No sign of any baby action. But since this is our first, I guess it's not unusual for the baby to be late. Been for a walk, am thinking curry for dinner and then maybe, you know, nudge-nudge wink-wink...

Its horrid isn't it?!

I saw my friends son the other day, hes already 9 months old but he felt so tiny compared to my youngest who is 2.4.

I just kept thinking if he feels tiny at 9 months whats this little one going to be like?!

I've just set up my pram, I'd like to take it for a walk but would look like a loon!! Grin

I'm hoping it will somehow intice him out.

After being sure last wed he would be here within the week I now feel like he will never come out.

Everythings slowed down. Less braxton hicks, show seems to have stopped.

I bet if they checked me my cervix will have sealed back up!!

gah!

cowboylover · 05/05/2011 12:56

Perhaps the BH have stopped to give you a rest before the big day?

Going to see MW later and see if she can maybe do an internal if she won't do a sweep as I had 3 hours of regular pain and cramping last night which drove me and DH crazy so want to know if anything has changed or moved?

TotorosOcarina · 05/05/2011 12:58

thats a positive way of seeing it cowboy :)

what day are you on today?

cowboylover · 05/05/2011 15:21

I am only 38+4 but I have a liver condition so right from the start they said I should be prepared from 30 weeks as unlikely to carry full term or they would keep an eye on me and enduce me early but its all been going well so a bit shocked they are leaving me to it!

MW had a good feel around and on Tuesday she was still totally free and today fully engaged so that's probably what the pains where last night and apparently a favourable cervix so its all good!

Seams quiet here today so hopeully lots a ladies in labour Smile

yoey · 05/05/2011 15:49

Hello ladies! I'm still here, 40+6, no signs, almost too depressed to type. Tried bringing things on by walking to vote but it just made me feel sick- not sure what that's all about!

funnylittlekaty · 05/05/2011 16:19

I'm here. Not in labour. Just trying to get this moving by walking to vote and then into town. Booked a pedicure tomorrow to cheer me up. I think I'll be pregnant for ever. Sigh. Good luck everyone! X

Leilababyno1 · 05/05/2011 18:02

Hi ladies,

I'm also still with bump- 40+5 today. Attempted sweep yesterday doesn't seem to have done anything. My cervix was closed at the time, so not really surprised! Did have sex with DH last night to try and move things along, but was very uncomfortable- am getting desperate now! No offence to DH...Grin

I have been for a massive walk today, and done loads of birth ball bouncing trying to get her head further engaged (yesterday she was about half way)....cause I need to start dilating asap in order for them to have a second go at a sweep tomorrow. Even 1 cm would do....Sad I'm not greedy...Grin

Very fed up now, but trying to hold on to the fact that labour 'could' start at any moment, even if my cervix isn't 'ripe' yet. Induction is booked for the 12th May, but really hoping I won't need it!!

Good-luck to everyone else, at least we are in this together!

TotorosOcarina · 05/05/2011 19:14

Hi ladies,

am having some niggly little pains here, in my back and all over bump.

Not going to mention it in real life yet but having one now and semms quite contaction like!!

Milkybrew · 05/05/2011 19:16

Hi everyone, I'm still here aswell. Baby seems to have visibly dropped today, was about 2 5ths engaged last time I saw midwife so maybe now head is fully engaged! Was really uncomfortable walking today! Be interesting to see what midwife says tomorrow and if the sweep is successful! I'm keeping my fingers crossed because nothing else is getting her moving!

Milkybrew · 05/05/2011 19:18

Oooh totoros! I hope labour is starting for you! Sending positive labour vibes!
I have nothing this evening, few BH, that's about it!

HipHopOpotomus · 05/05/2011 23:36

Oooh sounds very promising! And exciting :)

TotorosOcarina · 06/05/2011 05:50

f&$££" Angry

AfterI logged off got some really bad pains, put DD to bed and was wincing, had a few real contractions - they brought memories back of putting DS1 to bed when I just started with DS2!

Got out of bed, came down stairs, was red as a beetroot and felt shaky, constant backache.

Called my mum to warn her to be on standby.

DH ordered himself a curry as hed not eaten and i went for a bath.

Everything bloody stopped :(

I went to bed and woke up at 4am, not a twinge and have just scrubbed the kitchen top to bottom.

So i have a very clean kitchen but no bloody baby!!

HipHopOpotomus · 06/05/2011 06:16

Keep the faith it will be soon. Try to relax, go for another gentle walk. Fingers crossed (legs open) for a Fridays child Toto!

bringmesunshine2009 · 06/05/2011 06:51

Good luck TO, am still here too and everyone coming up on week 41. Got Drs appt today. In the evening I am all about the aches/tummy upset/show but by morning not a sausage. BAH

Told DH the baby wouldn't come until DS1's room was decorated as I felt it was holding me back haha. Room decorated no baby ha!

pissedrightoff · 06/05/2011 09:14

Morning all, well Wednesday mornings plan of sex and then cleaning the kitchen must have worked as I went into labour at 5.30pm and had my gorgeous boy at 1.17am yesterday. Got out of hospital last night, struggling a bit with breastfeeding but will speak to the miswife for help when she gets here later.

Hope everyone's babies arrive soon, will keep checking back. :)

funnylittlekaty · 06/05/2011 11:03

Ah!!! Fantastic news pissedrightoff! Well done and a big congrats. Hope all is well with you and your little one. I've already eaten half a pineapple this morning. Has it had any effect? Has it buggery? Going to walk to get my pedicure, see if I can encourage it out. Not holding my breath though! Good luck today ladies. Can't be long now..... X

Milkybrew · 06/05/2011 12:06

Hi everyone!

Congratulations pissedrightoff! So pleased for you!

Totoros-sorry that it all just stopped. It's happened to me 3 times now and is no fun. I had another episode last night, this time even more painful than the last. 4 contractions in 1 hour, went up to lay on bed as I was so uncomfortable and then nothing!

Have woken up this morning and am getting BH one after another with period pain in my back. Baby is also very active which is unusual at this time-she's a late riser usually! Got my sweep this afternoon, a bit nervous as I found it uncomfortable last time. Just hope everything is favourable and it does the trick!

Bringmesunshine- I've felt like that, needing to get things done incase they were subconsciously stopping me going into labour! Silly things like defrost freezer and scrub the conservatory so it's spotless for after baby arrives and we have visitors! Oh and choosing a name! Just need the baby now!

Good luck today ladies, these babies will be here soon as hiphop and pissedrightoff have proven!

yoey · 06/05/2011 14:20

Week 41 and today I had a baby! My method was to eat a hugely expensive lunch yesterday (dh & I have spent a fortune on 'last meals') then spend the evening throwing it up and the other-end too (sorry tmi). Then be confused by cramps until it was almost birth on the pavement outside with 2 neighbours at 2am! I've gained such support from you ladies recently- it's even helped me to slightly ease up on taking it all out on dh. Thank you. I'll check in to see how you're all doing.

Milkybrew · 06/05/2011 14:23

Just had my not entirely successful sweep-cervix soft and short, about 1cm dilated but quite posterior so midwife wasn't able to get right in there, so to speak! I did however have a contraction immediately after. Asked about these episodes of contractions I keep having, she said it was great, they had shortened and softened the cervix and should mean a shorter labour. I wonder though how much of what she said was just her being positive and reassuring?! Also head is as low as it can go without being out!

She also suggested that next time contractions start I use nipple stimulation as a means of keeping them going-she has a very high success rate with this so worth a try!

I'm feeling a bit more positive as at least I feel like ive really tried to get things moving today and it was great hearing babys heartbeat as that's always reassuring.

How's everyone else feeling? It can't be long for us now ladies!

Milkybrew · 06/05/2011 14:27

Yoey- huge congratulations! That's fantastic!
Enjoy your lovely little one! I'm so jealous but at the same time it gives me hope that it can't be long now before my baby is here!

yoey · 06/05/2011 14:44

MilkyBrew that's great news! Btw my book says do 1 nipple at a time as 2 at same time can distress foetus. You could see if there's any colostrum in there too, I wondered if that might encourage mine out but it appears only food poisoning did the trick, typical of me, that.

funnylittlekaty · 06/05/2011 16:38

Well done yoey! They are coming out thick and fast now aren't they? I'm off for a "last meal" tonight. Maybe that'll do the trick! Big big congrats. If only this little one would stop having hiccups and pop out to say hello! I've marched round today and eaten an entire pineapple. Fingers crossed for tonight! X

Milkybrew · 06/05/2011 16:47

Funnylittlekaty-I was told that to get enough of the chemical in pineapple, in a large enough concentration, you need to eat 10 whole pineapples, core and all in under an hour!

funnylittlekaty · 06/05/2011 17:07

Good grief. That sounds a bit much. Maybe operation pineapple should be abandoned. It sounds like a pregnant womans pie eating contest. Ready steady...go!
