Wow welsh that's very cool about your brother!

Ham crap news about your viewing and hope someone suitable comes along very soon for you

Well, visit went fine in the end. Arrived at 1130, left at 1715. Lots of talking, showing round school and village, looking at wedding album etc etc. And cake with lemon curd was yum if I do say so. Am now knackered and ready for bed!

Hope you've all got nice weekends planned and the weather picks up. x

The3Bears · 11/05/2012 18:42

marmite if you meant my 4d scan photos, yes we had them done at babybond, they were very good :) it was £140 for growth report, 10 b+w photos and 1 colour photo and dvd we also got the usb with all the photos on which was £15 extra, was expensive but so worth it Grin

Welcome lexie and gwen :)

Thanks alison Grin going to order one of those soon, there fab for keeping babies entertained.

hamncheese Your cats are gorgeous :) hope you manage to sell flat soon.

Had a horrible day today baby has felt really low and i've had funny tightenings all day, he's hardly been moving aswell told my sister and she worried me by saying go straight to hospital, but I can feel him just not as strong so I just think he's in a funny position. Anyway just had a rocket ice lolly with ds to see if it would make him move and sure enough he kicked straight away Grin so feeling alot better about that. The skip hop treetop babygym arrived today and it's so cute, thinking of ordering some Aden + Anais swaddling muslins as saw someone mention them on another thread and they have great reviews Grin need to stop shopping Blush

Hope everyone is having a good friday night I think were going to watch a dvd and have some nachos, may aswell make the most of the quiet nights now while we can :)

The3Bears · 11/05/2012 18:45

Mrsmiggins glad your visit went well, now you can go and relax :)

so Envy welsh wish I could go on a babymoon fed up of this terrible weather. Hope you have a great time and make the most of it :)

ishopthereforeiam · 11/05/2012 21:23

welsh that's amazing! He's a very talented artist, loved his work! Also tres impressed you've braved the pool, I didn't go in past my calves in morocco!

poppy you reminded me that I went to greaaat lengths to paint my toes the day before dd was born, only to have them all covered with those flight sock type things in labour too. At least it helps perk you up a bit tho?

Got my highlights done and lovely blow-dry today makes me feel a million times better!

Hello everyone, back after a few days and glad to see that everyone is keeping well. poppy glad you are back home ok and the baby is where it should be until 36 weeks complete.

cat ladies I wish you all good luck with your cats. I am an animal person, have a cat (pregnant) and a couple of hens that are hatching their eggs soon. So total of 3 pregnancies in this house. I also have 2 baby lambs. They are the cutest animals ever.

I have been away from my computer off to rural Afghanistan. I went on a helicopter which as amazing but it flew like it was in some sort of bloody action film on the way back - really low and taking really sharp turns around and into valleys. I was hyperventilating. It wasn't dangerous spoke with the doctor before I went.

I have been getting odd pains in the bump which are killing me. One is when what I suppose is the uterus gets really really hard and aches. Another is when there is a shooting pain originating from around the belly button into the ahemmm fanjo! Are these normal? Oh and sometimes it feels like the lo is scratching me from inside. really really hurts.

Oh and this morning I have been wondering when do stretch marks appear? I am 28 weeks today and want to be prepared for them.

ishopthereforeiam · 12/05/2012 04:18

Hi war zone I had stabbing pains down there with the first pg, similar to what you're describing I think? It was called lightening and all normal I guess.

Re the stretch marks I think it depends from person to person. Didn't get any with pg1 and none yet... But recall reading a previous post where someone mentioned they only got them the day after their dc was due!

Whereabouts in rural Afghanistan? I was near the pak / afghan border in the swat valley q a few years ago, there was a lake called saiful malook which was beautiful.

Haven't got a clue about your questions. sorry. just thought there might be someone else with insomnia but am guessing you are simply in another timezone.

ishopthereforeiam · 12/05/2012 04:42

I'm here with insomnia geekette waves hello, yawn...

geekette · 12/05/2012 04:49

ha ha, this is funny. we could do a thread dance to keep ourselves entertained.

warzonemummy · 12/05/2012 05:06

I was in central Afghanistan in Bamyan. It was where the giant Budha statues were blown up by the Taliban. I just put up the pictures on Facebook (www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.739895466761.2181916.37008602&type=1&l=92c13251d9) if you want to check.

I was in Pakistan in 2008 ishop.

Wish there was a rule re stretch marks that they either showed by week 25 or never. :(

PoppyS34wantssleep · 12/05/2012 05:34

Morning ladies waves

not so much insomnia here as another bleed :( bah! Just as well I'm used to this now. Still, I'm sure another stop in hospital is pending. Double bah! Felt some pain last night when I was trying to get to sleep in my left hand side, thought it was LO poking something, but maybe that's caused this episode?. Who knows!

Warzone helicopter ride sounds fab :) although it sounds scary!when are you due back in the UK? (I can't remember!!)

geekette my DP is also snoring away! While LO wriggles away :)

PoppyS34wantssleep · 12/05/2012 05:34

Morning ishop :o

warzonemummy · 12/05/2012 05:38

poppy hang in there. Hope all goes well. Are you going to the hospital? I am back middle of June when I am in my week 33. sending you and the bump loads of energy.

PoppyS34wantssleep · 12/05/2012 05:45

Yes, will give them a call shortly and get my DP to take me over. Sigh! Just hope they don't keep me in for 8 weeks!! I 28wks today, so LO needs to stop inside and brew a while longer :o

are you looking forward to coming back? Are you all prepared for bump, or will you do that when you're back here? :)

PoppyS34wantssleep · 12/05/2012 05:59

welsh that's amazing about your bro, excellent work! Hope the sun is shining, please can you bring some back here?? :) x where in mallorca did you go?

NeedlesCuties · 12/05/2012 06:20

Good morning ladies! Woke up like a lark at 6am busting to go pee and bump was dancing a jig in my belly. Just decided to give up and head downstairs and stay there. DS and DH still blissfully asleep for another hour or so.

Poppy sending you hugs! Hope you, LO and your DP are okay. Not sure if this is any comfort, but my mum went into labour with my DB (her 3rd child) at 28 weeks following an infection. Hospital kept her in till 33 weeks and managed to hold off the labour progressing with drugs. DB was born at that stage, a bit small but healthy. Is now a 6ft 2in, 20 yr old gym freak, the picture of health :) Not saying that you're going into labour now, just saying that it really does take all sorts of experiences to make the world go round.

Welsh I am v impressed with your bro being that artist. I really liked that episode with the artists, in fact, just generally love The Apprentice :) Sadly there is no one famous in my family.

Going out today with DH & DS to visit friends for lunch. They're a couple, the most lovely people ever, but they've been suffering infertility for 2+ years, despite being in their 20s. They love seeing our DS and us, but I always feel a bit sad for them, can see their longing :( They really would be fab parents if they could be.

That is the longest post from me in a long while Blush must be cuz I'm up so early! Greetings to everyone else I haven't mentioned by name.

(25+1)

PoppyS34wantssleep · 12/05/2012 06:26

Morning needles thanks for the story, that's really reassuring. I've just been reading the Bliss message boards for comfort. Fingers crossed he can stop inside a bit longer, but always good to be prepared! :)

Enjoy lunch!

alisonmcg · 12/05/2012 08:38

A lot of early morning messages today! My DP is at work today which is annoying because I always seem to wake up when he does then I can't get back to sleep!

poppy hope everything goes okay today and that they don't want to keep you in for the next 8 weeks!

warzone I sometimes get random pains that used to worry me but have decided that as long as I can keep feeling the baby moved then I'm not going to worry otherwise I'm constantly stressed!

Have a great Saturday everyone! Grin

MrsMigginslovespies · 12/05/2012 10:52

Morning all. Unlike you lot, actually was able to sleep till 9 today! Amazing! But I've noticed for the last couple of weeks that I need the loo at EXACTLY the same time each morning. 0620 on the nose. V odd.

Waves at WarzoneMummy! Glad all ok with you. I've got a couple of friends working in the UK embassy in Kabul at the mo, so wonder if you know each other?! I've always wanted to go out there, but suspect never will. Was so sad when the statues were blown up, as they were amazing. Re your pains. I get those a lot too, esp at moment. I think mine are scar tissues not stretching as well as normal tissue, plus other stuff too, so it is sore. And also get it inside too which feels er, odd! I'm assuming all ok, as LO is kicking away today.

Am sure everything will be fine Poppy as you're being well looked after and care today is wonderful. Nagging remember to take things slowly Wink

Now, has anyone seen this article on BBC yet? www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18032390

What do y'all think?

Sunny and nice here for once. Have a lovely day. x

MrsMigginslovespies · 12/05/2012 10:53

Ha, discussion of the day beat me by a few minutes with the Time article!

PoppyS34wantssleep · 12/05/2012 11:38

Thanks MrsM I have been resting up, which is why I am so annoyed about this latest episode! :( hopefully they'll just check me over and send me on my way :)

will have a read of that story to keep me occupied in triage :o

MrsMigginslovespies · 12/05/2012 12:14

Poppy I KNOW how dull it is being told to rest up when you want to crack on...! Am feeling for you and hope you get stronger v soon. I wasn't really nagging btw Wink.

hamncheese · 12/05/2012 15:13

Ahh no not again poppy! But good that you are calm. So annoying that you rest up and it happens again grrr! Yet people do ridiculous things and are fine. Hopefully it is nothing related to the baby itself and will be over again soon! Keep on cooking :)

3bears good to hear the wee one was just being sneaky, not kicking until getting an ice lolly!

Sympathy to both of you ishop and geekette with the insomnia. I've no idea how you stay so calm I get really irate about not sleeping which undoubtedly makes it worse ha!

That's a shame for your friends needles. I always assumed the worst when we started to try and then felt so lucky but also guilty for all the others who had trouble conceiving when we got pregnant on the second month. I feel awful when people have to go through all the treatments etc, it's not fair that it's so easy for some and not for others.

Glad the in-law visit went well miggins, just read that article and to be honest that picture creeps me right out. I'm sure I should be more accepting and inclusive but it makes me shudder, especially the expression on the boys face. I know it's a provocative picture but still. I was in New York on holiday a few years back and saw a mother in that famous toy shop breast feeding what looked like a 4/5 year old child. She was on a bench sitting and the child was laying on the bench/her lap. I don't know, maybe it's an assumption but I'd venture to say there must be some odd psychological implications? Hmm, not only that, would it not be a hell of a strain on the mother? Maybe someone will elighten me with the alternative view but all I can think is ARGH NO!

Just watching the qualifying for the F1 now, chilling with DH and the moggers...

PoppyS34wantssleep · 12/05/2012 15:51

Admitted back into ward. Baby doing ok so far, fingers crossed for a short stay please :)

MrsM no probs :o

ham I'm not sure what to make about that story either, that picture just makes it seem wrong.
