Had mega attack of BHs to the point I did wonder lol...at one point it ramped up to about every 5/6 mins but then they settled after a few of hours Confused

lia66 · 20/03/2011 16:41

To be honest we've got stuff going on at home with dd and dh and I have to say I don't think it'll happen :( Women need a safe enviroment to birth in and my house is not that place right now. I can seriously see this going over and ending up in hospital. I think I may have to resign myself to that and if it happens differently then it'll be a bonus.

Could someone please bring the list over, I made a right pigs ear of it last time I tried to do it.

OMG stuffed just had a really strong bh, I hate them, if they're gonna turn into something , fine, bring it on, If not.. Bugger off eh? If they're bothering you alot, could be you are a teeny bit dehydrated.

(can you tell I'm not in the best mood? :) )

Hope everyone has had good wekend in the sunshine, We are waiting for chinese delivery now, no effort involved. I might even have an ice cold shandy.

Ooh lovely shiny new thread - and very scary to think this is the thread I'll probably give birth on.

Hang on in there lia lovely - sorry that things at home aren't great but it won't be long now, I'm sure.

I have developed a chronic pain at the bottom of my sternum / around the top of my top left rib. It's woken me up for the last two nights and it fricking kills - not sure I can put up with this for six more weeks!

PenguinsMummy · 21/03/2011 08:10

Morning ladies. lovely new thread

Hope things start happening for you soon Lia.

Viv - eeek didn't think about this being the thread on which I would give birth!!

Have my ELCS appt tomorrow so will get a date hopefully - v surreal. Had a lovely time at friends wedding on Saturday although as there was a traditional Indian banquet at the reception, my heartburn was not good - lost count of how much gaviscon I had Smile! DD1&2 had a lovely time with their grandparents too.

Big waves to all. X

lia66 · 21/03/2011 08:21

Am certainly hoping that this is the thread that I give birth on. :)

stuffedmk · 21/03/2011 11:21

lia fingers crossed things calm down a bit so bubs gets moving...either way this will be the thread you give birth on, and hopefully me shortly after Grin
Did wonder if it was dehydration but have been drinking plenty so don't think so. I think I overdid it a bit on Saturday though so that's probably why they hit so hard.

viv ouchy, hope you feel a bit more comfortable soon.

penguin wish I could get an actual date, definitely a huge plus with ELCS

lia I hope things start moving for you soon. Sorry that home isn't nice at the moment :(

owlbooty your cleanup made me laugh :o

stuffed I'm with ya on the branstons. we went to the aquarium in plymouth yesterday, had to park in regent street more than half a mile away because the car park next to the aquarium was closed, and spent the entire afternoon chasing DS who thought it would be great fun to run from one tank to the next, shouting and gesturing wildly with excitement. hubby was useless very helpful by standing, reading every sign and looking at every exhibit while I chased my son, trying not to drop the bag of food (2L of drink!), the bag of nappies (I see why some people like disposables, they weigh less...) and my handbag, half bending down and trying not to cry like a baby let the SPD get to me.
Had the branstons all through the night so much that they made me dream I'd gone into labour in my MIL's shop, which she then promptly filled with water so I could have a waterbirth. She then proceeded to invite my SIL, niece and nephew, and my 2 other BILs, who all thought it would be fun to get into the flooded shop/birth pool with me. HmmConfusedHmm.
I was in the middle of an angry sleep rant when DS woke up with nightmares at 4:30, asking for daddy, who, of course didn't want to get up...

Anyone want a Brew?

stuffedmk · 21/03/2011 12:02

Ivy that sounds like an epic dream. I can't say I did anything strenuous (sp?) but just didn't stop and rest all day...my own fault really, felt quite energised for some reason when I got up in the morning so made the most of it just paid the price later on Hmm
DH did let me sleep in on Sunday morning 'til about 11 but still felt rubbish all day.

owlbooty · 21/03/2011 13:00

viv is it a small foot, do you think? If so, hopefully it might move.

I have had a few odd branstons altho not the painful sort, just the weird freakish tightening all over bump sort - the first one completely freaked me out as I thought they only happened in the 3rd trimester but apparently not.

They only seem to happen first thing in the morning and they seem to be provoked by dehydration as I didn't have any this morning and I'd been sipping water when I woke up in the night. Don't think the Owlet is terribly impressed though, I guess they must squish him a bit.

Ivy nice work on the list; I don't know about anyone else but I know you've got me and Nix right :)

lia ice cold shandy sounds lush; as does Chinese takeaway. Hope you're not waiting too much longer for the little one to turn up!

stuffedmk · 21/03/2011 14:13

Owl Branstons definitely not just in 3rd tri, I've had them on and off since beginning of 2nd...didn't realise what they were to start with though.

VivClicquot · 21/03/2011 14:14

I think it's definitely the bone or a ligament or something - the baby is constantly lying on my right hand side (my bump is dead lop-sided!), and so I can normally tell when I've got a foot wedged up between my ribs on that side. However, this is on the other side, and feels like a much more bruised, almost torn feeling. :(

Dr Google seems to suggest it might be something called rib flare, which is where the ligaments shift to accommodate the uterus - I don't think mine's as painful as it could be, and all indications seem to suggest it eases when the baby drops so hopefully it won't last too long.

Mention of an ice-cold shandy has got me drooling btw :)

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 14:23

All good at the scan:) except for wriggling misbehaviour!!!!!
Still going now... Ice cold fanta :)

Wombat33 · 21/03/2011 14:34

Yey!! Fab news Nix! Owl when's yours?

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 14:35

Wombo, owls was last week Grin

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 14:37

Yikes for the rib pain viv can you see the midwife at all so they can maybe have a feel to see whats causing it? or would that not help at all? I got a lot of rib pain when i was in labour last time, but only because his bottom was wedged up underneath them! Hope it eases for you x

Wombat33 · 21/03/2011 14:46

Oops. Losing/lost marbles. Think I'd better follow my own advice and go back to bed!

owlbooty · 21/03/2011 14:53

Hehehehe Womble has preggo-brain. Grin

Bugger, Viv , that sounds ouchy, tis a good thing MiniCliquot is almost due.

Nix ace news on the good scan and misbehaving sprog :)

toomuchteaching · 21/03/2011 15:28

Feel for you Viv, I had constant rib pain for the last few weeks. I'm pretty sure mine was a foot though, but eventually it left the area numb in a pins and needles kind of way. Weirdly I occasionally notice the feeling hasn't totally come back, although thankfully the pain has gone. Hope yours clears up soon.

Woop for Nix and sending good vibes Lia's way, not that you'll need them you expert you.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 21/03/2011 15:41

wombat sorry about your cold. You still have marbles left? I don't think I've had any for years..

viv you should ask your midwife when you see her (or even just call) maybe they can suggest something..

Midwife just left after homebirth visit, from next thursday I'm good to go!
been booked for a growth scan, though, because bump measurement is stagnant at 33cms, although she actually isn't that concerned because head is only 2/5 palpable, but she said that if I end up with an SGA baby, she'd get the rap.
So I'll get a scan some time this week or next.

oh my god. I'm going to be full term next week. Shock
