Don't worry nicks woman at work tells me I've grown every time she sees me. Asked if there were twins in there the other day. Trying not to be offended... By 4pm I am massive - start off normal but then grow!
Just bought an Isabella Oliver dress on eBay as I couldn't face paying 115 quid for it - got the 10 as I would pee baby but it's hard to squeeze my boobs in (I'm only 17 weeks) should I re-sell???

Gonnabe · 02/03/2011 22:10

Errr that's pre baby - not pee!!! The phone corrected, mind you with amount I'm having to go it might have a point!

VivClicquot · 02/03/2011 22:28

toomuch - no fricking way! That's my married name but my maiden surname was equally as, um, ridiculous! ;-)

I was gutted to lose my maiden name but consoled myself that I wasn't going from something silly to something plain like Smith :)

Ps Friend request me up!

VivClicquot · 02/03/2011 22:31

gonnabe I've bought 3 IO dresses on eBay, and got them all in a size 3 as I was a size 12 pre-pg. Had no issues with boobs so far (now 31 weeks) so I'd say if its a squeeze for you at 17 wks, I'd probably re-list.

toomuchteaching · 02/03/2011 22:59

Whereas I was desperate to swop for something boring (sorry gi1da!) because being a teacher it rhymes with way too many things!

nickstermum · 03/03/2011 06:26

Think i may have to search online for an IO dress... love the look of them and sick to death of looking like a tramp!

I didnt want to lose my maiden name either, quite liked it and married name is quite dull... (as per bookface!) So i kept my name for work.. and married on the bank accounts where it matters Grin

Will probably get a bit confusing later on though as DS gets a bit bigger.

Magic how are you doing now you are home? How is mammoth feeding sessions going? Your babies are beautiful x

clare how are you getting on? recovering nicely? are you getting out and about yet? Juggling the two working ok?

gonnabe its impossible to not be public now... am sure its just bloating, but its bump shaped! Its my second so apparently when your muscles are crap like mine, you show earlier.. i think am just porky! Even if it is wind, its reassuring Grin

How are all the new grads doing? Anyone feel ready to be put on the list yet?!?!

I have to tell you... i felt the baby move in the night. 3 clear defined kicks out to the side...[delighted emoticons] still very faint compared to DS movement but definately due to the uterus muffler!! very pleased Grin and a bit relieved Grin I probably wont feel anything now for another week so i relished it :)

Hope everyone is fab this week xxx

Gonnabe · 03/03/2011 07:59

Am gutted about io dress- loads of room every where else to grow but my boobs are already Jordan proportions! Might try and find a io shop to try on first next time, gah!

Hello to everyone - massive congrats to magic!! Xx

VivClicquot · 03/03/2011 08:25

toomuch - that's made me laugh as both BIL and SIL (who have the same surname) are secondary school teachers... Grin

VivClicquot · 03/03/2011 08:27

Oh and nix - I've also kept my maiden name at work. I figured I've spent over 10 years trying to build a reputation doing what I do, so why confuse matters...

appleblossoms · 03/03/2011 09:35

can I be bookface friends please? I'm already friends with some people, nix/PV can you out me to the others please?

How are the spiderbabies magic?? I think I started stalking lurking on the TTC thread about the time you got your BFP, and now here you are with two little babies! Can't believe it. Can't wait to hear all about birthing TWO, what a superstar.

Grin at gonnabe's pee baby! Think that was a freudian...tis how it feels at times!

appleblossoms · 03/03/2011 15:04

Tis quiet today...

I've just enjoyed some marmite on toast, only to have my insides kicked black and blue....please tell me I'm not growing another marmite hater?! DS spits it out whenever I offer it to him Shock

lia66 · 03/03/2011 20:28

evening all.

Well my baby girl, my first born is actually 16 years old tomorrow Shock Where the bloody hell did that time go?

I must not go into labour tonight or have a baby quickly tomorrow at all, Any time after that is fine. Also dh is in Birmingham till Sat morning too so not terribly convenient all round really.

I am getting very irritataed with stupid bookface. It won't let me comment on people yet will let me post, whats that all about? People are gonna think I'm a right misery if I don't join in. It's not fair

I can take marmite or leave it personally, must be the only person who's not a lover or hater. :)

Hope everyone is well, Can't believe that if I go into labour any time now, that I won't have to go into hospital, and will just set up nest here and crack on. eek.

Kind of want to get it over with now, other half of me is now officially shitting myself a tad more nervous about it.

Emoo · 04/03/2011 09:58

Hello everyone! I normally inhabit the appropriately-named freak-out room, but owl suggested I pop over here to ask a question...

I had a scan yesterday at ~9 weeks, because of bleeding, was terrified it was another MC in progress, but it turned out to be a subchorionic haematoma. Dr Google is quite scary on this topic, but owl thought she recalled someone here having had one before? If so, I'd love to hear how you got on, and whether it was nothing, or just a nuisance or anything slightly more worrying?

Thanks - hopefully I'll be here properly in a month or so's time. Not feeling quite ready yet.

AlbaDeTamble · 04/03/2011 09:59

Happy birthday Lia's DD1!

northerngoldilocks · 04/03/2011 10:39

Morning everyone.

Its my last day at work today - feels strange that this is it for possibly up to a year. Had envisaged that I would just be doing some filing and going for tea breaks with people, but annoyingly have had quite a busy week and still have some work to finish off.

Am hoping that once I finish work it will make the whole 'having a baby' thing feel more real - despite being at the top of the list, I can't get my head around the fact that I could actually be having a baby soon - seems very much like its all happening to someone else.

We have now finally sorted out the room where I want to put the birthing pool and tried inflating it last weekend - all good and seemed to stay up. Will try water in it this weekend too if we get round to it - otherwise will just go with hoping for the best! I'm normally really organised with stuff, but this all seems to be put off as part of my 'in denial' strategy!

Magic - looking forward to hearing more about the spiderbabies - although guess with 2 to look after you'll have even less time to update than most, hope you're all doing well.

Gonnabe - IO is mail order only so no options to try on in a shop - might be worth ordering from the site and returning although not sure how much that would cost in postage? I was a size 12 pre pregnancy and bought a '3' and its fine - but some of the things I bought earlier which were tight on the boobs were unwearable by 20odd weeks (although now my boobs have got a bit smaller again - odd) so I'd consider selling it on and buying something else.

Northern if anything like me you'll get so uncomfortable in the next few weeks it'll start to feel very real... And I found the pool's presence to be taunting me as I couldn't wait to get on with it! We never did a trial run filling it (though DH did a lot of prep with getting extensions to the shower hose to fill it and calculating how many tanks of hot water and how long it would take to fill - pools are very useful for occupying husbands whilst you get on with labour without them getting anxious!)... On the night it turned out it was full just in time. Fantastic way to give birth, I hope it all goes smoothly for you and look forward to lovely home waterbirth stories from you and from Lia...

VivClicquot · 04/03/2011 12:13

Alba... what a good plan for DH, distracting him with pool filling duties...!! Fab idea...

Happy birthday to lias 16 yo... does it feel like 16 years ago lia?!

Gosh..loopy that sounds scary... how fantastic that everything has turned out all right for you. So many ladies i have noticed post MC have bled in pg afterwards...doesnt help the freaking out. FX everything is ok emoo :)

Now.. my DH was a rubbish birthing partner last time. I think part of the problem was i didnt tell him what i wanted him to do, and my birth plan was non existent. Thats where i am going to start this time Grin plus earphones for hypno stuff and be very expressive about what i want. Any suggestions to help me would be gratefully received Grin

lots of dulled ripples last night, and a couple of kicks the night before

Looking forward to the weekend with lots of DS snuggles :)

clareanna · 04/03/2011 13:50

Hello all- popping in from the other side- lovely to see the list moving on!

Have a fab last day at work northern try to forget all about the place as soon as you can and enjoy the precious time off!

nix it's going well with 2- thanks for asking! Ds1 is 3.9 so is quite easy now, he loves ds2, but is acting out in different ways- we've had a few imaginary illnesses and some immense tantrums over ridiculous things. We've kept him in nursery 3 days a week as he starts school in september and it felt important to keep his routine the same, but I'm not sure if that was right now as he's figured out that I'm at home with baby and he's not... I might drop a day in the summer for a month or so...

lia congrats on dd1's big birthday!! What do you wish you knew then that you know now?!

lia66 · 04/03/2011 14:21

What do I wish that I knew? Hmm

That some babies really just don't like milk and will never follow the centile no matter what.

That everything is a phase and will pass.

It all goes too quickly so enjoy them

Think in a nutshell thats it. :)

AlbaDeTamble · 04/03/2011 16:25

Nickster for your birthplan stuff... Great to say what you want upfront, but I've found both times it's extremely hard to express your needs during labour itself (not sure how you were last time?) so I would highly recommend a doula (I was extremely lucky to have Lia, but she's on maternity leave now Wink). it's just great to have someone there who knows everything you want, you know you trust and who will be there all the time (unlike the midwives... You don't know who you'll get and they don't stay with you all the time in my experience... Ours left an hour before the baby arrived this time Shock!). and a doula won't be anxious like your DH. That said, my DH delivered the baby this time, but with some lovely calm coaching from Lia and he was totally not anxious at that stage because he was doing something Grin... not that I would suggest giving birth with no midwife there but thankfully it all worked out fine for us...
