No sign of any baby action. But since this is our first, I guess it's not unusual for the baby to be late. Been for a walk, am thinking curry for dinner and then maybe, you know, nudge-nudge wink-wink...

Ooooh how exciting ladies, so glad things seem to moving along for a lot of you!

No news hear, my due date came and went.....Sad

40+1 now, hopefully something will happen soon! Sweep booked for Wednesday.

Milkybrew · 01/05/2011 18:57

Ooh nice to hear that things have started moving along for some of us! Gives me hope that it won't be long!

Feeling a bit fed up to see my due date come and go but really I know most babys don't come on their due date! Great to chat with other ladies in the same situation, especially as DH is also a bit fed up of waiting!

LittleMilla · 01/05/2011 19:08

Milky being nearly a week over has spurred my DH in to action...keeps on suggesting nookie!! I am like "eff off, let's not over do it, I am a little tender down there!". Managed a couple of times though - feeling like a flipping super hero Grin.

But yes, it's nice for things to start moving.

And if it helps guys...having an induction booked in does psychologically help a bit. I pretty much know that this time next week (at the very latest) I'll have my LO with me. Praying that all goes OK.

Milkybrew · 01/05/2011 20:18

Littlemilla, my midwife swears by sex to get things started, but I feel like a whale! DH assures me I look lovely however! So maybe that's the route I need to take next! Tried curry for dinner tonight, but all that's done is give me raging heartburn!
Hopefully they'll be some babies here before the long weekend is out!

yoey · 01/05/2011 20:36

I'm here too! Due 29th (was hoping for the ultimate in royal wedding avoidance), but like you LittleMilla my very first due date was 2nd May so I too am trying that psychological tactic on myself (not successfully). This is my third birth, first was a week late, second a week early so in my head I'm waaay overdue, however a midwife told me that the odd-number children are often the late ones!! I'm booked for a sweep next Sunday; where I live the protocol is to allow 12 days overdue before serious intervention. I can hardly care for myself now, let alone my toddler, so I'm hoping I won't go to 12 days. Good luck everyone.

HipHopOpotomus · 02/05/2011 02:35

I've been having irregular contractions all day. Starting to get more painful now - waking me up. Will try and sleep more now while I can.

TotorosOcarina · 02/05/2011 03:42

Good luck HipHop!

I am due tomorrow. Well my original DD was april 24th, then they moved me to May 9th!! But by my dates, calculations and what-not I am sticking with tomorrow.

Been having pains for days, show etc ... and last day or so its tailed off to nothing :(

It was my nephews birthday party today so I had a wee bounce on the castle!! Doesn't seemed to have helped. Had a hot curry too but now I've just got bad heartburn and can't sleep.

Think I'm going to do big walk tomorrow and maybe a bit of time with DH in the evening, if I can bear it!! Grin

cheeseandcrackers · 02/05/2011 07:46

Contractions started at 2am and am now 4cm dilated and in established labour, 6 days after my due date! Just come home from hospital for a few hours though as there's not much chance of the baby being born this morning, hopefully today though...

I thoroughly recommend a birthing ball, most comfortable way to sit in the last few weeks and helps to get the baby in the right position too.

bringmesunshine2009 · 02/05/2011 08:02

Due today!

Had a bt of a show and some achneyness yesterday. Noting today. Woke up 1 hour 30 mins ago, baby still hasn't moved, I am beginning to freak out. He stopped moving for 18 hours when I was 32 weeks, had a monitor and he woke up and became the most active baby in world contorting wildly in my tummy. The doctor thought I was nuts.

He also stopped moving when I had flu at 20 weeks. If I go to hospital today for lack of movement they will induce me. But I don't want to be induced, but at the same time am worried.

SpotsMumSally · 02/05/2011 08:52

Sorry for interrupting ladies, I just saw this thread in active. Just to say bringmesunshine please go to the hospital if you are in any way worried. If everything is fine then they may not induce you.

Hope you are either having movements or on your way! Good luck.

bringmesunshine2009 · 02/05/2011 10:41

I lay down and counted ten movements in an hour, so am less worried. Will have another lie down and count at lunch. I think the movements are still there, but less strong IYKWIM. Maybe he is just sleepy in preparation for birth! Thank you though. My midwife always says go if you are at all worried, but the two times I have they've looked at me like I'm crazy and write "Very ACTIVE" in my notes!! Aggrah

Milkybrew · 02/05/2011 11:06

Morning everyone! Hi to the new ladies that have joined us!

So I'm now 40+1! last night I had some really uncomfortable feelings, like baby was burrowing down into my pelvis! She was also very active with knees and elbows poking out everywhere!

Have woken up this morning and nothing! Some little movements-I'm guessing she wore herself out last night and is also in a different position.

Cheeseandcrackers-fantastic to hear that you are in established labour! Hope it all goes brilliantly and it won't be too long before baby is here!

Hiphop-are you still having contractions? Any news?

Totoros-happy due date!

Bringmesunshine-your baby sounds like mine, I have moments of panic where I think I've not felt movement, but once I lay down and relax she's like an octopus. Earlier on in the pregnancy, I tripped and fell onto my bump. I went to hospital for monitoring and honestly she was going crazy in there! The midwives were stood round the machine laughing at the rate of movements. Needless to say I was discharged as all fine with very active baby written all over the print out!

Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed for some baby news soon!

TotorosOcarina · 02/05/2011 11:31

Got back ache and cramping tuimmy now but not sure if its curry related Grin

sunshine, you should get checked out if you are worried! x

LittleMilla · 02/05/2011 11:32

Eurgh, 41 weeks today. Had a complete meltdown this morning. Woke up at 5:30am with period pains, it was light so decided to get up and bounce on ball. Also, keep on getting waves of sickness when I wake up early...so best to eat.

Up until about 8am, when I went and woke up DH and had a cry on him as nothing else has happened. Slept for another couple of hours as nothing had developed (despite bouncing).

Woken up again and have had more 'show'...but it's still not bloody, so not sure if it really is? Much more than yesterday and very snot-like in consistency. Sorry if TMI.

Just fed up. Got a sweep on wed and induction booked for Friday. But, and I know this sounds petulant, I want my baby now. DH goes back to work tomorrow and the thought of being on my own again makes me feel so sad Sad. Also utterly scared stiff that LO is going to die between now and Friday.

ARGH. Wise-words, please help!

xx

Leilababyno1 · 02/05/2011 11:32

Hello ladies,

So still lots of active advancements for a lot of you, but no babies as of yet-please keep posting though! Hopefully we will have some new arrivals before the week is out!

No news here, am 40+2 today...

Milkybrew- My baby is still very active, lots of burrowing/grinding type movements in my pelvis too (very odd sensation, feels like baby is trying to squirm her way out!)

Also had a little bit of period type cramping yesterday when I was out but nothing since...Sad

Aaaaaah, just trying to keep busy and active to keep my mind off things. Got sweep on Wednesday, so hoping that will get things going if no developements by then.

Bringmesunshine- hope baby starts moving more soon, get down to the day assessment unit if things start to really slow again, am sure they won't induce you if all is ok. Sure it is!

Cheeseandcrackers- Very exciting! Good-luck and keep us posted!

Leilababyno1 · 02/05/2011 11:42

LittleMilla- sorry to hear that you're feeling down. It is disheartening when you thinks things are moving and then they stop again..

Maybe your baby, just needs a little more encouragement to make her move? Your next sweep might just be the thing to get things into action. The discharge definitely sounds like your mucous plug coming away and it is a very good sign that things should start moving for you soon!

Keep strong and try to stay positive. If nothing else you know that you will definitely be holding your baby by the time the weekend is out! Not long now.. How exciting!

cheeseandcrackers · 02/05/2011 12:50

LittleMilla I know it's easier said than done but try to relax as much as possible. The chances of anything happening to your baby before Friday are very very slim, probably no more so than during any other week of your pregnancy. Apparently 75% of babies are born after their due date, and there's a reason that a pregnancy is considered to be completely normal up to 42 weeks. The fact that you are having more show is a very good sign that things are happening, it doesn't always have to be bloody.

My contractions are getting quite intense but they've been about 45s long every 4 mins for the last 6ish hours so I don't think this is going to be a quick labour. It's a bit weird to want to be in more pain but the sooner I get it over with the better. I've been up since 1:45am and am exhausted...

funnylittlekaty · 02/05/2011 19:17

Hi there lateys. Any news? I've been having on and off achiness sort of period pain ish but nothing really to speak of. Had a curry last night, a whole pineapple today and am trying to convince DH he might be feeling romantic later but think I'm on a hiding to nothing with that plan. It's a logistical nightmare. My NCT teacher said that the prostaglandins in swimmers that might bring it on are best absorbed through the gut! Lucky old DH! Am only a day overdue but it's the not knowing that's driving me crackers. Don't think I even get a sweep til 41 weeks. Aargh.
littlemilla have had same thing as you in the snot like stuff. No blood at all though and have had it on and off for a few days. Hasn't led to anything. Hope you are feeling better. I know they'll come when they are ready but waiting for babies is torture! xx

funnylittlekaty · 02/05/2011 19:18

PS Cheeseandcrackers, hope you are ok...keep us posted xx

yoey · 02/05/2011 19:36

Thank you so much OP for starting this thread, it's the only thing keeping my mind from running off down the road with no clothes on screaming and arms flailing. I'm 40+3 and tried going for a walk today (yes despite having a toddler I've managed to forget when I last left the house; DH is in full charge of toddler). Nothing happened except I'm now even more tired than I was before and I have pulling pain over the bottom of my bump due to the weight pulling down. I have trouble knowing what is a BH and what is baby's movements- she doesn't half stretch herself tight. I admire you cheeseandcrackers for being able not only to type whilst in labour but even to sympathise and send consoling words to others!!! I couldn't speak and just made weird & embarrassing wobbling movements with my head at 1cm last time I went into labour! You're a goddess.

Milkybrew · 02/05/2011 19:40

Hi everyone! Still doesn't seem to be anything going on here-braxton hicks, period pain and more achey borrowing into my pelvis but no show or sign of real labour! I'm getting a bit fed up now of not knowing what's happening, everytime I get an episode I think is this it?! But it's all over an hour later! Oh well, will have a sweep in 4 days so maybe that will get things started.
Can't wait to hear some baby news-one of us has to deliver soon surely?!

LittleMilla · 02/05/2011 19:40

Thanks for kind words all. Had an OK afternoon, few wobbles but kept busy with friends and walking. Taught DH's god-daughter (who's 18 months) a new nursery rhyme...which was fun!

Bit more 'show' but still not bloody. Nothing much else going on, bit crampy on and off. Nothing that i'd consider to be a contraction though.

Cheeseandcrackers it all sounds like action stations for you. I hope that for your energy levels' sake things don't take too long. Rest up!

Trying to think of it in terms of sleeps funkylittlekaty. Bit like Christmas. So i've got four (maybe five) more sleeps until I meet my baby. Or if I was looking from my glass half empty POV, another four mornings of being disappointed that nothing kicked off in the night!

My mum made me laugh earlier. Has said that if it's a girl we ought to call her Patience - ha! Slightly ironic, but raised a smile!

x

cowboylover · 02/05/2011 21:52

Nice to read how everyone is doing, got period cramps and feel listed but that's it!

Would be nice to have a good nights sleep but cant see that happening for a while.

Going to the consultant for my last planned check up with him so hopefully he can wave a magic wand for me or at least let me know if there's any signs she's on the move!

pissedrightoff · 02/05/2011 22:02
