Fab news wombat
lia i reckon 12 days over... (sorry!)
Waves to everyone else!

lia66 · 23/03/2011 16:16

clareanna I am not your friend.

yesterday baby was 3/5 engaged, ie only chin could be felt above brim of pelvis, however as my ligaments are softer given my many many pg's :) no guarantee it'll stay there, quite easy to bob in and out.

loopy yes hopefully they'll get used to it by 12 days over and it'll be 2nd nature to be nice to each other by then. Hmm

wombat welcome and well done for taking the nig step of moving in. :)

lia66 · 23/03/2011 16:16

nig Think I meant big Grin

Blush Ladies with farmers or aching undercarriage (post delivery or pre actually!) I can highly recommend a cold pack (Femme pad) from Mothercare if things get very troublesome....The things carrying dos bambinos does to you Blush

Thanks Owl hopefully what I've felt is movement then. I've gone off meat while being pg rather bizarrely, but onto pasta :)

lia I'll take a bet on 10 days overdue

Whoop for Wombat, the good scan, and me not being bottom of the list!! Grin

Ivy what's wrong?

I've had aches on and off today, with strange twinges in my fanjo. Not painful, just noticeable. Mind you, I am noticeably larger, and my lower back is sore, so maybe it's related Hmm

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 23/03/2011 18:35

on top of that, it just occured to me that the pain in my back and belly is actually down to tightenings....

OP posts:
OrangeGloss · 23/03/2011 19:27

Just noticed your other posts Ivy I can imagine it's really frustrating. I'm struggling to revise and I'm only 16 weeks!

CaribouMoo · 23/03/2011 22:08

Ok, so its been so long since I've been on that there's a new thread and a different way of posting messages Blush To be honest, I've been freaking out a bit about work, less than 4 weeks to go and soooo much to do. Then get home and am too tired to get on the laptop.

So hope I haven't missed too much. Wombat, really pleased for you and your fab scan. Good on you for being brave and joining the list too - a bit of positvity goes a long way too.

Penguin how exciting!! I had an elective section with DD a week before she was due and it is very surreal indeed knowing when you will have your baby. It was also quite a calm affair though and I wouldn't be at all disappointed if that had to happen again this time. You'll be grand.

Orange i felt flutters at 18 weeks and definite movement at 20. I have an anterior placenta though so its quite likely you could be feeling your wee one now.

Ivy you ok, whatsamatta?

appleblossoms · 24/03/2011 10:33

Isn't it a glorious day?! I always used to be a winter person...loved snuggling on the sofa under a duvet with a mug of hot chocolate and a girlie dvd on whilst the rain poured down outside...but that's all changed since ds. We're enjoying a lovely morning in the garden at the mo and it's really lifted my spirits.
ivy hope you're feeling a bit better today. You're SO near the end, and it is horribly frustrating in the last few weeks. Any more tightenings?
Thanks for all the advice, tesco didn't have the cream (strangely they didn't try to substitute it for anything else Wink) so will pop along to the pharmacy tomorrow and see what I can find. Stocked up on apple juice in the meantime!
Have been feeling a little nervous last couple of days, I have an underactive thyroid...hence consultant appointments...and last test showed I was slightly under so they've upped my medication. Stupidly I then googled it, and I was actually quite underactive on one measure and it can cause early labour during second/third trimester. I'm sure it'll all be fine...but another thing to worry about! At least the sun is shining! Grin

any news from lia?

still haven't got my assignment done, but my head is at least feeling a little bit better. DS has chickenpox :(

loopy cephalic is always good :)
My bump can be LOA one moment and ROP the next, such a little fidget, and that's with the head 1/5-2/5 palpable.

still tighening on and off, sometimes 5 minutes apart, sometimes an hour, but nothing that I would call painful, just really noticable. this is going to be a fun few weeks.
Going to do a dry-run of my pool this weekend. :)

Hi all,

the news from me is that I am definately pregnant!! Mw confirmed it, so this huuuge bump in front of me is not life threatening, unless it decides to stay in there forever, at some point I may explode Grin

ivy I've been feeling like you for weeks, It's soul destroying, (in a dramatic pregnancy kind of way) when you think, ooh, maybe tonight, ...wake up in the morning, no baby!!! aggghhhh

And breathe.

So lovely weather, have been doing lots of walking, (due to price of fuel nothing else, lol) got pile of ironing today and meeting at ds's school to discuss his options for gcse. And of course, it's Friday so I have the dreaded swimming lessons for 2 children at one hour apart so really convenient. Fridays are not my best day.

however dh has just called to say he has chocolate in his work bag beside our bed Grin Grin Might even be worth the treck up 3 flights of stairs to get it.

Baby was measuring (with that really wellknown accurate method of the tape measure) 2 wks ahead at mw appt the other day, so I'm thinking between 9 and 10lb!!

Anyone want to wager a guess, ? I'll start

9lb 9ozs, born Sunday some point, (cos I want to go to first car boot of the season!!)

Next...

Hi to everyone, loopy good positioning, now lots of sitting on ball to keep baby there. no leaning back into comfy sofas.

Have good day all. x

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 25/03/2011 11:02

the consolation is that all those branstons are helping to prepare my cervix, right? not that it needs much preparing, last time I went from having an unfavourable cervix to having a baby in less than 24 hours, dilating from 2 to 10 in just about 20 minutes. My midwife told me that from 37 weeks (thursday!), if I even suspect I might be heading into labour, to call and give them warning so they can at least get prepared as to who will come out to me. easier said than done, though.

lia I'll go for 9lb 7oz born saturday night :)

ohh postman is here. fluffy post?

OP posts:
lia66 · 25/03/2011 11:09

ivy they have told me to tell them whan I ring that they have to send both mw's at the same time due to swift labour risk, so when the time is right, might be worth mentioning that when you do need them.

Sat night would be good, could still do car boot then Shock

Fluffy post Envy Actually I am waiting too, :)

AlbaDeTamble · 25/03/2011 11:51

Lia my money's on Sunday night (well Monday morning...) midwife won't be one you know and won't believe quick labour because you'll be so calm, so she'll leave muttering about no progress and then N will have to coach your DH in baby catching shortly afterwards. It'll be your best birth Wink

lia66 · 25/03/2011 11:52
Grin

excellent, I'll take alba's option please.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 25/03/2011 14:59

hehehe sounds good :o

lia my mw said that it might be a matter of getting one midwife to me or risking a BBA, because some of the on-calls live up to 40 minutes away, which is why they want me to ring early.
There's a huge note on my homebirth summary that went out to all the midwives that says "HYPERMOBILITY + HYPERELASTICITY!!".
last time DH had to catch the baby because the midwife was busy getting the birth pack open and her gloves on...

I didn't get my fluff today, but I did get a tots bots teenyfit through yesterday. it is just what the name says. microscopic!
waiting for 10 minkis in different designs and a cloth-bum changebag + a weenotions wrap :)

OP posts:
lia66 · 25/03/2011 15:35

Ooh 10 minki's :)

I got the most gorgeous pink velour swaddlebee today, (shame to cover it up with a wrap) and a tiny sandy.

Can't wait to use them.

appleblossoms · 25/03/2011 16:32

Lovely to see i'm not the only one who gets excited about new nappies! I got some new bg for ds in the sale at christmas and was SO excited when they arrived, more so than my real presents!
Dh made me promise I won't buy anymore for this baby though and use what I already have Sad most unfair!
lia i'm betting sunday morning, kicking off just as you turn up at the car boot Wink can see you using it as a bargaining tool to get the best deal! "50p, my final offer, take it before the baby comes..."

owlbooty · 25/03/2011 16:51

I got a load of baby clothes through the post today; tis v.exciting and I have been cooing madly all over them. Thankfully Mr Boots is at work and has missed this horrifying spectacle. Grin

Tesco do some really lovely stuff online, am well impressed.

I'm gonna be quizzing you lot on these fancy nappies in due course, don't want to accidentally get ones that leak out the sides all over the place. That would not be good.

Lia I'm going to go for Sunday at midday and a surprisingly dinky 8lb9oz :)
