Thinking of you Poppy. Fingers crossed bump stays put and they let you out of hospital soon.

Re: tiredness - I've definitely noticed a difference this past week. Nothing like pre-16 week tiredness but mid-afternoon naps becoming more of a regular thing. Am wondering if it is due to baby growth spurt - I read somewhere they double in weight between 23 and 27 weeks!

Have a fab bank holiday weekend everyone. We're going to order our pram, car seat and Stokke items (Tripp Trapp & baby carrier) this morning. First pregnancy purchases for me!

Westcountrylovescheese · 05/05/2012 08:57

Thinking of you and Bump, Poppy. Hope everything is ok...

I am definitely getting more tired, seems to hit at four/five in the afternoon and I can't do anything but sit down and relax. Yuck.

Have been delivered all the hand me downs from sisters today, there is so so much! Looks like we need to get our fingers out and start to actually get things sorted. Eek. It's starting to feel real....

geekette · 05/05/2012 09:33

Poppy! Positive! Thoughts! Coming! Your! Way! :)

Glad bump is sticking around for a bit longer.

We went to the cinema yesterday to see Avengers. Ace movie. There is a scene with lots of gun fire and loud punches and kicks. BumpBulge went berserk with the kicking :D I found that just too funny.

MrsMigginslovespies · 05/05/2012 12:44

Sooo true about the tiredness, esp by late afternoon. I was commenting on it again the other day (DH has had me tired now for a long time, it seems!) so I'm glad it makes sense! I do feel like I'm growing much faster now the bump has finally make its appearance a month ago.

We're just hanging about today. It actually snowed a bit this morning!!! So, chilling out at home today watching stuff on iplayer and tv for the first weekend off in 6 weeks that hasn't had visitors/events/etc etc on. Tis lovely. Tomorrow, off to Jack and Jill market then swimming and maybe afternoon tea out. I can finally wear my new swimsuit!

Have a lovely bank holiday.

susiegrapevine · 05/05/2012 13:05

Hey fingers crossed poppy for bump to stay put. Don't worry panpipe I have loads of teddies from my childhood and some from recently bought for me by dh! Most are looking down at me from the top of my wardrobe but others I let ds play with.

I don't think I've stopped feel tired tbh. Can't wait for ds to go to nursery in june for 1 afternoon then I can start sorting stuff out for the new baby and get some proper nap time in lol!

PoppyS34wantssleep · 05/05/2012 14:06

Thanks for the continued wishes. Still here, major bleeding has stopped, but still spotting. Bah!

Now banned from: lifting anything, dtd and going any faster than a walking pace, and no straining Blush. :(

Fingers crossed it all settles down again soon. :)

I don't think I ever stopped feeling tired :o just moved the goal posts so that constantly shattered is now considered normal!

MrsM it's snowed? Blimey, isn't it meant to be spring bank hols?? Madness!.:)

MrsMigginslovespies · 05/05/2012 17:15

Glad you're doing ok-ish, Poppy but sorry that you're still in hospital, but at least being monitored.

Yup, snowed for a few minutes and couldn't believe it! Sunny and nice (if cold) now though. Just had huge piece of choccy cake with a cuppa. Lovely. Am sending some your way Wink

justine09x · 05/05/2012 17:48

Good Afternoon everybody :o,
I just wondered if I could be put on your list I did join when we all first found out we were expecting but i've been left off the list lol Sad,

Im nice and easy just stick me on the end i'm 25 its Dc3 a girl due 31st august. Thanku muchly :)

Ive look back on some of the posts from u all and its amazing to see what everyone is doing, some of u organised, some not so, some moving houses etc amazing that we are all so busy doing and organising yet come August we will have a new LO to add into the mix eeek sooo scary but totally worth it.

Ive read the posts on the baby shopping and ashamed to say i'm an baby shopping addict, wish I could say that im really organised and kept everything from last time.......but im being a bit of a nightmare evrything is soo cute and I just cant help myself. Went to put order pram the other day and hubby nearly had a heart attack and said he could buy a second hand car for that price.................obviously he is immune to the Icandy spell that i'm under but he was reminded by the salesman that if he didnt get what I want he would be dragged back in a couple of weeks to buy the Icandy so he should just swallow it and do it now. Great salesman I loved him lol.

Glad to see everyone is doing well and im not the only one feeling tired and huge (definately not anything to do with my obsession with Munchies!)

xxxxxx

Glad things are okayish poppy and you are being looked after.

Welcome justine :)

That's weird miggins I was swimming AND at jack and jill like you today haha! Swimming was fun but felt really odd with bump haha!

For info of the Scotlandish among us the jack and jill market was brilliant, managed to get a lovely play mat for £5; birthing ball for £5; babybjorn carrier for £10 rrp around £60 I think!; and most importantly a mamas and papas cot mobile for £5 which I needed for the frame (which spins and makes music) as I have been busily knitting my own mobile for the baby. Just finished it and it really is the best thing I have EVER made. Here are some pictures to share:

29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3kcpjH1wL1qcjh8ho1_1280.jpg

25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3kcpjH1wL1qcjh8ho3_1280.jpg

Generally though if you find a nearly new kids stuff sale like the jack and jill one it's well worth it, they had all sorts of stuff like moses baskets for £10, sterilisers for £4 and anything you really want for a lot less. Really nice folks hosting the stalls too which made a difference knowing it came from a decent place!

Anyway things are all fine with me generally. Kind of sad though. DH bought me a bracelet when for our first valentines in 2006 which I wore every single day til late last year when I lost it, must have fell off. I was devastated as it meant so much. Then on our "other" anniversary (22 dec, when we started going out) just past DH got me a replacement one from the same jeweller with a plate with the date on it and everything it was so special, especially as I was dying of MS at the point and had totally forgotten it was our other anniversary etc etc. So I took to wearing it every day again, until today when I put it back on after swimming then realised when taking my other jewellery off at home several hours later it was gone. Couldn't believe it had happened again, devastated again, makes me think what have I done that's so bad that I keep losing my most sentimental items. Couldn't have been a scarf or something could it? ANYWAY, blah blah that sucked but it's still been a good day. Bump is happily kicking away as usual.

Hope you all have a great weekend and bank holiday Grin

26 weeks today!

PoppyS34wantssleep · 05/05/2012 20:47

That mobile is amazing, I love it :o my lovely friend came to visit today, and taught me how to crochet. So I'm just starting a blanket for Bump. Really pleased with my efforts so far, considering I only learnt an hour or so ago! :)

PoppyS34wantssleep · 05/05/2012 20:47

Sorry about your bracelet though :(

tashaw28 · 05/05/2012 21:35

poppy how scary for you, but at least you're in the best place, hope it stops soon.
I am still having awful shoulder cramps :( such agony, but on the bright side have a proper bump now and love sticking it out and rubbing it! Am feeling very aware that this is my last pregnancy, unless Dh changes his mind and lets me go for 4!
Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend!

panpipe · 05/05/2012 23:07

You keep crocheting to keep yourself occupied Poppy!

Ham that's a gorgeous mobile Smile

And welcome (back!) Justine from a fellow iCandy fan! Our Strawberry is scheduled to arrive in the shop in July so fingers crossed it arrives before baby!

Just keeping myself occupied on the train home from work. Completely shattered; it's been a long day and got an early start tomorrow to head home for my cousin's party. DH has been out all day at the rugby so hope he'll be up for the drive in the morning!

PoppyS34wantssleep · 06/05/2012 08:08

Does anyone's bump keep getting hiccups? Like a weird regular pulse you can feel with hand on bump? I :o

keep getting them alot, can only assume hiccups. Keep forgetting to ask MWs.

NeedlesCuties · 06/05/2012 08:24

tashaw this will also (most likely!) be my last pregnancy too. Prior to getting pregnant this time I always wanted 3 kids as I saw that as 'normal' - both DH and I have 2 siblings, so to me that is what the average family has.

But I've been so sick this pregnancy, was sick 2 days ago again and now with the diagnosis of Group B Strep I just don't want to go through all this again! Also, our house is really only big enough for 2 kids or the maximum of 3... hmmm, decisions decisions...

poppy I've never felt this baby hiccup! Funny thing is that I never felt DS hiccup when he was in the womb either and when he was a baby he very rarely had the hiccups :) Am sure it feels funny though!

Vinolover · 06/05/2012 09:35

I noticed that my baby had hiccups this morning Poppy. It's so cute :)

This is my last pregnancy too tashaw so I'm really trying to make the most of it but at the same time I'm wishing august will hurry up and get here so I can meet him. Im sorry your shoulder is still playing you up :( has the dr given you anything for it?

When is everybody getting their pushchair? I've told the shop I would like to collect at the end of July but I'm not sure if I should wait but I also desperatly want it like NOW so I can play with it. I'm not sure where I will store it until he arrives though.

MrsMigginslovespies · 06/05/2012 17:07

Hello all,

Nice weekends? Still cold here. DH and I have been v busy today. Like Ham said, Jack and Jill market was fab! Got loads of great stuff including lovely almost new babygym from Fisher Price for £18 and some great clothes. Spent around £55 in total, including entrance which is great. Next time, we'll go earlier, but still got a car mirror thing to see in the back, babygym, clothes (some with tags still on), some gorgeous brand new soft rattles to go on baby's wrists and feet (super cute), and a couple of maternity tops for moi. And a tiny baby gingham sunhat for £1! It's also inspired us to get selling one day should we decide to! We then went swimming. So wierd getting out, as suddenly felt REALLY heavy lumbering out of the pool like a spotty hippo in my Boden number.

I've not felt any hiccups Envy. Suspect stupid placenta getting in the way of all the fun as usual.

Ham, love your mobile, it gorgeous. And Vino, not sure when we'll get ours, but we've NOOOOO space at the mo or it, so think it'll be later rather than earlier for us. But I can't wait to pick up.

Sorry, long rambly post. Last one of Homeland tonight. Boooo. But roast beef and M&S cheesecakes for supper so not all bad! Enjoy your evenings ladies. xx

PoppyS34wantssleep · 06/05/2012 17:51

Discharged this afternoon - yay!! :o On bed rest again, but at home. I'm so shattered, hospitals really aren't the most relaxing of places. Although the one I'm in is fantastic, really been looked after again.

Got to have a growth scan to check if any ill affects on Bump after most recent bout of bleeding, as it was a biggy :( fingers crossed not though.

Welcome justine, and thanks Needles for keeping such a fab list up to date.

Not sorted our pram out yet, decided against the iCandy Cheery as my friend has one and said she wouldn't buy it now because you have to take the seat off to fold it, which is a pain in the ass apparently..! So no looking at the UppaBaby Vista or the Mamas & Papas Sola I think. Not bought it yet though, in fact, not really bought anything except a cute winnie the pooh outfit from Ebay for 99p :-)

I always said I'd like at least 2 children, but will have to see how the rest of this pregnancy pans out before making a decision. I don't seem to be very good with baby-brewing lark, it's not as easy as some people make it look :o

MrsMigginslovespies · 06/05/2012 18:14

Welcome home Poppy. So good that you're back at home for some proper R&R. As my Mum would say, take it easy!! Thanks

Have just been pottering online looking at nursery stuff and have come across this lovely site:

www.themodernbaby.co.uk/default.asp

Tis v good and a bit unusual for ideas.

Lovemarmite · 06/05/2012 18:36

Glad you're home Poppy and hope all's well with you and bump.

Thanks for the website MrsMiggins
Great mobile ham

Finger is still not fixed and went to neals yard and picked up some natural stuff before resorting to the antibiotics that the nurse gave me on Friday. Crickey I can't believe my immune system is this low if it can't heal a cut.

Getting a few hiccups too and also kicking seems stronger sometimes which makes me have to shift position and hope LO can stop being so brutal with my insides!

Quick question: I should have an Anti-D shot to book in soon and so just wondering if anyone else is having to go for one?
I've managed to get DH booked in next Monday for a blood type test (took the nurse on Friday to agree as no one else would do it) and so hoping he's rh+ too so no shot needed, but has anyone refused the shot?

Loislane78 · 06/05/2012 18:49

Own bed at last poppy, get some R&R :)

justine09x · 06/05/2012 18:50

Ahh another Icandy fan, nice to meet u panpipe, I had the apple with my son two years ago and loved it but like u im obsessing worried about it arriving on time im due end of august so i hope it will be here :)

Great advice on the bargains, hamncheese I thought i'd share my bargain hunting even though its probably been mentioned on a previous thread, But I am loving the facebook local swap or sell groups. Theyhave some fantastic bargains if you are quick enough to catch them. I got a nearly new beautiful pine crib for our room for £15 and the lady even delivered it :) i see all sorts on there lovely prams and toys etc. Just thought i'd share :)

vinovler you have more patience than me! If the Icandy was in stock I would of demanded to take it home there and then lol I would want to play with it too xxx

Vinolover · 06/05/2012 19:42

Welcome home poppy. You really must feel so much better being home in your own bed and surroundings etc. When are you due to have your growth scan? Do they know where the bleeding is coming from?

justine I am literally salivating at the thought of getting my pram. It's the icandy apple and I can not wait! What is it with us women and prams? Lol.

justine09x · 06/05/2012 22:18

ooooohh I had the Icandy Apple with my son and loved it!! get it get it get it!! lol yes i'm a pramaholic wonder if there is meetings for people like us Hmm

and lovemarmite I dont know anything about the shot and its my third baby?! how bad does that sound? do only certain people have to have it? if they say u need it I would have it xx
