Quick Wave to All

Any news from Lia's camp yet??

owlbooty · 28/03/2011 10:24

Oooooh, two new babies on the thread! Massive congratulations Stuffed and Northern , Lia hope all is okay and the little 'un makes an appearance very soon, at least s/he let you go to the car boot first :)

I packed away my 'thin' clothes yesterday - it did make me a bit nervous in case the jinx pixies were watching but feckit, I am 21 + 1 weeks, gotta do it sometime. I have splashed out and treated myself to one decent maternity smock from Boden - the rest is going to be as cheap as I can manage, eBay here I come :)

lia66 · 28/03/2011 10:24

viv just sending you hugs really, it was never going to be easy I guess, but so long as you can find peace with it, do what you have to , to protect yourself.

loopsy good to see you getting organised,

so having lots of show today. I know with my professional head on that it could still be a while but it's a sign, (however small, :) ) that I won't actually be pregnant forever and possibly I'm gonna be in my timeframe for hb, (another week to go till they get fidgety at hosp yet) Grin

jolls hi

Hi to everyone else, Hope we are all well. :)

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 11:05

ooh good stuff re the show lia

Wombat33 · 28/03/2011 12:17

Morning all! Congratulations to Stuffed and Northern!!!

appleblossoms · 28/03/2011 14:35

Tell me about it nicks! DS is definitely at the mummy needing stage...made worse because DH has been poorly poorly for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Thankfully he's made a return to health now, so am looking forward to a little bit of rest over the coming weeks! and DS wasn't soooo keen about the race itself, think it went on a bit too long...although at least he let DH watch it all, so that's a good thing in itself Wink

ooh...exciting about the show lia..I'm updating my guestimate... tomorrow afternoon/early evening, beautiful textbook homebirth, baby weighing a delightful 9lb 3oz Grin

owl I spent yesterday sorting through clothes too...some of DS's baby clothes (the 6 month plus ones) and my non-maternity clothes are now vacuum bagged ready to go into the loft.... my wardrobe looks positively empty with just big fat person clothes left hanging in it! ah well...tis the way it shall be for a while yet, I'm definitely not one of these people who slip back into their pre-pregnancy skinny jeans to leave hospital in! Think if I'm back in them by christmas I'll be doing well!!

waves to jolls...something must be happening soon for Lia if you're here...you're like the easter bunny with thread babies! Grin

hope everyone else is doing well... I must go pretend to do some work. anyone else have severe baby brain at the moment???? I work from home and feel really naughty when I don't use my time efficiently, but the last few weeks I'm really struggling not to just sit and daydream when I'm supposed to be working!

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 16:09

Working from home today also apples,... so far i have managed to batch cook, mumsnet and bookface! Oh and watch sky news... oh and hoover....

DH is away this eve so just cos i feel energetic today might actually clean the bathroom and strip our bed!! Hurculean effort required for that let me tell you :)

So terrible, good job this is anon!!!

in between making a couple of calls sorting some problems and firing off a few emails.... yikes

appleblossoms · 28/03/2011 16:26

Oh nicks you've made me feel SO much better!! I've managed to read my emails and write one of many procedures for my maternity cover...in three hours! Blush
Definitely glad it's anonymous! Wink

Bows down to the fab-ness of loopys organising!! V envious of your energy with 3 youngsters!! I only managed all that today as Ds was in preschool;) sod the bathroom and the bed linen, enjoying a lovely soak instead :)

Ooh hope it's progressing nicely lia x

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 28/03/2011 20:55

had a stupidly productive day today, washed all my baby clothes, finished crocheting a jumper, bought lots more cloth wet wipes, organic baby wash, clary sage, lavender and tea tree oil, arnica, cleaned out the birthpool completely, tried to find a new tap attachment for it (unsuccessfully), sorted our airing cupboard out and bought some 100% wool so I can make some felt.
can you tell I'm nesting? :o :o
I kept moping around so much I've made myself a to do list and distributed the different things to time slots for this week. I WILL get organised before this baby arrives!
also, I cancelled my growth scan today, somehow it feels pointless, and my midwife's heart wasn't in it anyway, the hospital messed us around, and when it came to it today on the phone I told them to just leave it. gosh, talk about health professionals trying o guilt trip you!

loopy there must be something in the water :o

btw, I don't have a moses basket, never had one with DS.. do I need one? I have one of these: www.ambyhammock.co.uk/ and it was brilliant for him.

We don't have a crib either. We do have a sidecar cot, and it's awesome. It's like the ultimate co-sleeping option. And the best thing? We got it all for free :)

I'm considering buying a moby. I have a didymos, but that's a size 7 and a LOT of fabric for a newborn. I did use it with DS from about 4 months right up to when I got too pregnant to carry him, before I had a stretchy long bit of fabric, but it wasn't as supportive as a proper purpose made sling.

I got the special edition brown wavy one :)
To be honest, I could have got by with a size 6, but I liked having slightly longer tails, and definitely be able to do all the ties, and also for DH to be able to use it (not that he really did much).
I always FWCC, having tried some of the others none seemed supportive enough with my chunk of a boy. I did want to try cradle carry because I always found that the one thing about FWCC that annoyed me was that I had to constantly undo it and re-wrap it every time I took Raptor out of it.

for a moment I thought you were telling me to get a second hand moses basket, btw :o

any news from lia?

nickstermum · 29/03/2011 10:35

Ivy my dsis is a big slinger... in the nicest poss way. Always on natural mamas and every time i see her she has a different sling on ! She buys and sells them second hand and they really seem to hold their value, but then you probably already know that:)

Not certain whether i will sling for this one... maybe will see.... Grin
