Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

Really very sorry to read that NathanDetroit, sending you lots of hugs and wishes to help you get through this. x x

Lovemarmite · 15/01/2012 15:12

Hi everyone - hope everyone is doing well

I've felt lousy all weekend with ms and tiredness, after 2 days when the ms had disappeared... hmmm, why didn't I enjoy those days rather than worry about it?!

Was out all day yesterday in the car, meeting family and then a few shops and well, I have to report that going without food for about 5 hours made me really weak and then after stuffing an M&S cheese roll down, oh dear, all my blood rushed to my stomach and I was left wretched all evening with shortness of breath and very low blood pressure with heart racing - mental note, never leave home without lots of snacks! Also I've noticed that the two days without marmite has equalled ms. I have a Patrick Holford book about what to eat in pregnancy (a bit loony in places) and he suggests that ms is due to poor vitamin status, esp vit B6 (hmm he's a man and never been through it and so he can suggest what he likes!) but I have to say that marmite has lots of B vitamins and so maybe onto something... will have marmite tomorrow and see if it makes a difference... hope everyone's ms is not too bad x

blackcatsdancing · 15/01/2012 16:30

nearly threw up in Sainsburys earlier today- i must remember to start carrying extra food with me . And am covered with spots , over my neck, behind my ears, all over chest, a few on my face , luckily most are tiny red rash like ones but i have the odd large red beacon too. Busting out of my bra (that's good as am small) but holding off getting a new one until after NT scan. Really hoping i feel better after week 12.

blackcatsdancing · 15/01/2012 16:39

Hi lovemarmite i didn't read your post before i did mine. We had similar experiences. I tend to have low blood pressure anyway so am curious to see what i measure at MW next week. As for Mr Holford, well he is trying to sell products /himself so i am skeptical. Truth is no one knows what causes MS and why some people escape. I know being tired and too long between eating makes mine worse. Hormones are suspected as being part of the reason , look at our hCg levels

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

* 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
* 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
* 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
* 6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
* 7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
* 9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
* 13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
* 17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
* 25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
* Non-pregnant females:

I've just read in my book that all those ladies with morning sickness are more likely to have girls and all of us without should expect boys Grin

We will see how true this is in July/aug

blackcatsdancing · 15/01/2012 16:42

but if marmite helps you then keep it up.

Lovemarmite · 15/01/2012 16:43

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough too blackcatsdancing
Guess it gives us some comfort that we're not going through this alone!

blackcatsdancing · 15/01/2012 16:45

Mrsmamma i'm probably having a CVS in 2-3 weeks time so will find out sex then and see if there's any truth in it. I suffered MS with my first and she's a girl....

Lovemarmite · 15/01/2012 16:50

Just read your second post blackcatsdancing with the facts - interesting figures, thanks for those. I wonder if weeks 9-12 can be the worst as there maybe more hCg in the blood? Interesting... I was thinking that at week 9 it had subsided and then a few days before week 10 it's all come back with a vengeance. I think tiredness and stress might be a cause too (and lack of marmite :o))

I read somewhere that if you eat veggies and not much meat you get a girl and lots of meat, you get a boy - hee hee, what a bunch of mumbo that is I bet, but, on this note, I will be surprised if I get a boy! :o)

MrsMigginslovespies · 15/01/2012 17:36

Really sad to hear your news NathanDetroit. Thinking of you and your DH at this awful time.

Oddly, I too have found that marmite really helps! Had some today and definitely takes off any sicky edge. My sister had no MS with DS1 but did with DC2 who is a girl. Hmm! Feeling shattered still and wiped out by 9pm. Hope I can stay awake long enough for the last Sherlock tonight Sad. Have another scan on Tues to check all is ok and can't help but feel anxious again about it all. Passed a few more grim lumps yesterday, so hope and pray all is fine in there.

Enjoy your evenings all,

Mrs Mx

voscar · 15/01/2012 17:56

Good luck on Tuesday mrsmiggins - hope it all goes well. X

Re sickness - I'm still taking the anti emetics which deal with the worst of it, but don't stop it. Still throwing up in morning (partially caused by bad cold/coughing).

I had to open our loaf of bread at the check out in asda and start eating the end of it as I thought I was gonna throw up on the checkout girl - should have seen thr looks I got from people on my way out munching on this slice of bread. They clearly thought I was some fat bint who just couldn't wait until she got home (or even into car.... Titter)

Lovemarmite · 15/01/2012 18:33

Mrsmiggins good luck for Tuesday too!

Oh dear, fully understand the looks voscar. Yes stuffed my face at the M&S service station checkout yesterday - as I handed the money over, I ripped the the cheese roll out of the wrapper and then stuffed it in my face - what a sight! I actually stood there beforehand and it didn't register that I had to pay for it! Hmm brain not in gear.
DH decided to buy a car yesterday, if all goes well in August, we might regret not spending the money on it now as I can imagine there'll be other costs. But in the car dealership I was so tired and sick that I sat there and made faces, can't seem to hide my feelings! they made me a cup of tea and the milk was one of those UHT sachets - yuck, I almost throw up on their magazines. A chap came over to look at me and I'm sure my face said, leave me alone now, he retreated and didn't come back! ha ha, joys of this makes me laugh though (after a while!).

eightieshopaholic · 15/01/2012 19:37

Hi Ladies This may be to much info but could do with some advise, had small amount off brown discharge first thing this morning wee clear no blood and only when wipe notice it sorry tmi info a little worried had scan last week all seemed fine 10 weeks today.

Lovemarmite · 15/01/2012 20:00

Hi eightieshopaholic
Not had this myself (yet) 10 weeks on Tuesday and so can't advise but perhaps phone your mw tomorrow to make sure and put your mind at rest? I guess if there was no pain then that would be a good sign.

I remember reading that sometimes after sex whilst pregnant, brown discharge can be seen and this is normal.

Hope all is okay x

NeedlesCuties · 15/01/2012 20:13

eighties I'm not a medical professional, but have had previous experience in my first pregnant.

I've read that brown discharge is old blood so isn't fresh from the womb lining. That means things should be okay if it isn't coupled with cramping and spasms.

I've mentioned waaay upthread that I bled for a full week bright red period blood when I was 13-14 weeks with DS. I freaked out, went straight to hospital and DH (who is a doctor) did a sneaky scan on me for peace of mind. Clearly all was fine as DS is now a healthy 23 month old chatterbox. When I spoke to DH and my midwife at that time they both couldn't tell me why I was bleeding, said it just is one of those things. Confused

If you're worried, ring the midwife and she might get you in for a scan. Really hope all is well.

MrsLister · 15/01/2012 20:46

Hi ladies - I'm really suffering from bloating - to the point where I'm going to have to go out and buy some new jeans tomorrow - is this common?

I've got a big stomach anyway (first and last place I lose weight!) but I literally look about 5 months pregnant! It's really embarrassing - will it go down before it turns into 'baby' (so to speak) or do some people just get bloating really early on?

Thanks

Angel786 · 15/01/2012 20:56

mrslister yes, sometimes my bump is ridiculously big, others more like a small grapefruit! Think it's a combination of gas/constipation and pregnancy?!

Intersting theory mrsmamma, with dd my ms lasted weeks 8-14 but this time was just v bad for a week then the odd retching but not like before.

Got the scan tomorrow ladies, v nervous. Fingers xd there's a heartbeat and all is well, but I'm not taking it for granted. Do they still do an internal at the 12 week scan? Worried about my bikini line amongst the general worry!!

OP posts:
eightieshopaholic · 15/01/2012 21:05

Thank you for the info ladies, have looked on a couple of sites seems ok, a few people have had the same so will give a couple of days.

Angel, I had a dating scan last week was thinking the same as you, had a tidy up just in case lol!! not needed they said only do internal when earlier on I was 9wk 4 when had scan x

geekette · 15/01/2012 21:18

Confused I'm only 8 weeks but I already want this to be over? :(
I can't stand the mood swings any more and have spent yet another weekend feeling low and not doing anything useful. My inactivity seems to be the real deal breaker.
Also the tight tummy/bloatedness came back today. It is so uncomfortable.

Sorry, having a bad time now. Not sure why I felt the need to share. I've already infected DH with my bad mood...

Westcountrywife · 15/01/2012 21:52

Geekette, that's what we are here for. So we need to cheer you up. Surely the comments about 'tidying up' made you giggle?

These moods and feelings are temporary. You are feeling all over the place but that's because your hormones are going wild and you are full of nerves and anxieties. But you are not alone. We are all here and going through the same mix of emotions with bodies that are doing mad and amazing things.

Yesterday I put on a cd of Latin samba music on high and danced around like a mad thing. Made me feel instantly happy. Is there anything you can do which will have the same effect?

Angel786 · 15/01/2012 22:01

Thanks eighties last year they did as they could get more measurements from in 'there', so tonight I epilated my other leg just in case ( long story, depilated one leg a fortnight ago and haven't had time yet to do the other!) was worried about looking like half a gorilla... Bikini line was due a tidy up next lol! Apols if tmi!

OP posts:
geekette · 15/01/2012 22:12

Thanks Westcountry.
Finding it hard to find the usual things even vaguely amusing...

Not sure what "tidying up" is. Have I missed a post? currently following Angel's fur dilemma in case that can get me to crack a smile at some point. (Good luck with the scan by the way)

I have never had to make myself happy before. I always took it for granted that happiness came after a while anyway... Now everything looks so gloomy.

Got a 5:30 start for work tomorrow so calling it a night already.

capecath · 15/01/2012 22:35

Can I join please? Due 15 Aug. Baby is still a secret everywhere else :) Almost 10 weeks on (will be baby #2 for us) and feeling ROUGH for 6 weeks already. Feels like all day. UGH. Craving salt and vinegar chips and orange juice.
