for bump Smile
Poppy keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, how are you today?
Well I'll sign off for now as this is epically long!
Happy Monday everybody Smile

ffscatmove · 21/05/2012 08:37

Congrats on your girl Glimpers, she'll help balance things out a bit!

Thinking of you Poppy, hope everything is ok & LO holding on for a bit longer...
Hope you feel better soon miaboo, am just getting over 2nd cold in a month so have every sympathy.

A big tray of Brew & Biscuit for everyone I think!

28 wk MW appointment this afternoon - off to pee in a pot now so I can have asparagus soup for lunch! (sorry, TMI!)

faintpinkline · 21/05/2012 08:54

Morning all.

Sorry to hear some of you are having such a bad time. I hope it improves quickly.

I have a growth scan today followed by clinic at the hospital. I will take a good book as they usually keep me waiting forever and ever.
Not at my best today as it is. Dp wriggled all night baby kicked and I barely slept. In bed mumsnetting but had best get up Soon

Vinolover · 21/05/2012 08:55

Congratulations on your girl Glimpers :) I agree with FFS about her evening things out! great news about your payout too!

Sorry about your bleeding Mia. Fingers crossed it's just an isolated incident for you.

How are you doing today Poppy?

I heard that theory too Ishop and both my children came out looking like my dh but my ds has turned into my absolute double and my dd is the image of my dh. I can't wait to see who this little guy looks like!

Happy monday all :)

hamncheese · 21/05/2012 10:01

Ugh so much rubbish stuff going on for everyone at the moment... not fair! Hope all feel better soon and are ok.

Don't know if it's the hormones or what but I've taken to this delightful routine of not knowing when I am worried/stressed about something until I am trying to go to sleep then I have a panic attack while I'm starting to fall asleep and every little noise wakes me up and my heart goes like mental. Really worrying as baby seems to get really agitated when it happens. I think it's to do with my brain being all foggy so I'm not aware of my own stress during the day and then it has to come out at night.

Has anyone else noticed a recent upsurge in baby brain? Last 2 weeks or so I've suddenly lost all my brain speed. Everything people say takes AGES to go in and I mix words up all the time (banana and sausage were interchangeable the other day as they are the same shape...) and can't remember things someone said a few minutes prior. Kind of worrying but hoping it's just normal. Also if someone points something out (like DH says look at that as we walk down the street or in the car) I NEVER see it as by the time the words have formed meaning in my head the thing to look at is gone a long time ago :(

hamncheese · 21/05/2012 10:05

Oh also a little note of interest. My Mum is a teacher and is able to take 5 days of grand-paternity leave. This is in Scotland so not sure if it is the same in other parts of the UK but she just has to get a copy of my MAT B1 and make a cover letter saying she is birth partner and going to help me when baby comes (and note of EDD) and she gets 5 days off paid to take up to 58 days after the birth. Pretty happy about that as I have no maternity allowance and DH isn't taking paternity (just holidays) as the paternity pay is less than half his income so unfeasible... seems unfair that he can't even get 2 weeks off that are paid at a sustainable level when I'm claiming nothing at all!

hamncheese · 21/05/2012 10:06

*she is one of the two birth partners I mean, poor DH Blush
