Oh yes panpipe not sad at all, we've got quite a few soft toys we call them 'the boys' and share your thoughts MrsMiggins, DH has said that we'll have to put them up high when LO comes... I think he's joking as he's said that I'm sure they'll prefer to have tea parties with a little girl than having their heads ripped off by a little boy (so stereotypical!!) but I think a few will be on a top shelf or out of the way as LO will have their own, I am sure!
Some are not to be shared, sucked etc! Oh dear, does sound crazy Grin

Off to see a nurse later today as I've managed to get an infection in my finger. It's all throbbing, red and hot and so hope I don't need antibiotics but just a lance and a tell off as I think it happened when I tore a little bit of the skin off whilst being anxious a few days ago... ah, will never do it again!

I was recommended the Neals yard mothers balm for stretch marks, although I hear if you're going to get them, you're going to get them, but so far, it seems very good.

MrsMigginslovespies · 04/05/2012 12:16

Oh no Poppy, hope you're ok. Keep in touch and let us know.

Love have waved at you from this thread!:

Seriously informative and great info for a novice like me!

MrsMigginslovespies · 04/05/2012 12:17

PS, sorry, Neal's Yard nappy barrier cream is also apparently amazing according to my cousin of twin boys. Not a single rash ever and a tub lasts AGES as it's quite thick and waxy. Kind aunt gifted me a tub, so it's now in stock too!

The3Bears · 04/05/2012 13:28

Oh no ,Hope you and bump are okay poppy will keep my fingers crossed for you both x

vino Thats good to know as I thought they might just get worse. Will still moisturise just to be sure though :)

alisonmcg · 04/05/2012 15:14

Hope everything goes okay poppy and that you get home soon Thanks

Vinolover · 04/05/2012 15:26

Oh no Poppy :( Big, big hugs to you and really hoping everything is ok and you and bump can come home soon! Thanks X

MrsLister · 04/05/2012 16:03

Thinking of you Poppy xx

warzonemummy · 04/05/2012 16:43

Brew and Thanks Poppy let us know how you are doing.

I have had very bad pain in both legs and arms, not cramps just pain like I have been hit with a thick stick repeatedly. I have had hot showers and paracetamol but not much change.

missjemima · 04/05/2012 18:28

Hope all is well Poppy xx

Lovemarmite · 04/05/2012 19:24

Sending you a big hug with some Thanks Poppy, let us know how you're doing x

Loislane78 · 04/05/2012 19:26

Hope you and LO are ok poppy Thanks

Loislane78 · 04/05/2012 19:30

About the leg cramps, pg symptom but also make sure you're getting enough salt. Obviously too much is bad but with all the extra water we're drinking and probably (maybe?) trying to be a bit healthy, leg cramps can be a common side effect of low sodium.

Hope that helps or it stops by another means!

ffscatmove · 04/05/2012 20:08

Sending positive thoughts your way Poppy hope everything is ok xx

Vinolover · 04/05/2012 20:48

Lois that's really interesting you say that about salt because I have been craving salty things and I haven't suffered leg cramps this pregnancy.

pintofmilk · 04/05/2012 20:55

Poppy sending positive thoughts your way. Hope they are looking after you and bump.

Marmite Hope the finger gets fixed soon-sounds painful.

Panpipe now I don't feel so bad about my 2 teddies I have in the draw under my bed, oh and my old cot blanket Blush

PoppyS34wantssleep · 04/05/2012 20:56

Thanks ladies, very lovely to read all your messages. Bump is staying put for the mo, but am on a course of antibiotics to prepare lungs as a 'routine precaution'

being constantly monitored and impressed with my hospital bag packing, even remembered the polos :o

Boo to all the cramping, but second the advice about salt levels.

Hope cats and dogs (and poorly finger marmite) are all on mend soon. :) xx

PoppyS34wantssleep · 04/05/2012 20:57

Also glad you found your teddies panpipe :o

pintofmilk · 04/05/2012 20:59

Anyone else been feeling tierd again in the afternoon/evenings?

I have started feeling knackered about 4 o'clock in the afternoon and could quite happily go to bed and stay there all night. Wish I could but with 2 other kids to feed, take to clubs and do homework etc it's never going to happen.

Leg cramps still continue, been drinking loads of water, eating bananas but still they come, hey ho.

Looking forward to 3 days off! Yipee
24+5

NeedlesCuties · 04/05/2012 21:07

Sending Brew to Poppy.

Thanks for the suggestion re salt being needed to ward off cramps. I will strive to call into the shop tomorrow for large bags of salted crisps Grin Medicinal, of course!

pint yes I am knackered too. I think I said upthread that DS (aged 2.3) has given up his afternoon nap and this is killing me. When he was asleep during the day it was my time to put my feet up or get on with housework. Argh! On the plus side, he does go to bed an hour earlier in the evenings....

Anyway, I am tired, so think I will head to bed now myself. DH is working till midnight so I have the bed all to myself for a few hours, woohoo!

(24 weeks)

Loislane78 · 04/05/2012 21:08

Try eating some olives pintofmilk if you like them (they're more natural salt or packet of Walkers does me!). Bananas are full of potassium but hardly any sodium so if you're drinking lots of water that may make cramping worse

woopsidaisy · 04/05/2012 21:10

Glad bump has decided to stay put Poppy.
If I had to go to hospital now, I would be taking a plastic bag with a toothbrush and a packet of Pampers wipes!Grin

Note to self, get flipping organised!

I have felt very drained this week, and will own up to one or two moments of drooling on the sofa!

Had vicious leg cramps this morning, and my right calf has been so sore ever since! Think DH is still recovering from my shrieking!

pintofmilk · 04/05/2012 21:14

Lois thanks for the tip. They are not my favourite, but to be honest, I will try anything that may stop me from uniterrupted sleep.

Needles poor you, I think it is one big conspiracy in an attempt to prepare us for August, not that we need any preparation, we know what lies ahead.......
eeeek

Right I'm off for a shower and an early night!

panpipe · 04/05/2012 21:34

That's good news Poppy, glad you and bump are being looked after.

What has everyone got planned for the weekend? I'm going to the Harry Potter studio tour tomorrow, exciting! Then my cousin's 18th birthday party on Sun where I get to model my first (and only) maternity dress! Also seeing DH tonight who's been working away all week.

ffscatmove · 04/05/2012 21:36

Glad all's ok for the moment Poppy, hang on in there bump!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one starting to get tired again Needles & Pint. I have been falling asleep on the sofa whilst waiting for DH to finish work so we can have our dinner! I may have to invest in some M&S or Waitrose 'pierce film & place on oven' meals until I have time to batch cook!
Talking of which, now I've finally had my dinner I think I might have to go to bed.
Night ladies!
