mrsm sounds like good progress!

mcbaby hope you're resting up and feeling better?

poppy glad the bleeding is slowing but sorry you're still in hospital. The mortgage / estate agent saga continues for us... Fingers crossed we get it sorted I. A week or two. Hope yours Is faring better!

I am now enormous and getting sooo out of breath even just walking down the road. Boo!

PoppyS34wantssleep · 16/05/2012 15:56

I am still here and they aren't letting me out for a while :( the estate agents are being complete asses, but hopefully the mortgaqe person can sort them out. It's all so STRESSFUL... sorry Angry :(

Can't stop crying, which is rubbish, and making me feel even worse as I know it's not solving anything at all - someone give me a virtual slap please. :o

sigh

Right, so what fun things has everyone else been up too? I need to hear what's been going on outside these walls... any snow anywhere? :O

GwenGotLost · 16/05/2012 16:13

It's sunny here :o got washing out on the line and everything... I've cooped myself up inside and am working through a few sewing projects though.

Call up the estate agents and yell at them for making you stressful when you're already pregnant and in hospital; it'll make them panic and you feel better Wink

Other news; a friend contacted me yesterday in a panic as we'd seen each other on Monday and his boy now has Slapped cheek syndrome which he had already unknowingly contracted; I phoned MW but have been told I shouldn't have any problems, but I'm keeping an eye on LO's movements and will be asking again at my hospital AN appt tomorrow :)

oh, needles, I'm 26 and in Swansea, for future reference

alisonmcg · 16/05/2012 16:49

Hi poppy sorry to hear you're still in hospital! Wish I had some exciting news to keep you entertained but it's just usual work for me at the moment! I am hoping to have some good news soon though as my brother and his wife's first child was due on the 12th so we're all counting down the minutes until the wee one decides to join us! Will be my first niece/nephew and the first grandchild for my parents so is all very exciting and now desperate to meet him/her!! Think it will also make it all feel very real for me too once there is a wee baby around as that will be me and DP in a few months time too!

Finally wrote our list of things to buy the other night, although keep having items pop into my head that we forgot to put on it! Now we need to actually start getting stuff so we can begin to tick things off the list!

I had entered a massive nesting phase where everything had to be immaculate but have been so tired again the last couple of weeks that this has sadly gone out of the window. Would quite like for it to come back though as much prefer living in a sparkling flat rather than tripping over piles of laundry that need to be folded and put away!

panpipe · 16/05/2012 18:20

Hi all, doing my usual catching up on the bus! Although I'm getting really fed up of them and the London traffic this week, and we're not even near the Olympics yet {grumble}

Poppy sorry to hear you're still in hospital; virtual slaps not necessary and I'd say you're perfectly entitled to wallow for a bit!

Had another of my panics today since baby hadn't moved too much this morning, but it's back to its usual karate chopping self now.

Went to the beauty salon at lunchtime and I tell you what, a bikini wax isn't half awkward when your bump is twice the size it was last time!

Have a good evening all; I'm off to a band rehearsal to continue bump's musical education!

Purplelooby · 16/05/2012 18:36

Ok I'm not even going to TRY to catch up on this thread but I can't believe how much it has grown!! I haven't posted since I was 10 weeks - hmmmm.

Anyway it's a boy!

How is everyone? Has anyone had a 3D scan or is anyone considering one??

Purplelooby · 16/05/2012 18:37

Oh sorry and updated due date and age - turned 32 Blush and also the due date is officially 29th Aug now.

Lovemarmite · 16/05/2012 18:53

Sorry to hear Poppy that you're back in hospital, hope all is fine and everyone is being great.

Sorry, couldn't post after Monday. we had to say good bye to our pusscat as he was in such a bad way with mouth cancer. Now DH and I are just devastated as everything reminds us of him just being with us all the time. Oh dear, two days gone now and it's not yet easier.

I got a little worried as LO one was not moving much but she made up for it this morning and so all is fine, I'm sure.

Hope everyone is well.

ffscatmove · 16/05/2012 19:21

Oh marmite sorry to hear that, even when you know it's for the best it's still heartbreaking Sad. Thinking of you x

Glad to hear I'm not only one feeling tired and fed up - keep getting teary & winding myself up over nothing, getting cross with DH over smallest things too. On a positive note, have done the rota up till my last day & cos of all the xtra I've done am now finishing earlier than I thought... 8 weeks on Friday! Grin but also v scary....

Best wishes to everyone having problems at the moment, glad to hear bump staying put for the moment Poppy

susiegrapevine · 16/05/2012 21:00

hey poppy keeping my fingers crossed for you xxx send virtual hugs!

Hey marmite sending virtual hugs to you too dunno what i would do if we lost our cat as she was like our 1st child and we got her when we bought this flat our 1st home together.

Hope everyone else is doing ok

saw the midwife today but not my usual one and getting information out of her was like getting blood out of a stone, was moaning to dh about it earlier! Have some glucose i think in my urine and she is sending it off to see if they can grow something am assuming this is possible uti but she really was not clear on that and reading my notes which is not easy (handwriting not good) this is what it seems help anyone??

Plus i have had some itching down below so was asking about it no smell or unusal discharge but i had to say to her i think its thrush - she said go and see gp to get medication but i have never had thrush before and so have no idea really but she did not make any other suggestions as its does not itch all the time and not every day would just go and see gp but its sooooo hard to get an appointment there and i am too weary to battle for one. What do you think???

oh yeah and when she was trying for the heart rate of baby she stood in silence for soooo long that i thought there was something wrong even though i could hear the heart beat and baby moving turned out he is just so active she had trouble reading it but did not say until the end just stood there waiting and making me worry!!! Hope my midwife is not off sick for too long and i get her back again do not wanna see that one again!

WelshLadyCDF · 16/05/2012 21:06

I saw my midwife yesterday, she measured my bump and says I am measuring 32cm at 28 weeks, (I think I should be measuring 28 cm give or take a cm each way). So I am off for a growth scan on monday,

Has anyone else had this experience in this or previous pregnancies?

xxx

PoppyS34wantssleep · 17/05/2012 06:59

Oh marmite :( sending you virtual hugs and Thanks, sorry to hear about your cat. Xx

Congrats on your boy purple.

susie stand in midwife sounds rubbish :( fingers crossed your usual one is back soon.

Good luck with scan welsh sometimes they can miss measure, it's not very exact, so hopefully the scan will reassure you. And you get to see little one again :)

the London weather sponsored by my hospital bed is cloudy grey but not raining (yet) as far as I can see :o

wishing you a wonderful day, whatever day it is! :o :o

geekette · 17/05/2012 07:26

you too, Poppy!

hamncheese · 17/05/2012 08:19

mamite I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. While it is a comfort that he is not in any pain now it's totally acceptable to be upset about it for as long as you need. It will get better though and we're here until it does Thanks

poppy you are totally entitled to be upset about the whole situation. It must be so frustrating when there are things needing done and you can't do them properly as you are in hopsital, and even more annoying that you know hospital is the safest until the bleeding stops. Really hoping things clear up soon and you can get home to your own space. Stay positive if possible x

Ooh what are you sewing gwen??

I'm feeling that recent inertia too alison... my brain wants to tidy and organise but my body doesn't.

On that note we have decided to alter the pricing on our flat shortly to try and generate a bit more interest in hopes of selling with enough time to move before august. If nothing has happened by the first few weeks in June though we'll just be settling to stay here for the delivery/first month or so and sticking a long moving date on any sale. That means by mid-june I can actually work on proper nesting type stuff finally! Does mean there will be no nursery though... except a cat nursery. Our second bedroom is cold and used as a storage/study so just going to get all the cats' crap into there and make it a place to give them their own space and also where I can keep them out the way as I am sure they will be a nusiance in the early days. Will then get baby stuff into our bedroom can't wait though I know I'm going to be a whale when doing it haha Grin

Congrats on your boy purple I'm having a 3d scan on 9th June! Others have had them already though...

The stand in midwife sounds awful susie :( you could try the pharmacist re: itching. I'm not sure if there will be restrictions on what they will give you if does sound like thrush (probably as you can't even get strepsils ha!) but at least could help diagnose and maybe give you a soothing cream if you would rather see if it goes away on its own seeing as you have no other symptoms? Plus you can also try calling the midwife phone number thing (in the back of the preg record for me...) and ask them for advice they may help you out with an appointment or something?

No experience but hope the scan is okay welsh hopefully it will be and you get to see the LO again :)

So anyway something mildly amusing to cheer up anyone who likes to laugh at me... last night I woke about 4am to sounds upstairs. Sort of moving and creaking and people carrying and dumping stuff. Not ridiculously loud but because it was 4am it was silent outside and enough that it woke me and was keeping me up. Waited a bit and then realised it had woken DH too so decided therefore it wasn't just me being a fickle sleeper. So it goes on and on and I'm getting all irate like who the hell is moving stuff at 4 in the morning?! loonies that's who! It doesn't stop so I end up stomping through to the kitchen, waking all the kitties, grabbing the broom and stomping back through which it itself must have been funny and then I clamber up on the bed which was NOT easy in present wobbly state and start rattling the roof with the broom like one of those crazy old women would do. Seriously worried I may be starting on the crazy cat lady thing in my tent of a nighty with the broom in hand. Anyway I did a few taps and then they quietened for a minute or two and then started again so I did it again except got a bit red mist-ish and totally hammered the roof until DH told me to calm down. Yeah well it worked anyway but this morning the image of what I must have looked like is amusing me to no end.

Have a super day all :)

panpipe · 17/05/2012 08:23

Oh no marmite sorry to hear about your poor little cat Sad

How's your crocheting coming along Poppy? You must be getting pretty good at it now. What's the latest on when you might be allowed out?

MW appt for me this afternoon and I'm hoping that my efforts in cutting down on sugar will make a difference in the glucose in my urine as she found a trace of it last time. Nobody told me to cut down and I'm not even sure it's linked but I like to feel that I'm at least doing something! Susie I think you had this too didn't you? MW told me last time that it's quite common and that pregnancy itself can raise your glucose levels; in fact that's one of the ways they used to test for pregnancy in the 'old days'. So fingers crossed for both of us that it's nothing sinister!

Hope you all have a good day Smile

susiegrapevine · 17/05/2012 08:56

Thanks for that pan a bit more of an explanation than she gave but mine was more than a trace it was like plus 1 or something! I was worrying it might be gestational diabeties but that was not mentioned so maybe I am panicking for no reason! Really hope my own midwife is back next time. She hurt her back so who knows??

MrsMigginslovespies · 17/05/2012 10:23

Hello everyone from yet another wet and cold day from the Scottish Borders.

So sad to hear about your cat Marmite. Hope you and your DH are bearing up but it's completely devastating.

Susie, in the meantime before you speak to someone, try natural plain yoghurt to soothe it. Sounds like thrush to me, esp as pregnant ladies are prone to it. I've had it twice, both times after extensive antibiotics post surgery etc and it's not much fun. But Canestan/Omeprazole clears it up super-fast.

Just made pancakes with lemon curd for breakfast and finally feel I can face the day. Had shocking sleep last night, so tired and meh again today. Would like to paint bookshelves but not sure I can be bothered. Will see later.

Dog is clamouring to go out (in the rain) so off to see to her.

Hope you're ok today Poppy. Sending nice thoughts and biscuits to you. x

MrsMigginslovespies · 17/05/2012 10:23

Meant to say, had my second Ebay triumph last night with some helpful tips from DH and got a really great Baby Bjorn active carrier for a really good price. Was so excited when we won it!

ishopthereforeiam · 17/05/2012 10:38

Well done on the babybjorn mrsm! I bought one for dd but didn't try and use it until too late so will try and get my use out of it for ds to be!

Panpipe - don't get me started on the Olympics! Am so fed up with all (bah humbug) i posted a AIBU thread a few days ago... dreading trying to get into London for my c/section the day of the opening ceremony!

Poppy - massive hugs. Can't imagine how awful it is being stuck in hospital, at least you and baby are doing well. Estate agents and mortgage people are evilllll. I totally feel your pain. My fear is being gazumped as it all seems to be taking so damn long... then we are stuck in olympic central and will have no space for the new baby!!

marmite really sorry to hear about your cat, hope you are as ok as you can be.

Cpngrats purple on yet another boy on our August thread! Def seems to be a lot of testosterone on its way! I'm getting the 3d / 4d scan next week. I booked a deal on groupon as you can get them slightly cheaper...

Ok all, loving and leaving you . Off for lunch and Louboutins! Ok I'm not actually gonna buy them - super expensive and saving all the pennies for mortgage! But will try some on Wink.

PoppyS34wantssleep · 17/05/2012 13:09

faint thinking of you a lot, hopefully little one will have just done what bump did and turned inwards and curled up so couldn't feel anything. Sending you hugs and best wishes, let us know how you get on. Really sorry to hear about your dp's dad, too :( x x x

alisonmcg · 17/05/2012 13:12

Thinking of you faint and hope everything turns out to be okay Thanks

Positive thoughts from me too Faint. Hope you're all ok. Thanks

NeedlesCuties · 17/05/2012 14:20

Sending hugs to faint and also to anyone else who would just like a hug.

It has been raining all day here in Belfast. Both myself, DS and the cat have been looking out of the window glumly. One of those 'meh' days.

I could take no more Cbeebies so I got myself and DS dressed and ready to get out. Went for a drive, listening to DS's new nursery rhyme CD. He was dancing, clapping his hands and 'singing' along happily.... until he decided he wanted to hold the CD. I gave him one of my other CD's which wasn't good enough for him, he whined and moaned till I got his CD out of the player. "Wow mummy" he says for about 2 seconds then he starts moaning as there is no more music. Cue me pulling over to the side of the road trying to explain to a 2.3 year old about how CDs work. Confused Hmm I assuming there is so toddler logic in it, but in the end I decided to take him to the local library to read some books. Had a great hour there then home lunch and naptime, yay!

It's still raining, DC2 is dancing a jig in my belly and DS has now woken up ready for more fun and teaching mummy some toddler logic :)
