Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

Hi, things that might help morning sickness: dry crackers, biscuits, ginger. Dont let yourself get too hungry, so eat a little and often. You could ask your doctor about taking a vitamin b supplement as there has been some research that this helps ms. Hope you feel better soon.

lulubelle1 · 02/12/2011 15:22

symptoms too! Mainly feeling sick at odd times, and some cramps, perhaps too much info, but slightly more discharge than usual too!
Otherwise feel normal. I do have a slight temperature, around 37.4-5, which can apparently be normal in pregnancy, due to an increased metabolism.... :)

NauseousKitty · 02/12/2011 15:26

Thank you homeaway. The problem is that I am always hungry as well! Trying to snack on raw veggies as this seems to help, but am sending DH for ginger tea (and ginger biscuits :) too).

lulubelle1 - having the same 'issue' as you - not too much info if it helps someone else feel normal!

warzonemummy · 02/12/2011 16:23

hello everyone, the excitement hasn't worn off yet. no symptoms yet, except heavy boobs. I had one day of being sick but it could have been something else. I wanted to ask if anyone has had a blood test done? I heard that in the UK women have to get one done early on. But since I am living abroad I haven't had one here yet.

mrsmamma · 02/12/2011 17:31

I've had sore heavy boobs n some days it's worse than others !! Some days they feel like great big water melons!!

I'm meant to be playing in a squash tournament next week but dr said I shouldn't play due to potential contact so need to think of an excuse to tell my friend! Don't like lying but only close family know at the mo n want to keep it that wAy any ideas?

Not had a blood test yet but think midwife does one at 8 weeks

Gnomi · 02/12/2011 20:35

Hello everyone, congratulations all round! Xmas Smile

I had my BFP this morning - AF was three weeks late, but I took 3 tests 2 weeks ago which were all negative, so I had convinced myself that I wasn't pg!

I've done a Clearblue one now, which says I'm only 2-3 weeks since conception, but according to the pregnancy calculators I'm around 6 weeks. I think I'm probably more than 2-3 weeks as I already have a teeny tiny bump! Does anyone else have a little bump? Just not able to hold my tummy in like normal.

Other than that, no other symptoms... when should morning sickness kick in? So many questions!

mrsmamma · 03/12/2011 07:04

Welcome gnome
6 weeks means 6 weeks from your last period it's where they count the pregnancy from even though u were not technically pregnant but it was the start of the cycle u got pregnant it! You are 2-3 weeks from conception if that's what the digital test says

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 08:57

Hi everyone! congrat's to you all :) I am gonna very 9weeks tomorrow :) so due the beginning of July haven't got a Dd because i got pregnant 2 weeks after a laparoscopy for treating endometriosis lol. i couldn't believe it. its my 3rd and it defiantly wasn't suppose to be so quick. My hubby is still in shock.

Westcountrywife · 03/12/2011 09:11

Hi all, well i'm due 3rd august with my first ever, we got bfp on second month trying. DH seems to think I should have expected this but am a little bit in shock. ...but a lot excited too! We haven't told anyone yet but with xmas looming there are going to be some difficult deflections to make! Telling families soon though, I'm a bit worried about this as it means baby secret no longer ours and worry that they'll now expect something from me (baby obviously but also earth mama etc). Am I mad feeling like this?

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 09:42

Westcountrywife, first off congrats. Your not mad for feeling the way you do, while the secret is yours you are in control, there are no well meaning family members or friends giving you advice or horror stories. My advice would be to enjoy the attention when you do tell people and take all advice given but only use what you feel is right. Try not to stess about something that hasn't happened yet cause it won't do you any favours in the long run :)
hope that helps a bit

Westcountrywife · 03/12/2011 10:02

Thank you Swanseamum! Grin

When is ur due date?

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 10:39

No probs I am due in July wont find out a date till my 12 week scan which is around Christmas :) but at the mo we are going with the 8th. Its a nice change for me both of my boys were born in Feb :D

whatty · 03/12/2011 12:00

have just done a pregnancy test this morning- it says 1-2 weeks. first pregnancy and my dh is away for the weekend! am feeling v nervous and excited. first month of trying- am amazed!! am going to need this message board whilst i try and keep my news under wraps with friends and work colleagues...Grin

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 13:32

Lol whatty. congrats you have got quite a way to go before you spill the beans :) I think this is the perfect place to find people who are in the same boat. I have only recently found this site and already found support where i never found it before. :D

whatty · 03/12/2011 13:51

thanks swanseaMum! great to know that there is support on here. am having a good look around the site to start learning what i should and shouldn't be doing. so much to know! am guessing you're v much in the know already with 2 boys?!

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 14:11

I know i am crazy having another one lol, even I am still learning as every pregnancy is different. I have got a lovely midwife this time which is fab. The one i had last time was lovely but she left just before i had my second son and the one who replaced her was scary lol, i didn't have her very long tho :)

FruitShootsSantaandLeaves · 03/12/2011 14:15

August babies are great, I have 3 (with hind site that wasn't very good planning Xmas Grin )
Hope it's not too hot for you all when you are all huge due

Gnomi · 03/12/2011 14:45

Wow SwanseaMum, you're very organised having got to know your midwife already. I couldn't get a drs.appointment for two weeks!

whatty I know exactly how you feel - it's so nice to be able to talk about being pregnant here - I think it makes it all seem a little bit more real.

Loupee · 03/12/2011 14:55

Hi, I'd like to join in please :)
Found out I was pregnant last week, the internet says I'm due on the 1st August, the docs say 3rd, and its my birthday on the 2nd August!
So excited/terrified, this is our first, surprised it happened this month, as DH was away for most of it.
Been feeling constantly nauseous and shattered the past few days, looking forward to getting past this stage.
Lovely to 'meet' you all.

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 15:04

Gnomi I have to be honest I work in a Dr surgery and although the midwife isn't actually ment to look after me she said she would. She booked me last Tuesday cause she is off next week. Have to have my blood taken next week, that's also being done in work thanks to one of the nurses. :)

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 15:07

Loupee congrats hundred i feel exactly the same. i feel sick in the evenings its torture can't eat after 4 I am holding onto the fact it may be over in a month or so :)

XboxWidow30 · 03/12/2011 15:38

Can I join too please? Due around 6th August. Only just found out this last week that we are pg. We have 4 children already and I had a mc at the beginning of Oct so finding it very hard to relax and not panic. Just want to get to 12 weeks and scan etc.... Hopefully the festive period will make it go quickly! Hello to everyone else.

SwanseaMum · 03/12/2011 16:12

Hi xboxwidow. Congrats. That I can also sympathise with. I am on anti depressants since the my second child was born ( he was really ill after he was born and the hospital appts got too much) the sense of panic as well as excitement was overwhelming. I hope it goes quickly for you i really can't wait till my scan either. i feel like i have known forever.

Angel786 · 03/12/2011 20:38

Welcome everyone! : Too many to name individually Grin

So we told our families today - easier to avoid the xmas drinkfest! It was dd's 1st birthday party (waited til the v end so as not to take over her day). Everyone seemed surprised but def less excited than 1st time around.

Still no morning sickness, thank God!

Anyone got any cravings?

Loupee · 03/12/2011 20:50

Hi Xboxwidow, can relate to your name, DH is always on the Playstation! Hope the time to 12 weeks goes in fast, must be kept busy with 4 already tho!

No cravings really, generally feel repulsed by the thought of food until I start eating it, described it to my DH as feeling hungover, without the good night out!

Told my best friend today, will tell my sisters next weekend when they come over, rest of the family will probably get told on Christmas.
