I weighed myself this morning. I've put on 16lbs Shock in 26 weeks. :( It all seems to be bump and (o)(o) though.

I keep measuring my hips, each thigh and under/over my boobs to check if anything else has expanded, but they're all the same measurments so far.

I've never been this heavy in my life, so it's pretty scary for someone who has had to watch their weight every step of the way. Takes a bit to get used too.

Westcountrylovescheese · 27/04/2012 13:29

Hi all, I've put on half a stone so far (although i did lose some at the start)... mostly boobs and bump.

Have another cold and am not happy. Sad ...TMI alert though. I am extra unhappy as I have been wetting myself just a little bit every time or cough or sneeze strongly. Luckily I'm at home today so I'm just off into the shower again, been through three pairs of pants today. This is poo.

Little one is kicking harder and is not liking being woken up by the coughing/sneezing. Need some sleep. Sad

alisonmcg · 27/04/2012 13:37

I should really get on the scales soon and see what the damage is so far! Visually I don't seem to have put on much weight apart from the bump so hoping the change isn't too drastic!

For the last couple of days whenever I've been walking for a few minutes I start getting a stitch like pain on both sides of my stomach. Baby is still kicking away etc so not too worried in that sense but just wondering if it's happening because of something I'm doing/not doing? Has anyone else had this? Hoping it's only a temporary thing and not the start of having pain everytime I'm out walking!

Hope everyone is having a good friday! :)

alisonmcg · 27/04/2012 13:41

ps I'm 22 + 6 today

Vinolover · 27/04/2012 14:10

Oh west i know where you're coming from. I dread sneezing whilst unprepared. There's just so much pressure there at the moment! You have just reminded me to do my pelvic floor again!

Did someone mention big poo? Isn't it just awful! (but very satisfying when you do go Grin). I keep having nightmares at the moment thinking when the time comes I will go into labour when I haven't been able to go to the loo and end up making an awful mess!

What a lovely day it is here today! Washing has been done and have done some serious amounts of chilling and destressing! Bliss. This has made the little man happy no end as I have had lots of great big kicks today :)
Hope everyone else is having a lovely day.

warzonemummy · 27/04/2012 14:27

Vinolover I am having a lovely day today. Here in Afghanistan it is quite warm, around 25 degrees I'd guess. I woke up late, had my cereal in the sun and walked around the garden quite a bit. Then had a lunch followed by a nap and watched a DVD box set. Now it is almost 6 and it is getting chilly so am going to attempt a walk on a treadmill in anticipation of dinner. Missing London today.

The LO kicked me loads today too. At week 20 she was in breech position, at 25 weeks she had her head to my right and legs to my left and today I think she has moved her head right under my bellybutton and her legs kicking my stomach. I hope it doesn't mean she's planning be premature because can't really deal with that here.

warzonemummy · 27/04/2012 14:30

here's the list of things I have bought so far. I am not very baby stuff literate so I have made up names of things which I hope you can decipher. Feel free to let me know if I have missed anything.

1- disposable nappies (loads)
2- sleep-suits with scratch mittens
3- bodysuits
4- baby hats
5- blanket to carry
6-baby cot
7- bedding
8- washing tub
9- brush, nail cutter, nose cleaning thing etc...
10- boob pads
11-breast pump + pack for breast milk
12-small fridge
13- thermometer
14-baby towels
15- bum cream
16- napkins
17- Sling
18- nipple cream
19- bouncy baby chair
20- baby wipes
21- toiletries

Westcountrylovescheese · 27/04/2012 15:12

Wow war zone, I am very jealous of your preparation skills. My bought list so far:

  1. 6 muslin
  2. Perineum lotion
  3. Cute owl shaped cushion for the nursery

In my defence we are doing major work on our home and are trying to avoid losing space. We have a man coming round this afternoon looking at fitting a new kitchen and a radiator in the nursery. We then will have to change our dump/store room into a nursery.... Then we will start buying!

Eek... Only 9 weeks to go until maternity leave starts!

Vinolover · 27/04/2012 16:50

west I am very jealous of your maternity leave only being 9 weeks away. I'm going to try and get to 36wks which is 11 weeks away but I'm very tempted to start it at 34wks. Actually, I could cheerfully start it in 4 weeks time Wink.

25 degrees sounds lovely warzone, not too hot and not too cool. It's been about 15 here today and compared to the weather in recent days, it's felt like the height of summer!

I suppose I ought to get myself ready. It's my hubby's birthday today and we're going out for a big family meal. I thought I ought to shave my legs and make an effort whilst I was in the bath and omg! It was certainly challenging lol. I can only imagine how much hair I've left behind!! Oh the glamour of it.

fairtradelu · 27/04/2012 17:28

Yikes! I haven't bought anything yet but we are going to whittle down our buggy shortlist this weekend (does that count?!). My husband is Indonesian and in their culture it is apparently bad luck to buy anything before the 8th month. Needless to say we are working on a compromise!!!

Have a great weekend everyone. Fingers crossed the rain stays away!

woopsidaisy · 27/04/2012 17:57

Here is my list of things I have bought....

One neutral babygro.

Grin

It is DC3 though, but I had given away most of my baby stuff as other DC are already in school, and didn't think we would have any more.
I have learnt that you don't need most of the baby stuff.
I am going to start sorting out the baby room this weekend though, and will start getting a few things once that is done.

warzonemummy · 27/04/2012 18:26

woopsidaisy your baby's outfit looks really cute. Mine are all very non feminist pink with the occasional dark blue, green and red.

Since today was my day off I have just obsessed with the baby and have panicked myself by thinking about premature babies :( I hope all our babies stay put until they are fully ready.

Does anyone know if third trimester starts first day of week 27 or first day of week 28?

Westcountrylovescheese · 27/04/2012 19:00

Warzone, seems to be different everywhere you look. However, NHS has it listed as being from 27 to 40 weeks so I'd go with the start of the week. This means I have a week and a half to go... Eek!

susiegrapevine · 27/04/2012 19:58

Hey everyone just thought I would check in. I seem to have the oposite poo problem to most in that mine is very liquid not nice!!
Getting stitch pain is normal just depends on where baby is sitting I think I call it baby stitch got it with ds and have been getting it a bit with this one if I walk too fast.
I have put on 7lbs so far which has been the same for a few weeks now. Was a bit upset tho cos I only put on 6lbs for the whole pregnancy with ds. But I was 4 stone over weight to start with so I guess that's why.
Feeling really really tired today. Not helped by the parking permit office stressing me out!!

Lovemarmite · 28/04/2012 13:31

Woopsiedaisy I was in the CK shop yesterday and coo'ed loads on that outfit - good choice, v cute!

I also discovered their changing mat for when you're out. Their new nappy bags don't come with a change mat but you have to buy it separately. Was convinced it might be a good buy for changing when out... Confused Hmm, is this silly or a good idea?
CK change mat
I think it's very expensive but maybe a nice pressie?

fairtradelu · 28/04/2012 14:10

Susie: I'm with you on the toilet issue. My bowels have been very much on the loose side since beginning of pregnancy. I fear a messy labour (TMI?!)

Had a lovely morning browsing baby stuff today - we've decided to def get the Stokke baby carrier and Tripp Trapp and have narrowed our buggy choice down to Joolz Day or Uppababy Vista. Uppababy is probably slightly more practical (has massive shopping basket) but the Joolz just looks so stylish! Wanted to look at the Mutsy 4Rider too but can't find anyone near York that stocks it -rubbish!

Not sure when I'm going to get round to buying blankets, nappies and all the bits and bobs. Think we'll get the big things sorted and then try and work out what else we really need. My brother said not to bother buying any clothes as we'll get given loads but we have moved a chest of drawers into the "nursery" (large empty room apart from said CoD and desk with computer!) and they only have 2 baby grows in them (present from sister) and two pairs on knitted booties (gift from friend). So it is a bit pathetic really! Was going to buy a changing mat to put on top today but ran out of steam!

geekette · 28/04/2012 14:21

I have put on 11lbs already. Now beginning to worry. Confused

woopsidaisy · 28/04/2012 19:10

Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! Lovemarmite. I'm going to get one also.

geekette...what can I say....except Grin.
I have put on three stone. Yes, you read that right!

Something explodes in me when I'm pregnant. This is DC3 and has been the same each time. I just get absolutely massive bumps. This week I have had at least 4 "horrified" reactions to my due date. People cannot believe that I have three months to go...I'm so big.My wedding rings are still loose, skinny legs etc, just look like I'm having triplets!Confused

The good news is I lose it all again really quickly too. Thanks god!

geekette · 28/04/2012 20:04

Phew, you just saved me a quarrel with myself not to go on a diet!
I am quite happy to know you lose it all. I prefer to hope that the same will happen to me rather than to worry about what I eat right now.

Thanks so much for that woopsi. Great to have people with past experience on here. Do you have to do something special to lose the weight? Breastfeeding, exercise or something I can actually do, like wish it away? Wink

PoppyS34wantssleep · 28/04/2012 20:05

fairtradelu the Joolz Day is lovely, and you can buy an XL shopping bag thingy to give you more storage space.

www.babyandco.com/itemdetl.php/itemprcd/Joolz-XL-Shopping-Basket

Love that changing mat Marmite, so cute :)

fairtradelu · 28/04/2012 20:59

Thanks Poppy, I think you just swung it for me :)

woopsidaisy · 28/04/2012 21:08

Breastfeeding, cut out the chocolate and slimming world when up to it.

The saggy skin is another issue though!

susiegrapevine · 29/04/2012 09:21

geeket I defo found breastfeeding was the answer to loosing weight after birth. I ended up 2 stone lighter than my pre pregnancy weight after breastfeeding lo for a year! And I didn't have to be too careful about what I ate.

woopsiedaisy I have the oposite problem! People don't believe how far along I am as my bump is soo small!! Even tho I am bigger than I was with ds but i still had the same problem!! But worse!

The3Bears · 29/04/2012 10:05

Hi Been so busy all weekend, hope everyone is well.

Marmite That changing mat is so cute, I was looking at it the other day but not sure which changing bag to get yet and alot come with changing mats so going to wait and see :) Love the matching baby gro aswell.

I havent been weighing myself as I dont really want to think about it Blush I think i've put on alot but dp says im the same just bump and boobs Grin I lost alot of weight after ds 1 by just going for long walks and not eating as much, I found I didnt lose the weight while breastfeeding though as you need to consume more calories I breastfed ds for 6 months exclusively, and another 8 or so months at night and mornings (sometimes through the day if he wasnt well) . When I stopped feeding exclusively the weight just fell off straight away which was odd dp and my mum were v worried and thought i had just stopped eating Shock
Im just worried this time as it will be Aug when we have these babys so no coat to cover up mummy tums Grin need to purchase some flattering slouchy cardigans for afterwards :)

25+1 going v quickly now :)

hamncheese · 29/04/2012 14:49

Haha lois that guy shouting slowly... it'd have taken all my might not to just scream at him!!

Molly cat is doing a lot better poppy thanks for asking... her urine test came back and she has bacteria and crystals in her bladder which is not good but hopefully will be sorted by antibios and a change in diet to more acidic food. She's also acting much more like herself which is great cause she is the sweetest mog around :)

Don't know if it will help but to all suffering constipation I found fybogel to be great... but this was pre-pregnancy (luckily not had it since) however it tastes nice unlike lactulose. I always found that while lactulose or other pills did stop the constipation they gave me horrible cramps with every movement, whereahs fybogel didn't. Not sure it alone would cut it now but may be a helper? You can get it on prescription too but make sure and get the flavoured one not plain (orange or lemon)!

alison I've been getting VERY achey every time I go for a walk, especially if it's arduous and uphill... just like a stitch or dragging pain, like period pain almost but not so sharp. As it is when I move I've not felt worried by it... it tends to ease off when I slow down a bit only.

Vino I did that for the wedding anniversary I was at, such a hassle shaving legs now cause of bump, did it in the bath and then later was like WHAT THE HELL IS ALL THAT WEIRD STUFF IN THE BATH!?!?! Yes, my leg hair. Like DH's beard shaving only 10x more Blush

Due to all your posts I just got on the scales. I've gained 2 and a quarter stone... Seriously. I don't know where the hell it's gone though as I've been asking everyone and critically examining myself and it is all bump. Well, partly bump and also boobs. I want my old boobs back :( they were so neat and easy to manage. Oh well, did get a LOT of compliments over the weekend about bump and have been told I'm "all bump" which is encouraging. I was also pretty fit (for me) pre-preg and the first 4 months involved a lot of sitting on my bum and eating so as not to feel as sick. AH WELL.

Back not long ago from long weekend in pitlochry which was lovely though did make me wish we could sell our flat and get somewhere as quiet and relaxed and not with sirens and obnoxiously loud motorcyclists going by in the middle of the night. Anyone else noticed that now they are pregnant they are suddenly much more special and valuable than they were before? At first it was so nice to get asked after and complimented on looking well but then I was thinking hmmm so before, as just me, I wasn't worth complimenting/caring about? haha. My SIL sends me facebook messages every week asking how I am, before she wouldn't have bothered. Guess it's just what happens, much like the constant echos of "careful" following your every move.

Hope you all have a great sunday Grin

25+1
