Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

Congrats!! Welcome aboard!! Anyone off tea n coffee? Everyone I've ever known to be pregnant has been off it but I'm not still love it altho I've gone to decaf

I'll be 7 weeks Friday n the time can not go fast enough for me! Hurry up 12 week scan!!! I'm so nervous about it I want to make sure everything is ok!

Anyone going to go for an early private one?

Angel786 · 05/12/2011 13:21

MrsMamma still love a decaf Grin I am contemplating an 8 weeker for the scan... didn't bother 1ts time around tho. Did try a sip of wine and that tasted awful (not drinking during the 1st 3 months but been pretending to so ppl don't guess!).

Warzone - I think a heartbeat can be detected from as early as 8 weeks so you can get a private scan for around £100 - 150.

Congrats Megs!

I'm not off tea or coffee and hate decaf - don't have much though so not too worried. I had lots of spotting with dd when i was 5 weeks - think its dead common.

Dh has banned me from discussing names until i know the gender - don't think the thread and needle test will count.

SwanseaMum · 05/12/2011 13:38

Woo hoo got a date for my 12 week scan. 29th of Dec can't believe it thought it would be in Jan.
:-)

XboxWidow30 · 05/12/2011 14:11

What a lvoely belated Xmas present swanseamum, I bet you are really excited.

I went off tea with my 4th baby, didn't touch it for the whole time I was pg but as soon as I had him I could drink it! I got to 11 weeks with my 5th baby and had got off relatively lightly with morning sickness just very tired but unfortunately that pg resulted in an mc.

This time around I would like to have mild morning sickness again please as my 3rd and 4th pg's were awful for the first few months!

Congrats MegsLT, that's my dd's birthday. My due date has been predicted as the 6th I think it was but am sure dd would like it to happen on her birthday, once she finds out!

Lizbeth77 · 05/12/2011 16:26

MrsMamma Fortunately not off tea, I think I would cease to function! Hospital tap water too disgusting to contemplate & coolers all removed in the great cut backs Sad
Xboxwidow 6th is my due date too although if it's a warm summer I'm betting I won't last that long!
This may sound stupid but.... I just made a GP appintment for Thurs - I'll be 5 weeks then - am I being overexcited, I wanted to get booked in before Christmas and I don't have many days off!

Gnomi · 05/12/2011 20:17

Congratulations Megs LT - that's my birthday!

I'm sticking to decaff mostly, although I did have a cup of non-decaff today at work. The guidelines say up to 200mg, so I think that's ok on a rare basis. It still tastes good to me.

I've got my first appointment with the midwife next Monday. I rang doctors and made an appointment with the GP, then realised I might not need to see her, so I rang back and they could fit me in with the midwife sooner. Brilliant! I'm hoping I'll be around 7 weeks by then - not really sure at all.

mrsmamma · 05/12/2011 20:55

Your all so lucky! I'm not seeing my midwife until 28th jan and I'll be 9 weeks + by then !! I think my due date is 1st ish!

Glad I'm not the only one still loving tea n coffee!

Apparently 6 weeks is a a bad time for morning sickness so I could have it coming this week! So far other than continual positive tests I wudnt believe I was pregnant as feel no different at all!! A friend once told me she just knew she was pregnant from a feeling but I don't know how!

SwanseaMum · 05/12/2011 21:06

Mrsmamma, is this your first? I knew when i was a couple week even before i did the test. I guess it has something to do with this being my third that and i felt sick lol

XboxWidow30 · 05/12/2011 21:10

I was booked in at 7 weeks by my midwife last time, this time round that would make it the week before Xmas, if I leave it until after Xmas and New Year then I will be 10 weeks by then. Will call her next week when I am 6 weeks and see what she says .I want to get in and see her because of my mc last time. Just want some reassurance really.

If they think its too early then they won't see you so they must be ok to see you, if that makes sense?!

KatieDingus · 05/12/2011 22:00

Hiya, Angel I think i am due 30 july but not sure to date it according to the test or how the doctor works it out! I have my first appt tomorrow.
Mrsmamma I have a stressful job too, not many women where I work and those in charge are absolute monsters! I need to find out my rights as I would much rather look after baby than work my guts out for that lot!

mrsmamma · 05/12/2011 22:41

Yes this is my first ! So not sure what to expect!
Not looking forward to telling work, only been there 2 months n they took me on as are expanding massively next year Blush never dreamt it get pregnant yet! Sounds stupid now but really didn't!

TwickersChick · 06/12/2011 08:19

Hi all,

Sadly what started as spotting got a lot heavier and have now miscarried.

I'm focussing on the bright side, like what I can eat and drink for Christmas and that this is the furthest we've got while TTC for 10 months.

So... As I exit this group, wanted to thank all for your lovely support, and I'll be thinking of you all in Aug! Thanks
Hopefully I won't be too far behind...

MegsLT · 06/12/2011 09:07

So sorry to here that Twickers... Thinking of you. x

Vycki · 06/12/2011 09:45

Hello everyone,
Just found out on Saturday - the test confirmed 1-2 weeks... I had nausea a week ago which must have been the day of conception. Wow the symptoms have kicked in very quickly!
I am also 38 and a little cautious - I share your concerns lulubelle1, but have friends who were pregnant around this age and have all gone on with good pregnancies and healthy kids.
So far the symptoms are nausea especially after sweet things and tea, insomnia and waking up at 4am and not getting back to sleep, lots of saliva and tiredness. My boobs feel normal but my nipples are very large all the time!
This is our first and I hope I can keep the nausea under control over Christmas as I don't want to tell anyone really until 10-12 weeks... but it might be obvious?!
Hope everyone is doing well xxx

Vycki · 06/12/2011 09:47

Sorry to hear that too Twickers
Hope you're doing okay too x

Lizbeth77 · 06/12/2011 10:49

Really sorry to hear that Twickers, have a good Christmas and hope the New Year brings a new chance! xx

mrsmamma · 06/12/2011 13:19

Twickers sorry to hear your news but u have a great positive attitude! Best of luck x

mrsmamma · 06/12/2011 13:23

Vycki congrats!

Wow lots of symptoms! I feel no different other than constant sore boobs and have to keep reminding myself I'm pregnant! Wish I did have some sickness so I believe it a little!

PoppySeed34 · 06/12/2011 13:51

sorry to hear that Twickers Chick :(

SwanseaMum · 06/12/2011 16:34

Sorry twicker I am so sad for you :(
i have got low back and pelvic pain today hope i am not developing a uti. feel like curling up in a ball in front of the fire but i have too boys to feed.

Vycki · 06/12/2011 18:07

Hi everyone,
Is it normal to lose interest in things you normally like doing and just want to sit on the sofa for a while? Not sleeping well and so that might be the reason.
I work as a freelancer at home and am also retraining and so need to be focused but I can't seem to get much motivation up and I get really distracted. I guess that's normal when you're first pregnant as it's all new?! Is anyone feeling the same?

Vycki · 06/12/2011 18:16

Hi Mrsmamma
It's amazing how we experience very different symptoms.
I think I would like to swap sore boobs for a bit of my sicky feelings! Maybe it's all to come soon...

PoppySeed34 · 06/12/2011 18:58

I kept worrying about not having sore boobs. Well, this kicked in a bit today, blimey! Shock it's very bizarre. they ache and feel prickly. very weird, but reassured me. if that doesn't sound too mad!! Blush :)

mrsmamma · 06/12/2011 19:15

I know I sound mad for wanting to feel a bit sick but sickness Is meant to be a very good sign! The fact I feel nothing makes it seem not real?

I'm the opposite to you! All I want to do Is sleep been going bed really early! And yes my mind keeps wandering x
