That's a picture for the album! Nice positive standpoint on the bedding too!

I dreamt last night they took me into hospital to 'wait' for labour Hmm had just watched One Born Every Minute for the first time. Made no connection between programme and me at my stage of pg, though obviously my subconscious had it's own view

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 22/02/2011 15:23

I am hoping things are finally getting a shift on, had a show this morning and getting lots of cramps and general feeling of heaviness. I know a show is no indication that labour is imminent but I am hopeful!

Plus my stretchmarks made an appearance last night - I am quite proud getting to 36 weeks with double baggage without any! They are only on the side of the fatty twin! My friend always says "be proud of your stripes you earnt them"

Big wave to all X

OrangeGloss · 22/02/2011 20:47

Magic how exciting!! Looking forward to hearing some news :)

Can I ask when did you ladies start showing? I have something just erm above my hairline about 12cm wide, which I dont think is the flab/bloat from my carb frenzy of recent times. Ok, I might be talking nonsense!

stuffedmk · 22/02/2011 21:02

Sounds promising Magic Grin

Had midwife appointment today which was handy as otherwise I may have taken my paranoid butt down the hospital lol. Have been having looooads and looooads of braxton hicks today, well, since last night. Kept waking up in the night then today they have been about every ten minutes for most of the day Confused Have tried relaxing, walking, drinking more, nothing has stopped them. However they aren't painful (bit uncomfortable) and aren't getting any worse, plus I have no other signs that anything untoward is going on. Midwife checked heartbeat which was fine and told me he is head down now but not engaged, and she just told me to keep an eye on things and call hospital if I need to. I admit I did make sure the last few bits were in my hospital bag this morning though, and got online to pay a couple of bills that were due in the next week or two.......just in case Wink

mamapower · 22/02/2011 21:05

magic fingers crossed it's not long until you meet your twins Smile

Muser · 23/02/2011 07:40

Oh I wonder if magic is cuddling babies yet.

appleblossoms · 23/02/2011 08:01

oh magic! That sounds like exciting things are happening...looking forward to an update soon. aaah, can't believe you're going to have TWO whole babies to cuddle so very soon!!

stuffed that must've been a scary time, glad the MW could reassure you a bit. Have things calmed down now or are those branstons still being little buggers and keeping you on your toes? FX baby decides to keep cooking just a little bit longer. ((hugs))

orange I got more 'padding' quite early, but had a definite bump by about 14 weeks, was in maternity trousers from 15/16 weeks as I couldn't fit into my old trousers any more! I've only put on 7lbs so far this preg, so it's all baby. I doubt I have ANY stomach muscles at all though to hold it in, due to DS and my dislike of anything situp like! Wink Apparently that makes you show earlier.

Got the MW this afternoon and am really looking forward to it. Going to tell her about my funny turn on Friday, and I'm just SO exhausted all the time...fell asleep putting DS down for his afternoon nap yestering Blush his bedtime music was so relaxing! Hoping she'll have some words of wisdom...and can't wait to hear that little heartbeat again. Just hope everything's okay still Smile

appleblossoms · 23/02/2011 08:01

"yesterday" not "yestering"...oh dear...brain's deserted me still!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 23/02/2011 08:04

Ooh, how exciting.

magic you are doing it girl, all these cramps and feelings are making changes to your body that we can't see. This is the hard part for the body, getting from nothing to 4cms, from then on, labour kicks in and it's all systems go. The best way to build up is gradually as it's natures way, (wanders off muttering about listening to own advice :) ). Lets look at it this way, you are nearly there and sometime very soon, you'll have those spider babies in your arms.

jolls happy birthday lovey, have a Wine Grin

stuffed bh's are a bloody nuisance aren't they, again, echo what I just said to Magic, essential for the body to get ready so try and go with it. Don't fight it, it has to happen and the more we welcome it and embrace, the better for your body and mind to have a smooth time.

Incidentally, it's not at all unusual for subsequent babies not to engage until actual labour starts as the ligaments surrounding the pelvis are all a bit looser and baby can slip in and our, right up until established labour. I wouldn't worry about that at all. Hopefully little mk will stay put for a little while longer. :)

apples good luck with mw this afternoon, maybe a spot of low blood pressure. Hope all is well,

Going to see my friend today, one of my very first antenatal crown, all our children are turning 16 this year, We've seen some highs and lows together so looking forward to that.

Good day everyone.

lia66 · 23/02/2011 09:42

crown?? Hmm crowd

lucysnowe · 23/02/2011 14:31

Magic how exciting, it all sounds good! My first DD didn't come till 42 weeks and the stretchmarks finally arrived 41 weeks. (Sigh).

PV I realise I sounded a bit nin my last message to you, I'm really sorry. Blame pregnancy grumpiness. Smile

With regard to bumps I appear to have a massive one but I think it's all pretty much made of hot cross buns (am mainlining around 3 a day at the mo!).

Scan tomorrow... am already bricking it, alas.

lucysnowe · 23/02/2011 14:32

'nin', where did that come from? I meant 'snarky'... nin sounds a bit snarky though... apologies anyway. Smile

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 23/02/2011 17:26

Thanks lia I am hoping your Thursday prediction is right! x
Lucy Angry re stretchmarks, my mums appeared as she had a warm bath in labour with me Sad. Mmmmmm hot cross buns.......I say as I am sitting her eating bourbons (one for me, one for Thing 1, one for Thing 2, One for me..........)
Jolls I hope you have had a lovely day......what have you planned for this eve?x

randomimposter · 23/02/2011 20:48
