orange STEP AWAY from the MMC thread.....Grin and try and focus on your lovely scan.

Miscarriage association says that if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks you have a 98% chance of the baby going to term...

Grin Grin

tiger vivid dreams here too.. not nice at all... the night before last was about a pair of identical lady twins, one who could kill people with lasers from her eyes...WTF?!? Was like something out of a stephen king film, what was it...Carrie thats it. Prefer the sex with the ex ones meself!!

Ivy oof i read your message thinking ooh thats great, onset of labour etc etc...then i realised you were 27 weeks. Hope you are ok, What have the MW's said? ((hugs))

magic pah, breech? Will s/he turn in time do you think? Prob not got much room to has s/he? Feet up if you can xx

lolly yey for 16 week scan, how on earth have you managed to keep that quiet? I am 12+4 and havent told anyone at work yet apart from bosses, im hoping no one will notice cos am not ready to go public.

mamap good luck for the scan lovely x

I remember your public display moo we have all had em of that i am sure. xx Glad things are settling down now babs xx

VivClicquot · 27/01/2011 10:00

Hiya ladies, hiya! x

Just a quickie from me to say hello from a v hot Koh Samui. Well, I say hot. Today's the first day of sun after two and a half days of cloud and end-of-days-esque storms. Would you believe I actually attempted a mammouth name-checking post yesterday while seeking refuge from an apocalyptic thunderstorm which left us trapped in our room, but the damn thing got lost when I hit submit.

Anyway, the reason for me checking in was to make sure apples' scan went okay, so am v relieved that all was well, and yay for Team Blue! Apples - I'm sure you handled the run-up to the scan better than me. Given our last baby was found to have a severe abnormality that was discovered at a routine scan, I spent the entire journey to the hospital for my 20 week scan in tears and with wracking sobs, worrying it would happen again. And then cried again when everything was okay. Think mascara-stained cheeks and snot bubbles, and you're almost there... Wink

Anyway, am killing time while DH gets ready before we head out so will pop by again at some point. Oh - and before I forget - yay too to all the grads who have made it over! I suspect this thread is going to start moving real quick! Grin

Much love to all xxxx

UrbanLolly · 27/01/2011 10:21

Good Morning Ladies on the late tonight so here goes a very quick catch up.....

ivy hope everything goes well for you today, i have no clue what losing your plug means at your stage....but FX
orange you've really had a tough few weeks, I too have had some bleeding the last day being xmas day, so stay away from google and all mc threads. This 1st trimester is so fraught with worry you don't need to be winding yourself up anymore!!!!!
tiger that's a horrible dream to have had, mine have been all weird work related, hopeing for some of nics erotic ones!!
magic8 you'r made of some strong stuff, just can't imagine how it would feel to have two wrigglers in there...BONKERS
nics glad your scan went well, 12+4 that's just brilliant. its weird how time stands so still and then all of a sudden you are over the first hurdle and then on to mentaling about the next. It's such a different experience this time round nothing is taken for granted.......
apples so glad to hear your scan went well I will be in bits, I did't do any of the abnormality scans, bloods this time round, so I am now shitting myself. I'm 36 so just thought the results would be in the higher bands and didn't want the extra worry....stomach in knots as I think about it.

How have I hidden my pg? We'll I've not put on any weight yet as i've been really off my food, anything my dh has made has just turned me, so I've been surviving on bits of dinners and lots of milk, bread, cake, crisps and sweets. Hope i have turned a corner as yesterday i made dinner and ate the lot....very yummy!!
I've also been wearing support tights and spanx and holding my tummy in, find all looks ok in the morning but after lunch I usually have a scarf and blazer on.

Have a good day x

Ba8y1 · 27/01/2011 13:05

Hi ladies,

Love the shiny new thread! Am forever apologising for not name checking thoroughly, but I can't check the thread often enough to keep up with all the news. Blush
Hope everyone is well? Congrats to all the newbies and wishing you straightforward and stress free pgs!

Fab news toomuch - huge congrats! Lots of lovely births over the last few months!

louise - are you still around on this thread? - I hope 2011 is bringing you peace and hope.

Well cannot believe I am second on the list! How did that happen so quickly?! Hope you are doing ok dorcas? Would so love baby to put in an appearance asap, pg does not suit me! Have had some intermittent painful bhs and period pains this week, but nothing convincing! Am having a sweep at 40+3 and an induction asap after that if needed - just can't cope with the spd pain and crutches much longer!

On another slightly strange note, was reading a thread earlier where someone mentioned 'orgasmic births'??!! Confused Anyone got any experience of this?! Have googled....Hmm!!

Take care all xx

PenguinsMummy · 27/01/2011 13:13

Apples glad to hear that all went well and congrats on having a blue one!

Ivy fingers crossed that all goes well for you my due date buddy.

viv sunshine sounds lovely - if only!

Welcome to all the lovely new ladies and here's wishing you months of boredom ahead!

OrangeGloss · 27/01/2011 13:27

You're right Nix I think it just coincided with my boobs not as sore, and going to dr to tell him I'm pg. I nearly cried when he gave me the exemption certificate Blush
Thanks too Urban glad to see you're doing ok
< self for getting wound up

Viv am Envy of your location, I loved Koh Samui, hope the weather stays good

Orgasmic births?!

owlbooty · 27/01/2011 13:50

Viv am also Envy at Thailand hols, I love Thailand even though I got my passport nicked last time I went there. I'd still go back :)

Ivy hope all is well & plug sorts itself out.

Orange your odds are excellent. Stop looking for horrible information that tells you otherwise. As usual, I am in no position to tell you this as I did exactly the same thing Grin Now come 'ere and let me smack you in the mush with this kipper.

Day 91 in the Owl house (yep, I'm counting) and I had the nuchal scan after the headstanding antics of last week. This time the Owlet behaved perfectly and so far all is looking very good - bloods will be back tomorrow. The doctor thinks it is a boy :) Am feeling pretty damn relaxed now, at last.

Freezingmyarseoff · 27/01/2011 15:10

Hope you don't mind me intruding but I just wanted to pop in and say hello and see how you lovely ladies are.

BTW, I'm not upduffed or anything but for some reason I was thinking about you all this morning. I've kind of dropped off the TTC list as I was obessing a bit too much about dates and symptoms and all that

Wow it's lovely to see so many babies arriving and so many grads joining. Congrats to you all

magic8s blimey where did the last 28 weeks go! You're entitled to all the moaning you want, at least you still have your sense of humour too
Ivy fingers crossed for you
Viv Thailand - you lucky lady

Big waves to you all but specially Clareanna, CaribouMoo, Penguins, Hopefully, Muser

nickstermum · 27/01/2011 15:37

Owl how on earth does the doc think its a boy? i didnt think their bits grew til 16 weeks....! Right... am off to book a private scan if thats the case Grin fab all looking fab x not so badass afterall x
Yey for team blue apples and owl Boys r ACE! i wouldnt know what to do with a girl.

I keep saying to DS, whats mummy got in her tummy? my baby sister.....ok gonna be disappointed then....!!

orange boobs get less sorer as you progress, stay full but it comes and goes. YEY for the sickness.

Viv Envy your holiday whether its raining or not!!

Mmm orgasmic births... think not!!

owlbooty · 27/01/2011 16:07

Hello lovely and hello Jolls if you're lurking. There's been a few old timers getting bfps recently; fingers crossed you are next in line!

Nicks don't ask me to explain it but apparently there's some way of telling that doesn't involve actually seeing bits and more how the bits that will become the bits look (does that even make sense) - unfortunately my addled brain did not take that in as was too excited about seeing little hands and feet and so on. Obviously that's not a definite 100% but it's kind of fun to see if she is right. :)

Mr Boots is taking me out for dinner tonight. Whoop!

ooh moo I remember that day - how scary for your colleague I hope all is ok. And CONGRATULATIONS to you for hitting 24 weeks!

ivy that sounds scary - What did your mw/ hospital have to say today? have you been scanned to see what's going on? sounds like it's time to hit the sofa and get plenty of rest - take care x

urban welcome to the thread! I hid it at work until 22 weeks - they just thought I was a big porker.

tiger and nix I'm also having bonkers dreams - althoguh they are now labour / birth related. The other night I dreamt the baby was borne with a full set of teeth - ugggh.

magic I've very impressed that naughty spiderbaby1 has managed such a feat of acrobatics - I hope he/she manages to get back the right way round soon - not long now, you're doing so well. Bought some more storage boxes today you'll be pleased to hear... - my rock n roll lifestyle...

viv glad you're getting some sun - have a wonderful time!

Ba8y good to hear from you! apparently the SPD pain goes almost instantly - I can't wait for that either!

owl my (completely unscientific) theory is that if you're measuring slightly ahead at your 12 week scan then it's likely to be a boy.
...

big hug to freezing - lovely to hear from you too

MrCA took me out for a slap up dinner last night, and DS was staying at his grandmas... Think the night of passion was slightly spoilt by the fact I had to make a detour on the way home to the late night chemist for an industrial size vat of Gaviscon, and then spent the rest of the night sleeping sitting up right, belching oc

clareanna · 27/01/2011 17:22

disclaimer having to add more than 1 to the list is slightly too much for preggo brian, so apologies in advance if I mess the stats up! have also added mamap pink and orange to the waiting to join section - hope that's OK...

nowt like some passion killing burps clare Grin

Passion when pregnant.... no sorry does not compute Grin

Thanks for the genetics lessons gals.. will have a shufty with the magnifying glass later... DH was scrutinising it for a willy when it was on screen but couldnt see one... DS was VERY VERY obviously a boy when he was scanned!

Muser · 27/01/2011 18:39

orange get away from the doom stories. I know it's hard, we all do, but try and stay positive.

Freezing lovely to see you, I'm not giving up on you and Jolls.

Ivy hope everything is ok today, please let us know how it's going.

magic8 you are so nearly there. You can do it!

nickstermum · 27/01/2011 19:28

Thanks for that article loopy :)

clare Grin re the full set of teeth.... oof wouldnt like to bf s/he!

tigerbear · 27/01/2011 19:47

Viv - soooo jealous you're in Thailand!!!

Sounds like everyone is having weird dreams! When I had the erm, erotic, ones, they were a bit disturbing - full on group sex sessions, orgies, the lot!

Anyone else going through another eating frenzy?
I'm so hungry all the time (hmm, maybe greedy is a better word).

In RL, it seems like EVERYONE is pregnant. I now know 8 friends who are pg too (7 of them are the same number of weeks as me!). Then there are all the celeb pregnancies being announced too. I was saying to DH last night that if I wasn't pregnant now, i'd be mega depressed, and thinking 'why not me?'

Still a bit worried, as tigerbaby really doesn't move very much at all, but perhaps she's just a bit sloth-like, like me! :) Have my next midwife appointment on Tuesday, so hopefully the heartbeat will be fine.

Freezing I don't know how long you've been TTC for but it took me a whole year. In some ways I am glad because DD's a bit older and I am feeling better to cope now. Fingers crossed your time will come soon.

CaribouMoo · 27/01/2011 21:40

Hey Freezing, good to hear from you -- although I did think for a second you had something to tell us. Would love to see you, Jolls, BB and Digi over here soon.

Welcome Urban, I think we may have crossed paths a few times on the TTC thread. Can't believe you're 16 weeks already!

8s you are falling to bits right enough - all for a good cause though. I remember the shooting fanjo pain clearly...

Hi Viv - hope you and Mr Viv are having a fab hol. And the bump of course!

Good news Owl on another good scan. I'm team blue too, there's a lot of us about!

Clare how you could even contemplate a night of passion is beyond me. Heartburn aside, how would you manage with your SPD? I know, how great that I have reached 24 weeks!

Ivy hope you are resting and taking it very easy.

DachshundsWantPuppies · 27/01/2011 21:54

Hello :) I feel like a fraud being here as I haven't even had the nerve to put my bfp on the bfp list on the conception thread yet, but is it ok if i lurk for a bit until I'm ready to join properly?

Part of me is still convinced it's just a chemical pg but the rest of me wants to be excited rather than miserable and worried!

Scan on 22 Feb but am hoping to book an earlier one privately. Waiting until Monday to book one.

Not sure how to date the pg though as Dr Google and my clinic said you date an IVF pg from 14 days before egg collection but the obstetrician i was planning to use says its from LMP same as any other pg, but that's 6 days different for me Confused So how do I know how far along I'm meant to be?

Hope everyone here is doing ok and bumps and beans are all well :)
