Nicks!! That observation about being half way up the list is not helping when I'm freaking out about my VBAC!!

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 17:37

sorry moo Blush

Id just noticed it.

I know several people who have had a very successful VBAC with just G&A...short second labour if thats reassuring.....?

owlbooty · 28/02/2011 21:29

Aw, I was enjoying my extra gained day. Can you just gain me two weeks and get me past the next scan? Grin

Brian you dirty stop out Grin

I need to poke Wombat as she's just fessed up to being over 12 weeks, she ought to be joining us when she gets her blood results back (we need new recruits in here now the Spiderbabies are out and about). There may be others that require poking. I shall get the swordfish ready.

PV I have to book dentist appt and have utterly failed to get bloody certificate of freeness. Am idiot. Perhaps I can flash my norks at her, they're about the only convincingly upduffed thing going on here. Poor dentist.

I want to be in the top half of the list. Time is absolutely crawling here

OrangeGloss · 01/03/2011 07:22

Morning, wow congrats on your spiders Magic Grin
PV how lovely and so nice to hear you're radiant :) I hope the scan goes well today, I have one on Friday for reassurance/another peek, and your MIL sounds wonderful terrible as I read your 2nd post. Thanks for the added day Grin and like my name too :)
Moo I don't know what the head down means, but seems like you have work to do Confused

People have started noticing at work, though not asking me directly. I didn't think you could tell. My book says I should 'start' to show but hmmm...

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 01/03/2011 09:18

woot woot 8s congratulations on the safe arrival of the spider babies!

nickstermum · 01/03/2011 10:41

owl when is your 20 weeker? Mines not until March 21st....

Anyone else had a 4D scan? Im thinking of having one done at about 23-24 weeks i think (assuming i get that far! - have to always add that bit!!)

moo head down is great, but you dont have to VBAC y'know! I am seriously considering elcs this time but to me the only downside is the recovery.

The MW tells me that number 1 son has paved the way already and labour 2 should be much easier and quicker...! Hmm

People have started to ask me at work also, orange gawd the butcher even noticed on saturday!! I probably gave that away with my 'mind the bump' tshirt on though :)

To those with anterior placenta's - when did you first start to feel movement? I think i have felt movement but its very sporadic, very muffled and only every now and again. When will i start to feel it properly?

PenguinsMummy · 01/03/2011 10:50

Hi Nickster We have had 4D scans with all 3 DD's and they are fab! We have had them at 30 weeks and the pictures are amazing. With DD3, we had it 2 weeks ago and she was sleeping to begin with but when I turned onto my side she woke up, yawned and opened her eyes! Some people find them a bit freaky as it's all so real but we loved it.

owlbooty · 01/03/2011 12:19

Tis March 14th Nix (19+1). I also think I am occasionally feeling movement despite having anterior placenta. Then I don't feel anything for a day or two and have a minor freak out. It could easily be confused with indigestion though.

Nobody at work seems to have noticed yet. Or they've been too polite to comment. I'm hanging on til the 20 week scan is done then I might actually tell people. Or perhaps I could wait til I actually go on mat leave? Grin

Penguin that sounds absolutley ace, how lovely to see the MiniPenguin actually moving around :)

toomuchteaching · 01/03/2011 12:54

I was really lucky to be involved in a research project and had 4D scans every 5 weeks from 19 weeks and have to say they were amazing, seeuing the changes was brilliant. Obviously I didn't have to pay but they were totally fab, and otherwise 20 weeks onwards is a long time. I think around 30 weeks is probably the best as they still have a bit of room to wriggle around but are really well developed. It was also good to be certain she was head down. All in all I'd say if you've got the opportunity nickster go for it.

VivClicquot · 01/03/2011 13:06

Nix - I've got an anterior placenta, and my pattern of movement has been really odd.

Had a few mega thumps and kicks at 18 and 19 weeks, which I wasn't entirely convinced were the baby at the time, but now I think they must have been as they're similar to what I feel now. Then nothing - and I mean nothing for aaaages. I mean, weeks. You can imagine how much that shit me up! Was told at the 20 week scan that I had an anterior placentra. Still nothing for a couple more weeks, and then I think I started feeling a few wibbles of movement around the 24/25 week mark.

As I've said elsewhere, I'm now 31 weeks and I'm still not convinced I feel the baby as much as other people do - no large thumps. Just wibbles really. Certainly if I were to go by the 'count the kicks' guidelines, I'd have been in hospital for reassurance on a weekly basis. I just have to trust that the few ripples I do feel are enough... Confused

nickstermum · 01/03/2011 13:14

Thanks viv I know moo has anterior as well.

I think i have felt a bit but kind of out towards the sides (i suppose thats where the placenta isnt!) but its very sporadic, maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I think i started to feel DS at 18 weeks from memory although have no idea where the placenta was!

Thats precisely what it feels a bit like... ripples! Not flutters, just the odd ripple. To be honest i have felt some sharp scratches which i dont know whether they are the baby or not, but its felt like its dragging fingernails across the placenta... quite painful! Whether thats what it was i dont know Confused

Viv your placenta is obviously a nice thick good quality one, providing lots of nutrients for bambino Grin am sure the movements are fine my lovely xxx

VivClicquot · 01/03/2011 13:24

Ha, I hope you're right. Although if my current eating habits are anything to go by, it's probably a choco-centa, rather than a placenta. Grin

owlbooty · 01/03/2011 15:50

Hehehe, mine is a cake-centa Grin

Viv that is very reassuring, thank you. Nix I am also only feeling it out at the sides.

mamapower · 01/03/2011 16:55

magic double congrat's. I hope you are enjoying life with your gorgeous girls Smile

Waves to all (3 weeks away from making it in here, everything is crossed)

nickstermum · 01/03/2011 18:46

Well in that case ladees mine is a salad-centa! This bean is gonna look like a tomatoe!

CaribouMoo · 01/03/2011 20:15

Owl glad to hear you will be taking charge of recruiting from the freak out room. Will be good to have some fresh blood, even if it does push me further up the list! I spent the first half willing time to march on but am defintely getting alarmed at how quickly its passing now.

Orange some people have a keen eye for spotting pregnancy, I'm rubbish at it. Don't you worry about it and tell them in your own time. I was almost 16 weeks this time and was clearly showing when I went public at work!

Nicks the MW kept saying again yesterday that I could opt for another section. I meet the consultant again at 34 weeks and she again that if I change my mind by then its not too late. It feels a bit extreme though asking for one without needing it. Also, this is likely to be our last baby but if it isn't and I get a section this time I will never get to experience labour. I think I just need to man up!

My placenta is indeed anterior too. I felt vague rmblings by about 18 weeks and was certain they were the wee man moving about by 20 weeks. You shouldn't be much longer if you can feel little ones by now but don't worry if you can't until later. Depends also where yours is. Mine is a biscuit-centa! At work today I ate 1 penguin, 1 jammy dodger and 2 custard creams Blush

TMT do you think that the 4D scans looked like your little J? I must confess, I've only seen pics once and it put me right off getting it done! They looked very odd, that was a while ago mind you. Perhaps it was just an odd looking baby too!!

Hey mamaP - glad all is going well and looking forward to you joining properly soon!

DoubleDiffedDachs · 01/03/2011 20:29
nickstermum · 01/03/2011 20:35

Yikes. on the drive back from bris last week i ate a whole pack of jammy dodgers.....speaking of which moo

appleblossoms · 01/03/2011 21:04

Mine's def a choco-centa at the moment...I've just finished my bar of dairy milk Blush twas one of the hooooge ones. Was feeling quite good that I was "all bump" this time round, but it's got a distinct chocolately squishyness round the edges now. whoops! glad I'm not the only one indulging Grin

Can't wait to see you here properly lovelies. I do lurk on your freakout thread to see how you're all doing!

appleblossoms · 01/03/2011 21:05

PS moo..four biscuits in a day?! That's restrained my love!

Nix the scan sounds good, and lovely opportunity. Something to go in the scrapbook. I hope to have one too if all goes well

Sorry can't help with movement, though I felt something last night, but am 99.9% sure it was wind!

PV I hope the scan went well?

Thanks for showing advice, I'm trying to see how long I can put it off

4 Biscuit? Yesterday I had a scone, fruit pie and a slice of cheesecake Blush in my defense I'm struggling to keep the nausea away, maybe a pasta bowl will be sufficient carb I used to be so healthy...

toomuchteaching · 02/03/2011 08:39

Moo at 19 weeks it wasn't a good look, they don't have proper body fat so she looked a bit scrawny, but after that they got more baby like if you know what I mean. I had my last one at 39+6 and at the time thought it just looked like a baby but now can see it's her. The funny thing was that every time they struggled to get photos for us (that was the 'payment' for taking part in the project, little did they know i'd have regular scans for no reward!) because she always had her hands by her face, every single time, and then of course she was born with her hand on her face and the MW wasn't sure it wasn't both hands. The best thing was watching her move and yawn and things, it was amazing and made it all a bit more believable. Ooh I'm getting teary just thinking about it. I would definitely find somewhere to get it done next time, and if you get a dvd of it I think that would be brilliant.

nickstermum · 02/03/2011 19:04

Mum said to me yesterday...

'god you are huge. you look 6 months pg not 4 months'

Mmmmm

Tact never was her strong point!

toomuchteaching · 02/03/2011 21:02

Viv in real life we share a surname (not Clicquot!) although I got rid of it thanks to DH. I've only ever met one other person with it and am faintly amazed.

Apologies for bookface stalking (blame clareanna)!
