The pregnancy calculators are saying im due Oct 1st......I have a nearly 10month old DD1 and my last mumsnet group was a lifeline and the best support ever. This is a planned pregnancy but i am still in a state of shock as we only stopped using contraception at newyear thinking it may take a while to get the BFP.

Hi mrs v hope you don't mind me joining you! CONGRATULATIONS! I had bfp three days ago and haven't stopped testing yet! This will be our 1st and although we planned it it still hard to believe!! I came of the pill in aug and so it happened pretty quickly but not as quick as urs wow! You probably know a lot more than I do having a dd, I've been advised on here to go see a doc! But when? I feel slightly silly going to the doc when there's nothing wrong with me lol! What will you do? Do you have any symptoms yet? I think I'm due oct 5th.

mrsv2 · 26/01/2012 16:47

Hi cheeky and congratulations on your bfp. You normally have to go to the Gp so you canbe referred to the midwife for a booking in appointment but speak to your surgery as you may be able to self refer to the midwife. I am off to Gp tomorrow but only as I need to take my DD and want to get into the system early as DD was born early. Only symptoms is dizziness and a metallic taste in my mouth, I knew I was pg 5 days before I tested because of this

Hi everyone :D

I just tested today and got a BFP :D I checked, and it says I am due 1st October :D

campbelly · 27/01/2012 01:56

Positive test on monday. Due probably 29 sept-5th oct (irregular cycle)
We'd been trying for precisely 4 weeks - Just like MrsV!
I'm bursting to tell everybody, because it's so exciting, but I don't want to really, because it's waaaaay too early.

I feel a bit like a kid waiting for Christmas now.

Guess who's having trouble sleeping already?

milk · 27/01/2012 07:53

I have been awake since 4am :P I am going to be exhausted by the time my 10 month old DS tires me today :)

campbelly, I want to tell everyone too, but I also want to wait until after the 12 week scan as I couldn't stand the pity party if something were to happen to the baby.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 27/01/2012 09:58

Hi everyone. Just got my BFP yesterday and still in a state of shock. The calculators say 1st October to me :) This is our first and we only started trying this month! I am booked in with the doctor for next week.

milk · 27/01/2012 13:09

HeeHeeHeeBum, also due 1st October :D Congratulations to you (and us all) btw :D

This is my 2nd, so if you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Have we all decided which hospital we want to go to yet?

Beans1977 · 27/01/2012 13:14

Hello! Congratulations everyone. I got a BFP last week and I think I'm due on 4th October!

We've been trying for about a year, but I had a MMC at 13 weeks last year so trying to stay relaxed and enjoy each day at a time. Hoping to be luckier this time around!

Had an appointment with my GP this morning, who's now organising my booking in appointment with the midwife - think I might have an early scan too just to keep my nerves at bay a bit!

mrsv2 · 27/01/2012 13:46

welcome milk, beans, heehee and camp.........gp later for me today, thought i had the most horrendous and violet sickness last night and was like OMG if the is MS i am going to die ( didnt have any with DD1) but i think its a tummy bug as DH has the D today and DD1 had D&V on wed. Hope everyone is well.

milk · 27/01/2012 15:33

Welcome Beans :)

My GP is so annoying! You can't make appointments in advance so if I want an appointment on Tuesday I have to call them at 8am on the day and make an appointment except I can never get through to them on the phone so instead I have to turn up at 8am, make an appointment, then return later Angry I would change GP but I like the doctor so much- I just don't like their stupid appointments system!

Cheekychops29 · 27/01/2012 15:47

Hiya everyone and sooooo many congratulations!!! I did a proper hpt last night as my other half was in denial until I went to docs, so this satisfied him till I book my appt! He's excited now he's seen it haha! Everyday get more exciting how on earth are we going to cope with not telling anyone! Thank goodness for you girls x

I think I know which hospital I want to go to, you hear horror stories about them all though! I'd like to go to a birthing centre but there are none in my area. Has anyone thought of a home birth? Do they allow this on dc1?

Hope your beans are all doing well today x

Beans1977 · 27/01/2012 16:04

Hello! I live in central London and my local hospital has a really good maternity unit - the staff there were really good at my scans last time, and also brilliant when everything went wrong, so I'm happy to go there again.

I've just made an appointment for an early scan in 4 weeks time - I don't think I can wait any longer! Even that seems a long way away. Every day seems to be going quite slowly for me at the moment. Don't have any real 'symptoms' as such - just exhausted and sleeping more than normal, and feeling and underlying queasiness!

MildredH · 27/01/2012 16:12

I am going to lurk with hopeful intent on this thread.. TTC again after a MMC at 10 wks in Dec.. Totally missed the boat to join a thread with the last preg..

Hope all going well for everyone so far- and hope to be back after the 2ww in 10 days or so!

Macaroons · 27/01/2012 16:21

Congrats allSmile best wishes to you all!

I'm actually due in September but am being nosy and peeking in the October thread Blush beans1977 would you mind telling me which is the great central London hospital? I could choose between kings and guys and st Thomas. Ive picked tommies and hope I've made the right decision.

Beans1977 · 27/01/2012 17:03

Hi Macaroons - I had a really good experience of St Thomas's so I'm sticking with them. The staff at the scans were lovely and helpful - and they couldn't have been gentler or kinder when things didn't work out for us. I highly recommend them! I think you've made a great decision :-)

milk · 27/01/2012 17:05

Cheekychops29, I would never have a home birth! A birthing centre connected to a hospital sounds nice though :)

Angelico · 27/01/2012 17:46

Hi all! I'm due on the 5th Oct and only found out a few days ago. I expected it was going to take ages but we only started trying last month - had to do 4 tests before I believed it! Cheekychops this will also be our first so I phoned the surgery the other day and they just booked me straight in with the midwife - in 2 weeks time! I'll only be at 6 weeks then but the home tests are so reliable now they don't bother getting the GP to test you.

milk · 27/01/2012 17:52

Congratulations Angelico :)

milk · 27/01/2012 17:59

I thought I would compile a list of due dates :)

Macaroons- September- We have a September spy on our hands Wink
campbelly- 29 sept-5th oct (irregular cycle)
HeeHeeHeeBum- 1st
mrsv2- 1st
milk- 1st
Beans1977- 4th
Angelico- 5th
Cheekychops29- 5th

MildredH- we hope to see you on this list soon!!!

Macaroons · 27/01/2012 18:41

milk oh please don't call me a spy Blush I'm just nosy Blush

If you ladies are unsure of what to expect after you get your BFP after you POAS, feel free to have a nosy peek at the September thread. we talked about the various symtoms and worries caused by lack of symtoms... Hmm

beans1977 great to hear of your experience at Tommies, sorry it didn't work out last time but at least you were well taken care of!

all the best to our lovely little beans!!

HeeHeeHeeBum · 27/01/2012 18:51

Ooh lots of us now, congratulations everyone!

I made an appointment with my GP and midwife today. There was some confusion as the nurse they put me through to didn't really know what to do with me. Turns out they won't let me see the midwife without seeing the GP first.

I've been feeling a bit dizzy today, how is everyone else feeling? When is everyone going to tell their employer?

campbelly · 27/01/2012 20:51

I'm in London too, out East. I live really near Newham hospital, but the old maternity ward has some real horror stories, and I haven't heard anything yet about the new one that opened last year, so I don't know what to do!

I sometimes think somewhere central, sometimes birthing centre - many things to ponder...

Angelico · 27/01/2012 21:59

Thanks Milk, you too :-) In fact congratulations all! HeeHee I have been getting dizzy spells too and in fact started getting them a few days before I even knew I was pregnant. I've also been waking up earlyish in the morning - maybe an hour earlier than usual, just awake instantly - not in a worried way, just calm and alert. It's actually annoying because then I have to try and doze again. I had been feeling really high energy the last few days but can't stop yawning tonight - although maybe that's because of the massive Chinese we had for tea...!

On a food note, what have you all be doing? Does anyone else find it hard to eat their five a day? I've been taking my preg vits and preg cod liver oil for a few months but I find it really hard to eat my five a day.

EmmaNicole · 27/01/2012 22:55

I'm with MildredH, and am currently on 2ww; testing in 7 days. This is only 1st month ttc so shouldn't get my hopes up but I have ....DH isn't though - he wants many more months of trying!! We have 1 DD who's 2 1/2. We have recently moved to France so if I am lucky enough to get pregnant then I'm anticipating that the care will be very different. Keeping every thing crossed!! (except the legs)
