oh clareanna sorry, but that's made my day! Just imagining you clambouring through the boot. Grin

Sorry it hurt though, not so great really. Hope you're recovering.

Good luck dorcas, really hope things get moving quickly!

Unbuffy · 01/02/2011 17:12

ooooh, I do feel sorry for you Clarea that's NOT fun. People can be SO inconsiderate parking - pg / baby seats / trying to get toddler into car... RANT! Poor poor you. I would have left a VERY RUDE note on the windscreen. Among other things. This has happened to me in HOSPITAL car parks too, where you'd sort of expect people to be a bit more sensible, especially in the maternity ward area, but no.

And breathe.

Basically what i'm saying is that sucks for you, ouchy McOuch.

Bastards.

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 18:41

Oh clare the indignity of crawling in through the boot at nearly 40 weeks pg... sorry shouldnt laugh, i would be mortified. Imagine if you had a hatch back?! I think i would have got DS to pee up their wheel or something Grin Some people just dont think huh?

Go Dorcas, Go Dorcas Grin definately bounce Grin

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 19:35

Actually dorcas seconding alba i bounced for england and it did absolutely bugger all for my first hideous labour...so dig out the chockies, put up your feet and stick a crap movie on...Grin

I did actually watch OBEM last night....the singer & her DH were a bit sickeningly gushingly loved up.... terribly terribly annoying i found! But funny at the same time..well ish!

Clareanna you're giving me lots of laughs at the moment, what with your car and tanning antics! Grin

Had a midwife appointment today and listened to tiger baby's heartbeat - absolutely fine :) Midwife reassured me that it's normal only to feel little movements rather than big kicks, so feel much better now.

OrangeGloss · 02/02/2011 06:59

Morning all Grin

Gonnabe sorry to hear you had to go to hospital, was everything ok?
Yay Nix for 13 weeks Envy but so pleased for you Grin @ your incognito pg, I'm not sure when I would tell people, probably not after 12 week scan
Clareanna I'm very impressed with your forward planning! Poor you crawling through a boot, but again I'm impressed!

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for so many of you Grin

I've had my 12 week scan date for 11th Feb. Spent the day in a panic, wondering if I still 'felt' pg. Oh well, 9 days to go...

Lotta123 · 02/02/2011 07:57

Clareanna As a fellow SPD sufferer ouch, ouch, ouch. Hope you're able to lie on your side with a pillow between your legs for a day or two.

dorcas111 · 02/02/2011 08:33

Still here, had a bit of a freak out during the night after getting lots more pink discharge every time I went to the toilet and wiped. Just called the hospital again though and they've reassured me its just the show. Had no idea it could be so protracted... Now feeling very sleep deprived after a night tossing and turning and prodding my belly. More cramping, period pain but still waiting for things to get going. Ho hum...
Clareanna you did make me laugh with the image of you crawling through the boot, sorry, probably not very funny at the time! Hope you can take it easy today.
orangegloss hang in there, waiting for the 12 week scan is really hard work, but it will be here soon.
Hi everyone else. Hope to be back here later with more exciting news, but in the meantime I think I will have a very lazy day on the sofa. Spent yesterday being a grumbling, hormonal mess so its probably in the interests of the general public that I stay indoors...

clareanna · 02/02/2011 08:57

Sounds like things are at least getting going in the right direction dorcas!

All I can say this morning is OUCH. OUCH OUCH OUCH. I feel like I've been kicked between the legs by a mule. Have arranged for my mum to come and look after DS and I will mainly be found on the sofa.

nickstermum · 02/02/2011 09:03

dorcas can i just reassure you about the show? Mine started a little on the sunday night, then came and went for days as i was in a slow labour.... but dont be alarmed if you get lots of it over the next few days whilst your body gets going :) FX for you lovely... so exciting.

Oh clare Im so sorry you are in pain this morning... bloody hell. Just what you dont need. Blush about giggling too now... sorry!

Lotta123 · 02/02/2011 09:31

Clareanna I stupidly ran 50 feet the other day and was in a lot of pain. Good news is that rest did make it go away after a day or two. Glad your mum can help.

stuffedmk · 02/02/2011 11:03

Clareanna I'm both angry on your behalf at inconsiderate parking and giggling at the image (sorry Blush)

Dorcas sounds promising!!!

Had a sweep this afternoon- 1.5 cm dilated! Have been having mild contractions since then, but very erratic. I've been having a bounce, climbing stairs and just been for a walk to try and keep things going. Could this go on for a while do you think? How do I know when to call Mr Dorcas and get him home? He has to work late tonight and I don't want to get him to start his paternity leave for days of intermittent contractions...

nickstermum · 02/02/2011 18:27

Dorcas oooh exciting xx

clareanna · 02/02/2011 19:39

dorcas only 8.5cm to go!!! Think of it that way... lia might be along soon to help, I don't think anyone can predict how long you'll be in early labour though. from memory I was 2cm dilated when my waters went but had no real contractions, they kicked in about 8hours later. So is relax tonight and see what happens after midnight!

CaribouMoo · 02/02/2011 20:00

Good luck with that Dorcas! No advice since had an elective section but I'm sure others will have more info - all the best!

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 02/02/2011 20:05

waving my pom poms for dorcas !!

I PROMISE I will try to catch up with the thread properly and do a nice long namechecking post very soon, but right now I'm too tired, sorry.

congratulations hairy on your BFP! :) (and to anyone else I might have missed of course!!)

I'm all infection free, and had no changes in cervix or more plug since last week, so all is good here. also, I seem to be in a very hormone induced happy haze today, nothing at all can get to me, it's great!! not even the fact that my friend's sister-in-law who doesn't know me at all spent a good half hour "palpating" my bump because she wanted to feel baby kick, and of course she knows about these things because she wants to be a midwife one day..

tigerbear · 02/02/2011 21:53

Woooo to Dorcas!!!! Hopefully won't be long!

Ivy glad to hear you're ok :)

Tigerbaby has been making biggest movements yet today! I actually saw my tummy move of it's own accord!

toomuchteaching · 02/02/2011 22:25

dorcas I was 1.5cms for sweep on thurs, xs in the afternoon, show on Sunday, Jemima on Monday. Probably not what you wanted to hear, so i'd say do any last minute things that'll make you happy! You might not have much time. Fingers crossed for you.

toomuchteaching · 02/02/2011 22:26

BH not xs, crazy phone.

Hi there, I've been having contractions since midnight, every 5- 10 minutes, about 30-40 seconds. I'm assuming it could be awhile yet though. Trying to rest but it's not easy!
