No sign of any baby action. But since this is our first, I guess it's not unusual for the baby to be late. Been for a walk, am thinking curry for dinner and then maybe, you know, nudge-nudge wink-wink...

Hi caringforpod, I'm due in 2 days but can't see baby coming anytime soon! Mind you, went ten days over with my first so I'm clearly being optimistic hoping baby will be here on time! Had lots of period like pains and am booked for a sweep at the end of next week but hope not to make it that far! Walking loads and been bouncing on my ball but it's time to move things up a notch now! Good luck, hope you don't have to wait too long for your little one!

bringmesunshine2009 · 29/04/2011 20:57

I'm due Monday. No sign AT ALL. A bit of an ache in the night but nothing to write home about. No show, baby still under my ribs, no contractions. BAH. Still not prepared the house, but can't be blimmin bothered. This is my second, DS was induced (sort of) had a bit of a sweep and my waters broken then hey presto at 40+2. So if this one is left to it's own devices will be in there for a month I'm sure. Good luck girls! x

Leilababyno1 · 29/04/2011 22:58

Hi ladies,

I am due tomorrow. Exactly the same as most of you, no symtoms or signs that labour may be near. It's also my first, so really hoping I don't go too much over. Got a sweep booked for Wednesday, if still no baby. The first of my NCT buddies had her baby on Tuesday just gone, she was only 40+2- so not bad at all, she didn't make her sweep. Hopefully I won't make mine!

Fingers crossed we can all celebrate the arrival of our bundles soon!!

HipHopOpotomus · 29/04/2011 23:26

Hello - I was due yesterday. Had 2 sweeps, 3 lots of accupuncture and nothing. Feeling a little crampy in the evenings all week. I'm hoping next day or 2. Best of luck everyone

Leilababyno1 · 30/04/2011 13:32

Due TODAY! No news, no signs...blah! Plan on carrying on as normal, going out for the day tomorrow and gonna have an attempt at a grooming evening tonight- if I can still reach to shave my legs/paint toe nails etc...

Anyone got any labour/baby news??

Milkybrew · 30/04/2011 13:50

No news here. Nothing at all going on! Have spent the morning batch cooking to pass the time as I am so bored waiting! Not due until tomorrow so not sure why Im even expecting anything to happen!
Am off out for a walk in the sunshine to try to encourage her out! Then I think a grooming evening is a good idea!
Do any of you know whether you're having a boy or a girl? Have you picked names?!
Good luck-hope there's some baby news soon!

Leilababyno1 · 30/04/2011 13:57

Sounds like a plan Milkybrew!

I am having a girl, think we're going with the name Isla....but it still may change.

Think some bouncing on the birth ball is in order today, although at my last MW appointment baby was 'back to back', so not sure if it's wise to let her head engage further. Although, she may have shifted- not sure.

Think I'm going to go and get a big piece of the homemade carrot cake my mum made yesterday- feeling a bit sorry for myself! ;-)

CaringForPod · 30/04/2011 18:11

Nothing new here either. Trekked into and round town and had a bounce on my ball. Can feel him wriggling him around in there, just wish he felt like popping out to say hello!

We're having a boy, or so we've been told. We've got some names picked, just hope they suit him when he does decide to make an appearance. Probably going to be a Matthew.

By the way, why is bouncing on the ball meant to be good? I've been doing it diligently, but no idea why really!

Oh, and sorry to ask, but do you always have a show? Just I haven't had one, and don't know if that means labour is still a while away...

LittleMilla · 30/04/2011 18:19

Was due last Monday, now 40+5. Had two sweeps and induction is booked for next Friday. Good news is that they've said they'll simply need to break my waters as everything else is good to go.

Come back to parent's for a change of scenary - so bored of London and our flat!

DH is trying to help by reminding me that our first EDD was 2nd May, so I've just got to hope that the growth scan was wrong. And instead of wrong date I simply have a hulking baby in here.

No idea what we're having. Looking back-to-back and baby still shuffling around loads. Which is reassuring, but flipping uncomfortable.

Leilababyno1 · 30/04/2011 18:32

CaringForPod- bouncing on the ball is suppose to be good for getting the baby into an optimal position for birth, it helps allign the spine. It also helps the babies head to engage, which in turn puts pressure on the cervix- helping it to soften and thin! Which is definitely what we want...

Re 'the show', apparently a lot of people don't have one until labour is actually underway. So I wouldn't worry about it.

LittleMilla- hope you go before induction date, you probably will, you still have some time yet before Friday arrives..

CaringForPod · 30/04/2011 18:35

Ah, that makes sense! Thanks Leila Smile. Good news about the show, that's one less thing to worry about then!

Hi, just wanted to send sympathetic vibes to all of you waiting ladies. I'm 40+4 now and getting thoroughly fed up. Nothing happening at all other than lots of uncomfortable BHs. Sweep booked for Tuesday. I can't walk very far anymore and don't want to travel too far from home and I'm even finding sitting and lying uncomfortable most of the time so I'm not quite sure what to do with myself all day long. It's the not knowing when anything will happen that is most annoying though... good luck all, hope the wait isn't too long...

CaringForPod · 30/04/2011 18:47

I feel your pain cheeseandcrackers. I know the baby will come when he's ready and I should be enjoying the time to relax while I can, but I just can't!

Hope you make it before Tuesday. Got my sweep on Wednesday, when I'll be 5 days overdue.

Keep us posted!

Milkybrew · 30/04/2011 19:42

Hi everyone, still no sign here, after what was the most uncomfortable walk ever this afternoon!

I feel a bit odd this evening, sort of unsettled. Maybe its because my due date is almost here?!

I completely agree cheesesndcrackers-the not knowing when it's going to happen is the worst part!

Leila-love the name Isla, it was on our shortlist but unfortunately sounds a bit strange with our surname!

Hopefully we've all not got long to wait now before we meet these babys!

cheeseandcrackers · 01/05/2011 08:06

Woohoo! Had a bit of a show this morning! I know that some people have one weeks before labour and others don't have it until labour actually starts so it doesn't mean much but hopefully it's a good sign that something is happening. Trying not to get too excited yet...

I love the name Isla too!

Hope you all manage to enjoy a relaxing day in the sun today even if nothing happens on the baby front, you don't know when you'll next get a chance just to sit around and do what you like all day again (if it's your first baby anyway..).

jellyhead188 · 01/05/2011 08:54

oh I'm due today too!!! hope we meet our babies soon!

Milkybrew · 01/05/2011 09:00

Cheeseandcrackers-fingers crossed your show is the start of something! With my first had a show around lunch time and contractions started that evening!

Today is finally my due date! Woohoo!

Got period type feelings this morning but nothing else going on! Had a really good nights sleep so feeling refreshed! Can't be much longer now!

ilovesprouts · 01/05/2011 09:03

i was 12 days over due ,my dd had her son the day she was supposed to be induced good luck :)

cheeseandcrackers · 01/05/2011 12:02

waters broken too now.. no contractions though. Happy due date Milkybrew!

Milkybrew · 01/05/2011 12:14

WOW! Congrats Cheeseandcrackers! Sending positive labour vibes! Not long now until you meet your little one! How exciting!

funnylittlekaty · 01/05/2011 15:19

Due today too. No sign. Feel a bit grumpy but trying not to be...where are these babies?!?! Good luck everyone.

Milkybrew · 01/05/2011 16:47

Any news Cheeseandcrackers?

Anyone else getting any positive labour signs? Nothing happening here! Looks like my due date will pass uneventfully!

Ginger4justice · 01/05/2011 16:55

Hi everyone, so glad its not just me.

Due date was friday, I know it's my first and so it's likely to be late, but so want to meet him/her. Not tried a birthing ball yet so might borrow my friends. Definitely at the stage where anything is worth a try.

I'm just so impatient!!

LittleMilla · 01/05/2011 17:49

Think I have got start of show. Sorry if TMI but when I wipe there's a bit of clear jelly/snot like discharge. Sort of like the same stuff I get when ovulating (I am like clockwork with these things!). Just not much though...whihc makes me wonder??

Am now 40+6 and sincerely hoping that things kick off tonight. Going to pub with DH in a bit...a leaisurely 15 minute walk.

Our first EDD was 2nd May and it was only at 12 week scan that they put me on 25th April. So psychologically I am telling myself that tomorrow is really my EDD!!
