Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

thanks for the replies all, glad it's not just me. I'm finding it quite unpleasant and uncomfortable but am assuming it's muscles stretching and whatnot. I think it's trying to cope at work that's getting me down so much. When I'm at home I don't have to pretend to be ok, or remember not to groan when getting up and stuff. I'm finding the days so long! I also had a nice nap when I got home which I hope will help tomorrow. Scan on Saturday should tell me what's going on in there and how long til the alledgedly "magic" 12 weeks!

xx

NathanDetroit · 12/01/2012 21:38

angel - yes to the breathlessness - I thought it didn't start til much later on and the baby's crushing your lungs. Was wondering if I had a chest infection! ;) Hmmm, pregnancy is troublesome, isn't it? ;)

MrsMigginslovespies · 12/01/2012 21:54

Hello, also v breathless at times too Thought it was because I'm not very fit at the moment. Tis odd. So, had my first MW appointment today and it was very good and THOROUGH! About an hour and 15 mins. Tons of questions, especially about past surgery stuff, family history etc etc. They've got me in for another (my 3rd!) on Tuesday (will be 9 weeks then) to check that blood clot thing is going away, plus to calm my fears about the other baby that didn't make it Sad. So, I came away with lots of leaflets, a bounty pack, some good reassurance as the MW seems a sensible friendly lady and a push to get a flu jab. She's also pretty much comfirmed that because of all my scar tissue, adhesions, and general knackered lady bits, that I'll be having a CS which I'm in two minds about but at least know at this point. Feel pleased about it all, but also feel it's all raised more questions than it answered! Glad my Mum was with me too.

Anyhoo, hope everyone feels ok tonight. My sickness has been better today which is good, but tummy looks huge, probably not helped by jacket potato for supper in from of tv with Kirsty and Phil...!

ballinderrymum · 13/01/2012 09:21

what a day! while i am trying to suppress my anxiety about going for my scan after the discharge at the weekend, DD decides she doesn't want to go to school and starts crying in the car that she'll miss me and doesn't want to go (i had this throughout preschool but she has been great in P1 since september) when i take her into the class to hand her over to the teacher, the hormones get the better of me and i start crying uncontrollably to the teacher - i was so embarrassed and emotional. i just wish i had my scan right now, tuesday feels so far away.

Peasandyoghurt · 13/01/2012 10:53

'12 week' scan today (I think I'm actually only 10 weeks though as long cycle). Sooooo nervous/ excited. Keep imagining what they'd say if all wasn't ok... Ugh. Sure it will be fine.

I've had the most awful all day nausea for the last month, but then yesterday at work and first thing this morning I was actually sick - feel like it's baby trying to reassure me everything's ok; I do feel strangley reassured - not to mention vindicated for all the 'I feel so sick' moaning, which I sometimes even start to question myself. Like this morning I felt really sick in the shower and found myself thinking 'did you used to feel sick when you were hungry/ before breakfast thought?' which I always find an odd thought as turns out I literally cannot remember what I felt like pre-constant feeling sick. Anyway, climbed out of shower and promptly did empty stomach vom in the loo (horrible acid - my throat's still saw) and felt strangely pleased - surely you being sick means everything's ok?! Arggghhh, the constant uncertainty. Cannot wait to have a big bump and really hoping for a really active baby who kicks all day and night just so I know it's alive!

Anyway, scan at 1.30. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxx

ballinderrymum · 13/01/2012 11:27

good luck peas i know how you feel about the uncertainty. tuesday can't come soon enough. is this your first? i was told to drink lots of water as this fills your bladder and raises the baby giving a clearer scan. on my 12 weeks scan with DD1 i drank so much i thought i was going to wet myself while getting scanned :)

Peasandyoghurt · 13/01/2012 11:31

Thanks balinderry! It is my first and I'm a complete nervous wreck about everything! Thanks for the drinking water tip - off to get my bottle filled up now! Good luck for Tuesday! x

PoppyS34 · 13/01/2012 12:37

Good luck with your scan peasandyoghurt can't wait to hear how you get on. :)

Sorry there's a few of you feeling rough, :( after a weekend of feeling the worst I've felt (and stopping in bed for most of it), I actually feel fine now - almost too fine, not much nausea at all, even went back to the gym this week.

Saw the MW today, who said it's normal at about 10 weeks as everything settles down, phew.. fed up of worrying about about pains and then lack of pains, and then feeling sick and then worrying about lack of sickness, I feel like I'm on a rollarcoaster...! Blush

Midwife was absolutely lovely, much to my relief after reading/hearing so many horror stories, she had a cuppa and took me through everything, and answered all my stupid questions, and then reassured me that they weren't stupid and to ask away.. phew (again).

just over a week till 12 week scan, can't come soon enough. Ballinderrymum I hope the time between now and Tues flies by for you x

Angel786 · 13/01/2012 12:39

ballinderry big hugs!

peas good luck, hope all goes well x

glad (sorry!?) a few people are out of breath like me! Am meant to do a presentation in April, no idea how I will be able to speaK!

PoppyS34 · 13/01/2012 12:41

ooh, i forgot about the breathlessness, I get that a bit too - apparently due to the extra blood and work the heart is doing, or something like that...

Is there anything which isn't affected by pregnancy? :o :)

Lovemarmite · 13/01/2012 12:44

Good luck peas - hope it goes well!

Glad to hear you're feeling better too PoppyS I am feeling the same - not much sickness, although was gagging earlier whilst hungry. Yesterday I was really tired and looked pale.

Quite glad another week is rolling by, it seems that time is going slowly at the moment...

HopefulPositive · 13/01/2012 13:12

hi everyone and thanks for welcoming me. My stats are HopefulPositive (31) DD 13/08/2011.

I'm nearly 10 weeks, I had really bad breathlessness for the first 5 or 6 weeks and now it is better but I still have to remember not to try and bound up the stairs! I also had a sore stomach, really tender and uncomfortable. Again this has gone now but my doctor said I had a tilted uterus which caused it but it has now probably corected itself and nothing to worry about.

Good luck with your scans people. Mine is in 2 weeks time which feels like a lifetime away!

mrsmamma · 13/01/2012 13:56

Got my scan date which is Thursday afternoon! I'll be 13 weeks but yeay can't wait! Fit in well for work as I'm off anyway yeay x

Lovemarmite · 13/01/2012 14:01

Yeah great news mrsmamma! Hey you're into the second trimester - congratulations on that one too!

mrsmamma · 13/01/2012 14:04

Thanks lovemarmite yes it feels good to be a third through just can't wait for my scan to be reassured! I had one at 9 weeks and all was good but have no symptoms apart from being a cry baby x

Lovemarmite · 13/01/2012 14:16

Hee hee, yes a cry baby - me too!
I'm seeing the MIL tomorrow and she seems to always upset me by getting under my skin about something or other... just hope I can keep it together if she says something I get stressed at.

ballinderrymum · 13/01/2012 15:37

mrsmama i have done nothing but cry this day, DD is at MIL today - and DH told me to sit down and watch a DVD just to take it easy, nothing too sad so i thought i'd watch Transformers 2 - i cried my eyes out when one of the robots died! there is no hope for me!

i was stressing as my pregnancy feelings had subsided but having read what poppy wrote and the volume of tears today i feel a wee bit more reassured - come on tuesday!!

I can't wait to hear how everyone is getting on with the scans - the 1st part drags until the scan and it seems like we are getting somewhere with the first scan appointments coming around.

lovemarmite i know how you feel about being scared of seeing anyone incase they push you over the edge, it's a lovely day here and DH said to go for a walk and i wouldn't incase i saw anyone and started crying over nothing! it was bad enough dropping DD off at school and then crying down the phone to DH in the car park infront of everyone Blush

NathanDetroit · 13/01/2012 18:23

Yay for scan date mrsmamma.
Thanks for sharing your symptoms hopefulpositive been feeling like I'm going to have this painful abdomen until I give birth so glad to hear there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

At work today I was staggering around and my manager was like "oh, you poor thing. none of my friends' pregnancies brought it all back to me like you are!" so glad to know my symptoms are having the desired affect. ;)

How are everyone else's DH's?? I think mine is getting sick of looking after me. Called him at work today and when he realised it was me he SIGHED!!! That wasn't very nice. Looking after people really doesn't come naturally to him and up to last night he was really doing a great job. I hope I'm feeling better soon as I'm beginning to feel like I'm imposing on his computer gaming and slobbing time... Hmm

NathanDetroit · 13/01/2012 18:24

That should be DP's really.

Angel786 · 13/01/2012 18:36

Phew mrsmamma not long to go now, glad you've got the date through!

Dh is being tolerant... I'm v moody / snappy compared to normal, I think.

We now get three scans at uclh, one at 12, 20 and 35 weeks. It used to be just two (12 and 20).

My boss has now said several times 'oh you're so slim, I always forget how slim you are because I've only known you pregnant' dreading telling her actually I am again...!

Exciting about the scan mrsmamma!
I ended up calling the hospital and I begged them to move my appointment forward (because it was after 13 weeks) and they actually did (to my amazement). So I also have my scan on Thursday- EEK. So fingers crossed everything will be ok and can tell people next weekend. Some of my friends are very bemused I won't eat the raw stuff at sushi- it's normally my fave.

Angel- have you used uch before? How was your experience? It's actually my closest hospital but decided on the Whittington in the end because of old family ties.

Also- can I be added to the stats :)

Hiya rind yes I had dd there in dec 2010 and can't fault the care and assistance for delivers. ESP as I had a tricky birth ( won't go into details as don't want to scare anyone! ) but hospital was fab an dd and I were both fine in the end. The birthing wing is all pretty new and nice too, and security is tight. The ante natal is ok but they lost my blood a few times Hmm. I'd recommend them!

I've been to my friends baby shower tonight (another one) and they did nothing but talk about child birth!!! Sounds awful!

My other friend is in labour now having contractions about 4 mins apart n is struggling a bit apparently, she has been going since 6 am though! When she text me n told me her waters had broke this morning I couldn't stop crying! I'm very emotional and now dreading labour lol!
