No sign of any baby action. But since this is our first, I guess it's not unusual for the baby to be late. Been for a walk, am thinking curry for dinner and then maybe, you know, nudge-nudge wink-wink...

OOOO action! Good luck ladies! I am going for a walk, to get a pedicure lol.x

4pudding · 10/05/2011 19:09

Still here, still getting crampy feelings. Had a lovely chat with my doula from first birth, who can fit me in if it happens this week :-)

Going to have an early night and hope things progress while I'm asleep!

Good luck ladies!

TotorosOcarina · 10/05/2011 21:35

fingers crossed 4 pudding

can't believe I'm at midwives gaain tomorrow, when they made me an 11th may appointment i was like 'pah - won't need that!!' :(

Am scared they won't do another sweep and then i wont see them again till next wed - when i'll be 41+2 to THEM, but my dates will take me to 42+2 Shock

i just hope things kick off soon, i really can't bear it anymore

Milkybrew · 11/05/2011 07:42

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to read through the thread but just wanted you to know I am thinking of you all! Hope I'll read that some more babys have arrived!
LO feeds almost constantly, but then she is a very big girl! Managed 5 hours of unbroken sleep last night so I'm feeling great this morning!
Will read through when I get 5 mins!

TotorosOcarina · 11/05/2011 08:20

milky :) so happy for you :)

am at midwives at 11, don't know what to expect, don't know if the will do another sweep??! Am hoping its one of 2 midwifes who i love and praying its not the one i hate! lol

StiffyByng · 11/05/2011 11:27

Hurray, Milky!

I had sweep 3 today, at 41+1. Cervix a bit softer but still not doing much birth related. Two midwives and a student turned up to talk me through the implications of refusing induction at 42 weeks. They're not unsupportive-told me to read up on research about it online and that the risks are there to be balanced with risks of induction etc.- but they won't do a HB after then. I think all this stuff is routine but it does give the impression that they think I won't go into labour in the next week. I hope that's not true. Feeling a bit despondent. On the other hand, over the last three weeks, I've gone from being on crutches for SPD to almost pain free, so I'm going to risk a walk. If it's OK, I can do the same every day. The head remains at 3 or 4/5, which can't be persuading my cervix to do much.

I have everything crossed for you, TO.

4pudding · 11/05/2011 15:49

Hello, I'm still here too! sigh

Milkybrew · 11/05/2011 17:06

Oh ladies, I really feel for you! Just had a quick catch up.
Totoros-how was the midwife this morning?
Stiffybyng- don't get despondent, at this stage you could go literally any minute!
Leila-good luck for your induction tomorrow!
4pudding-I was thinking that you were going to be next but see you are still here, can't be too long now!
Littlemilla-glad things are going well with your LO!

baby is nocturnal! I'm so tired but she's worth it! Attempted to leave the house today but only got as far as end of the road-it was feeding time again! Poor boobs are so sore as can't get the latch quite right, we'll get there!

Hope next time I check back all your babies are here! Got to go, she's hungry again! Confused

TotorosOcarina · 11/05/2011 19:32

Good-luck to everyone else!

StiffyByng · 11/05/2011 20:38

That's fantastic, TO! You obviously put in loads and loads of work beforehand with all those BHs!

Good luck, Leila. I'm sure you'll have a baby by the end of tomorrow, let alone Friday.

4pudding · 11/05/2011 22:08

Thankyou for coming back Milkybrew! And for the words of encouragement.

Wonderful news Totoros! Sounds like an idyllic birth :)

Good luck for tomorrow Leila, will be thinking of you.

Congratulations Totoros that sounds like a great birth as well.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Leila, Good luck!

4Pudding Things will happen soon for you, maybe you will wake up in labour and can have your doula then Smile

MW for me tomorrow and scan Friday so will see what they say. Sorry if TMI but been getting a weird milky discharge so now paranoid I have Thrush and I really don't want it to be passed on to baby Sad

Milkybrew · 12/05/2011 08:13

Good luck today leila!

Everyone else, hang on in there-it won't be long now! Thinking of you all!

funnylittlekaty · 12/05/2011 08:16

Hiya! What a carry on I've had but basically came in at 6am on Tuesday, contractions started at 2am. Laboured for 34 hours and eventually got him out via section yesterday at 1313. He's called Nye (short for Aneirin) and weighs 8pounds 10. He's a peach and I'm so happy. Good luck to all of the rest you, mummies and mummies to be! Xxx

saldoozer · 12/05/2011 08:48

Congratualtions Torotoros Grin
i've been following your posts as am also stuck in latent labour limbo
Its good to know it all works eventually Smile

StiffyByng · 12/05/2011 08:49

Congratulations, FLK! What a great name.

Cowboy, I am (sadly!) a bit of a thrush expert and that doesn't sound right to me. I think it's probably just pre-labour discharge.

I had what I think was a bloody show last night followed by an evening of more or less constant uncomfortable cramping. I woke a few times in the night with cramps I breathed through too. And I think my stomach was contracting for the first time. This morning things have quietened down. Anyone reckon I can get this baby out in the next five days?? I know some people on here had all those symptoms for weeks!

Also, the baby went absolutely crazy last night during the cramps but has been really quiet since. I'm tempted to page the midwife so someone can just listen to the heartbeat (that's what they do round here, rather than the hospital). But am I worrying stupidly?

4pudding · 12/05/2011 11:35

I am lying next to my baby! :)

Woke at 4am baby here at 7:30am.

Incredible VBAC experience!

Going to have a nap now. Xx

hiphop lovely to see you'd checked back and to hear that you and DD are doing so well!

Sorry it's all so too the point but she's waking up! X

cowboylover · 12/05/2011 14:09

Fantastic to come on to some birth announcements!

Brilliant name FLK! I live in the valleys so he's a total local legend here Smile

4Pudding Can I claim that as a prediction?! Nice to hear of a fantastic experience.

You both have made me feel loads better today and back into excited mode now wanting to meet my baby rather than just being fed up!

Thanks styffy I have been a bit obsessed with it since I had it bad a few months back.

bringmesunshine2009 · 12/05/2011 18:02

My baby came last night at 8.44! Easy labour didn't hurt a jot was cruising to 8cm, then he got stuck. Manual rotation yuk, 4 hrs to reposition. Why? He was 10.2lbs!!! Wowsers!

Congrats one and all so pleased to see so many wonderful and positive birth experiences. Enjoy your babies ladies!! Xxx

DMCWelshCakes · 12/05/2011 18:15

Well I did give birth in the end. :) Very unexpectedly & in record time on Tuesday at 40 + 3.

Went in with reduced fetal movements on Monday afternoon, fully expecting to be sent home again after some monitoring. Instead was kept in & induced. Was told it would take ages for the pessary to take effect - wrong again. Had mild tightenings almost immediately followed by proper contractions 7hrs after they started. By 9 hrs I was on delivery suite & 3cm dilated. I asked for an epidural but had to wait for the anaethetist. He arrived 40 minutes after my first request & tried to get the epi in, only for me to yell that I was sitting on something.

Turned out to be my son, born after 42 minutes of established labour. Grin

And yes, I did carry out the time penalties as planned, even for family members. [We need an emoticon for evil grinning on here...]

Congratulations to everyone else & good luck to those still waiting.
