lovemarmite I have the anti-d shot coming up in a couple of weeks at my midwife appt. Had them last time at 28wks and after delivery, I think. Thought the risk of not having and developing antibodies, so problems with next pregnancy, was more of a worry than having it.

poppy glad you're okay, and hi to everyone else!

hamncheese · 07/05/2012 08:11

Thanks for the mobile love people Grin

Glad to hear you are home poppy and back to your own bed!

Did anyone else see that story on BBC breakfast about the woman was was getting abuse from strangers as she was running when pregnant? Google "you selfish cow pregnant running" and you'll see it. Can't believe people sometimes. I HATE how pregnant woman somehow come to belong to society on account of their making a new person. I'm so fed up of people questioning my levels of exercise during pregnancy and all I've been doing is a lot of walking; can only imagine how irate this woman must be. And people wonder why women often gain too much weight during pregnancy? Oh and if one more person tells me I should be doing yoga... arghhhh!!!

Oh well, off to IKEA. May SPRINT around the entire shop and lift some heavy items in the warehouse bit ha Wink

ffscatmove · 07/05/2012 09:04

Yay Poppy glad you're home hope you're installed in the most comfy chair with your feet up & a Brew & a Biscuit to hand!
Ham will have to look at that - when I kept running early on my mother was very disparaging (DH was very good though). Would have loved to keep going but had to have a cervical scan to make sure it was competent after prev. surgery so didn't want to risk it until that! I now just walk to work every day - it's only just 2 miles each way & some friends keep asking why I don't drive now! Madness. Have managed to get DH to put the cross trainer together in the nursery on the basis that the cot bed won't be in there for several months so plan on doing some gentle pedalling on that from now on!
Right, off to make a cake for lovely friend who is loaning us Moses basket, crib & travel system Grin which I am picking up today Grin Grin!

MrsMigginslovespies · 07/05/2012 09:19

I was never running much anyway, but have been trying to do lots of walking when I feel up to it. But do get puffed! Good point too about all the weight gain some women put on.

Today, it's a 100 days till my due date! Eeek!

I have mother in law and grandmother in law coming to visit either tomorrow or Wednesday FOR THE WOLE DAY! AND DH IS AT WORK ALL DAY SO WON'T SEE THEM AT ALL, SO IT'S JUST ME!!!! AGHHHH! How horrendous. Am dreading it all. Actually, could really do without it, esp as we're seeing them again for another royal visit on Saturday, but c'est la vie (hey, new French President, eh?!).

Anyhoo, off to continue sterilising the house.... Happy Monday everyone, and Poppy, hope you had a good first night back in your own bed. x

Lovemarmite · 07/05/2012 11:31

Running?
Wow I'm in awe! I have round ligament pain that's actually making me have to rest after 10 mins of walking. I thought it was just LO being heavy on me but it's the ligaments and stretching and so hope it will disappear when I've stretched some more. Yikes, I also get so exhausted too, and no energy again!

justine your blood group is probably rh+ (i.e. A+, AO+ etc) and so don't need the shot whereas if you're rh- (A-, AO-) you'd be recommended to the have the shot. It's seems to be quite uncommon to be rh- and so if your partner is rh+ you need the shot as otherwise you'd make antibodies against the baby's blood and can cause problems for the LO. However, if the father is also rh-, then all is fine and no shot needed. OK that probably made no sense?!
There's some small risks with it as some people can be allergic to it and seeing I've got allergies to many things, I really would love to avoid if possible and so DH has a blood group test next week (just hope it's not too late as the shot needs to be ordered and done then too). Sorry for the ramble!

Pram, car seat etc - coming mid- July... that's not long to wait now, wow! Shock

Hope everyone is having a good Bank holiday monday

Lovemarmite · 07/05/2012 11:32

Good luck MrsMiggins for your visits this week!
If it gets too much, could you go for a nap?! Grin

susiegrapevine · 07/05/2012 12:54

Hey. poppy glad to hear you are home.

Had a terrible night last night ds has started to get his back molars and was up half the night. Dh and I took it in turns to get up! After half 4 this morn he then slept till half 10 so at least dh and I got a much needed lie in! Ds seems better today but who knows. Think we are staying in and hiding today!

This will be my last pregnancy too as only ever wanted two children to be honest I don't think I could cope with the 1st trimester again!

Still have no car and borrowing my mum's which is causing a major headache with the parking permit for my road! Stress I don't need!!

Running I never ran before could never run and don't like! Admire all those doing it! I get a stitch at the mo if I walk too fast!! Still rushing around after a toddler is keeping me fit enough!!

The other day my mum said to me should you be lifting ds! My response was did you lift me when you were preg with my sis of course she said yes!! And that coversation was over in fact she prob lifted me more cos there is only 17 months between me and sis! Mum"s are silly sometimes and forget what they used to do! I'm not an invalid I'm pregnant!

woopsidaisy · 08/05/2012 07:43

Morning all!

Glad you are home Poppy.

Well, a miracle occurred in The woopsi house this weekend. We sorted out the nursery, bought new bookcases for the boys, and generally did all the tedious jobs that needed to be done for the new arrival.
Everywhere looks so much better, keep having a peep in the nursery and imagining a new little one asleep in there...can't wait!

And I ordered some stuff from John Lewis...sheets for moses basket, muslin squares, changing mat and baby bundler. I found these so handy in the first couple of weeks at night, no buttons etc. Would recommend them.

So I feel good today that I am getting organised!

Hope everyone has a good day.

MrsMigginslovespies · 08/05/2012 10:56

Ooooh, Woopsi am Envy at your organised nursery. I'm going to crack on bit more this week (MIL and GMIL) now coming coming till Friday. Found out last night at 9pm that they weren't coming today...Hmm. So after all the madness yesterday in sorting out the house, am going to chill today, eat a lot, not get stressed at DH and possibly potter a bit with some boxes again later. Might even make it outside it the weather improves.

How are you doing today Poppy?

Anyone else feeling bit low, emotional and tired at the mo? Not to mention v hungry? x

Vinolover · 08/05/2012 11:08

Well done Woopsi on being so organised! I'm very jealous because I seem to get as far as making a list and putting it down thinking I will come back to it at a later date. I have a week off work in June so I'm hoping I can organise myself properly then.

I feel a bit like that too Miggins :( I can't seem to perk myself up and I'm thinking that maybe the weather has a lot to do with it? At work last week I just burst into tears because I felt so drained and I'm really not like that usually. Actually, thinking about it, it could be low iron levels because that can make you feel down. Will find out when I have my bloods done again in a couple of weeks.
Oh and hunger!!!!! I just want comfort food and lots of it. I could cheerfully sit here and eat my body weight in chips and cake. Yummy.

PoppyS34wantssleep · 08/05/2012 11:17

Morning everyone, nice to read everyone getting prepared.

I'm doing ok thanks MrsM have been trying to rest up as much as possible, but it's a right pain in the ass not being able to do anything - no lifting, carrying, etc... etc... I know it's for the best, but the next 12 weeks are going to be loooonnng! (assuming I get as far as 12 weeks :o)

I do feel low and emotional, but I guess that's just to be expected with what's gone on over the past few days... Bah! I also feel a bit overwhelmed with being so incapacitated and with so much still to do (we still need to find somewhere to live, we really can't stop here). :( Anyway, will just have to take each day as it comes and hope things improve.

Hope you feel in a better mood soon MrsM and hope everyone had a great bank hols :)

0FrillyKnickers0 · 08/05/2012 11:57

I'm baaaaaack!

Not feeling much movement at the moment...24 weeks today and the last couple of day have been quiet in the old womb area...is this normal?!

PoppyS34wantssleep · 08/05/2012 12:03

Hey Frilly waves :) Bump went quiet on me for a few days, made the MWs in hospital worry a bit, but he's back being a fidget now, which is reassuring. I don't know what's normal, but the MWs did tell me off for not telling them about it and said they should be told about any change in pattern. hope that helps :)

geekette · 08/05/2012 12:33

Have to admit, I have a quiet bump most of the time. Some days it kicks more than others.

Went to see Avengers. It has got a scene with loads of gunfire. Bulge went beserk... normally moves when I get something cold to drink or eat too.

Have also done the crying at work.. Was because I felt I just wasn't meeting my targets... Colleagues got me and my targets sorted out asap. feeling much better now.

Also starting to get organised. loads of suits and muslin cloths and some reusable nappies as well as stuff for breast feeding and a car seat. Not much we bought our selves. The car seat and breast milk stuff is second hand... Oh and grooming and healthcare kit.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 08/05/2012 13:10

Thanks Poppy!

A midwife came out to see me at my lunch break because I was freaking out, and she listenend to the heartbeat. As it was everything was fine. She said it is very likely that baby had turned round so she was facing inwards which means you are less likely to feel kicks. She said the heartbeat was great and I have nothing to wory about! Phew!!

Vinolover · 08/05/2012 13:41

That's good Frilly. It's always nice when you have the MW reassure you. My little guy is really quite lively but there are certainly days when I barely feel him and it freaks me out! Bubs may be having a growing spurt and that could make her a bit lazy too. I had a big bowl of ice cream yesterday which seemed to wake my baby up :)

Lovemarmite · 08/05/2012 13:59

Definitely have quiet days too with not much kicking but I think I feel a bit internally on some of those days, not sure but think so?! Saw the mw this morning and she mentioned to look out for a pattern - LO waking in the evening, night etc and if there's much change, then call the hospital. She took my measurements and as she did it, the LO kicked her twice really hard which made her giggle. Couldn't find the hb straight away but then when she did it, it was apparently very strong. Yeah!

Oh yes can relate to the crying. Our little pusscat is still with us but watching him on the decline is really hard - was in floods yesterday when my sister was round as he was in a bad way.. then this morning he's perked up a bit. Aghhh this is making me cry!

On a more happy note, I order the cot bed this morning with 10% off - yippee!
But whoopsie you're way ahead of us!
We're painting the new bedroom/ nursery in a few weeks time and need to look for things like chest of drawers etc. hmm... ebay, freecycle here I come as the cot bed was a bit pricer than it could have been! Wink

MrsMigginslovespies · 08/05/2012 15:47

Bloody rural Scotland. There's ONE aqua-natal swimming class I can find in the whole of the SE. Grump. We have a nice pool 4 miles away that for some stupid reason doesn't run a class. Anyhoo, thought I'd share my rant, but it bugs me that we're encouraged to get/stay fit and yet, there's often very few resources to do that.

woopsidaisy · 08/05/2012 16:42

I should point out that this is DC3 lovemarmite. Just haven't had a baby for 5 years and had given most stuff away!
Prior to this weekend I had one babygro! Grin

Now I also have a gorgeous Oyster travel system that a friend has given me. Like new!

Not bothering with most of the stuff this time, as have learnt that most of it is not really necessary.

Sorry about your cat lovemarmite. Sad
It is horrible watching a beloved pet slip away.

We discovered our petted puss asleep on the top bunk today. DSs thought it was so funny, they can't work out how he got up there!

The3Bears · 08/05/2012 18:40

Hi everyone, Hope your all well!

MarmiteSo sorry about your cat they become such a part of the family dont they :( my cat that I had since I was 7 had to be put to sleep a few weeks ago, I cant think about her without bursting into tears :(

I know what you all mean about being emotional, I cant seem to help myself atm I cry over everything we watched beauty and the beast at cinemas, I cried. Desperate housewives, I cried all the way through. I cried today because I was talking about something sad with my sister Hmm I really wish it would stop as im a really emotional person anyway so this makes trying not to cry alot harder.

Started getting my hospital bag sorted, going into town tomorrow to start getting some things for it and then going for 4d scan Grin

Baby seems alot stronger now, when he kicks I have to jump he's having a little kickboxing session right now v funny feeling but I do love it :)

woopsidaisy · 08/05/2012 19:09

Pants.

Hadn't even considered hospital bag!

hamncheese · 08/05/2012 19:52

Miggins I'm with you and all the others who are being emotional. I'm so weepy, all I need to do is think of anything remotely downbeat and I'm crying. No, not crying, bawling. Seriously, I get dehydrated from it! I never got this in the early days but has anyone else felt like they are so up and down? One minute the world is an amazing place and I'm just so happy to be alive and the next everything sucks and I'm a total grump.

Really glad to hear you all have quiet days too... mine doesn't seem to kick too much either, just a chilled out baby I guess, which is odd seeing as I am his/her mother ha!

Marmite I really feel for you with your poor cat. Mine send purrs... I suppose at least you can give him lots of love just now and make him as happy as he can be :)

3bears Sorry to hear about your cat too, it's hard because they are like family (I actually think that my cats are a lot better friends than most of the people in the world could be!) yet it feels less acceptable to be very upset when they do go. I hope your 4d scan is amazing tomorrow though :)

Bringing this up again in a "is it just me but..." capacity. OH MY GOD the rib pain. It's bloody agony. Every time I eat anything bigger than a peanut the pain comes. After 6 if I can't be on the v-shape or in bed it's so sore. I don't think it's the baby either as it isn't just when it moves. I think as I bloat out during the day it gets worse and worse. Went for dinner there and it was a BIG meal an now I feel as though there isn't enough skin to cover me and that my ribs are breaking underneath or something argh! Just wondered if anyone else has it as I have attributed it to having a short torso, MW was surprised at 24week appointment that I was sore in the ribs so early! Only thing that helps is a hotwater bottle really!

Also, is anyone else worried about lying on their backs? I've been finding myself on my back at night a lot recently I think because on my side there is more rib pain but it worries me now because your not meant to be. Do you think it is ok if you are propped up a bit on your back? Ah why is it the only comfy position is frowned upon!! Blah.

26+3

NewRoadToHappinessxx · 08/05/2012 20:14

Hi can I join you please - I'm due on the 22nd Aug, non identical twin boys. Anyone else expecting twins?

Lovemarmite · 08/05/2012 20:27

Thanks for the lovely thoughts about our pusscat. He's got mouth cancer and the tumour is very noticeable and it's getting harder and harder for him to eat and he bleeds a lot. Luckily he did have a better day and has been chirping at me all day and has sat on my work in the sun!
Sorry to hear about your pussycat 3bears and I'll be in your shoes in a few weeks/months... tis way too hard and I've probably cried way more with my cat than I thought possible!

ham my mw today told me that lying on your back is not really a problem... maybe later on, lying on the side might be more comfortable due to the weight?

Welcome newroadtohappiness - love the name!

ffscatmove · 08/05/2012 20:29

woopsi me neither - I put the free samples in a suitable sized bag, then stuffed it in the back of the wardrobe & gave it no further thought - as I'm 27 weeks this week maybe now is the time to start thinking again!

A friend gave me some wipes for it yesterday & another gave me a brand new TENS - along with the Newborn pack from Asda parenting club that's got to be a fair bit sorted surely Hmm
Very Sad to hear about everyone's cat troubles - hope all turn out ok, or at least comfortable
